  • Heavenly-Perfect name!

"My husband and I just sent 4 nights at the Heavenly Lake Lodge, and it was perfect! The weather wasn't great rainy and cool, but, walking along the boardwalk and sitting on the porch watching the geese was peaceful and relaxing. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to stay here when it's warm. The pool right outside your door and the lake for boating and fishing! Hope to come soon, loved it."

  • Beautiful, secluded location to enjoy Lake Atitlan

"We spent 5 days at Casa Wenche and would definitely return. The grounds are breathtaking, with impressive landscaping and endless views of the lake and volcanoes. This property is away from the hustle and traffic of Panajachel but easily accessible by boat. The house is well appointed and will be best enjoyed by the physically fit who are able to navigate the many stairs that connect the home to the village and dock. You also need to be able to board and disembark small boats easily. Casa Wenche is quiet and peaceful, with access to expansive grounds and a nice pool. The caretaker, Ramos, was always available (he lives on the property) and attentive. We also met the welcoming owner, Erik, as he was in town at the main house while we were there. Short boat rides will connect guests with other Atitlan lakeside villages worthy of exploration. A scenic trail connects to a few nearby villages as well. Bring your own groceries from Panajachel and pack light for minimum hardship in traveling by boat. There are some small restaurants within walking distance, too. Casa Wenche is a great value and a rejuvenating place to be. We recommend staying for several days to get the most out of it. Our only wishes for an even better stay would be for a stand-up fan in case of hot days and some screens on the interior windows to help keep the bugs out."

  • Just as pictured!

"The condo and view is just as the owners have pictured. Very comfortable, clean, and well appointed condo with a clear view of the ocean. Every bed was comfortable. There were 6 of us total, 3 couples, and we all felt that we had a private space of our own to retreat to. We were able to sit on the lanai and whale watch. Best thing about this condo is how comfortable it is and how well they have stocked it. I also love this location on Maui. Little less crowded than Kaanapali area and I prefer West Maui over South Maui. Lahaina is a short drive away for dinners out or a little night life. Lahaina Harbor is also where you will catch most of the ocean excursions/whale watching from in West Maui. Papakea is a very large complex but they have it divided into 2 so it feels a bit more manageable, which also gives you 2 pool/hot tub areas to choose from as well as grassy areas, etc. Worst thing about this condo is...elevator was sketchy and with condo being on 4th floor we took the stairs a lot. I also thought there was a slight bit of beach in front of condo but there is none, at least not while we were there. It was a crazy storm weekend though so maybe that had something to do with it. Hot tub next to our building was broken the whole time we were there. Parking lot was large but got full very quickly at the end of the day. We had to park a distance from condo and walk a bit at the end of some days. Neither of these being a big deal, we are all in good shape except one friend who has a knee injury. At check in, it did feel very time share resorty with the classes and so on offered, but no one is pressuring you to sign up anywhere. Just a reminder about being hit with the additional $15 per day resort fee when you check in . It is clearly stated and I knew that, but it still came as a surprise upon check in when you feel like you have already paid in full up front. All in all a really good condo and I would recommend it."

  • Paradise found- in deed!

"We absolutely loved staying here! It was just as the other reviews described- remarkably clean and spacious, beautiful, private, and with many wonderful amenities like beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels and boogie boards. And the location was all we could have dreamed of- a block from down town and a block (or 2) from the beach. Too perfect. The host Melissa was so helpful and friendly and very accommodating. We can't wait to go back! Thanks so much, it really was wonderful."
