Enjoying this charming waterfront home!
03/29/2014 - Our wonderful Canyon Lake escape – Water’s Edge
From the moment we arrived at Canyon Lake, we were impressed by the natural beauty of the area. We were delighted by the generous parking, friendly neighbors and the supreme view of the lake. The house sits on an elongated lot that is deep and deliciously lakefront. Water’s Edge provides an ample ground-level covered space for easy entertaining, dining alfresco and of course barbequing!
As we climbed the staircase to the wrap-around deck, our eyes were immediately drawn to the stunning, panoramic views of Canyon Lake. The house is a charming escape that offers a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a comfortable leather sofa, an easy chair and wonderful natural light. The kitchen is spacious, equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge with water & ice dispenser, a nice stovetop and oven as well as a double sink.
Water’s Edge offers three comfortable bedrooms and two spacious bathrooms. Ample linens are available with plenty of plump pillows and comfortable mattresses. Two of the bedrooms offer easy access to the wrap-around deck.
We were delighted by the quality of the local restaurants and quick access to grocery, convenience stores and gas stations. There’s even a great hardware store that sells fishing rods and ice coolers.
Water’s Edge owner Patty was really fantastic. She was super-friendly and generous with restaurant suggestions.
Pack your bags and prepare for a joyous escape to a truly memorable property deep in the pristine Texas Hill Country!
# 302629 Telegraph Hill, San Francisco, San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, APARTMENT
I can stay perched on this sofa and look at this amazing view all day long!
03/14/2014 - From the moment we entered the apartment, all we could say was “WOW!” This beautiful Telegraph Hill flat provides picture perfect views. The large windows of the main room and master bedroom were open to enjoy every scenic moment. In the early mornings, the world was quiet with the sound of the occasional fog horn in the distance while the sun gently filled the master bedroom. Just as enticing, as the evening sun went down, we would watch the lights on the bridge turn on while sipping a glass of champagne.
The penthouse has been nicely remodeled and tastefully decorated with a balance of up-to-date appliances and conveniences, while still maintaining the historic San Francisco Edwardian charm on the outside. Beautiful hardwood floors shine throughout. There is a nice separation between the master bedroom and the other two large bedrooms. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. The penthouse is spacious and airy with high ceilings and filled with natural light and plenty of storage. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms were elegantly renovated and professionally cleaned. The towels were plush and hotel quality.
The location was ideal for us. The walkability to restaurants, cafes, and shopping was a plus to staying in the unit itself. Historic landmarks such as Coit Tower, Embarcadero, Ferry Plaza, and Transamerica Pyramid (just to name a few) surrounded us. When we did require transportation for farther locations, cabs were nearby, easy to hire, and could get us anywhere we needed to go. The home was a relaxing place for us to land after a full day of walking and sightseeing.
The owner, Richard, was very accommodating and helpful. His professionalism was apparent in the entire booking and check in/out process. He was prompt in his replies to my initial inquiry and questions. Richard presented us with an informative email prior to our arrival providing suggestions and recommendations for things to do in the area. I could tell right away I was dealing with a very experienced owner.
It was definitely hard to leave when our vacation ended. Thank you Richard, for hosting us Bears at your lovely apartment!

Ready to unwind in the Jacuzzi
03/12/2014 - With so much history and tradition in the city of New Orleans, this cottage strikes a beautiful balance of local charm and modern living. The details of the property stood out from the moment we walked in and extended throughout the home. The mix of local artwork with modern furnishings made it clear that the owners were committed to creating a great space.
The formal dining room space is perfect for a large family dinner and we took full advantage. The full kitchen and backyard grill allowed us to enjoy the great local markets and fresh seafood. All the modern appliances and cooking utensils were at hand allowing us to prepare meals with ease. We would open the full length windows to the front of the home and enjoy the amazing weather while enjoying food and drink with friends.
The proximity of the living room meant that our favorite local jazz band was playing on the music doc whenever we were home. The full entertainment center kept our favorites within ear shot throughout the cottage. The complement of movie channels was a nice addition, although we preferred to spend our time listing to music when not out trying to catch live shows.
The bedrooms each had their own unique charm and artwork but provided plenty of space as well. The large closet space allowed us to unpack like we were home. The beds and linens were more comfortable than what I have at home. The place we spent most of our time was definitely the kitchen and back yard where we shared our favorite stories of the day before jumping into the Jacuzzi to unwind. With a surplus of soft towels, a nice backlit yard and privacy fence, there was no better way to end the day.
With character to spare and proximity to just about everything, we could not have picked a better place to stay. The owners and property manager were very gracious and communicated with us throughout the reservation process and after checkout. In all, we feel fortunate to have stayed in a place that made our visit one to always remember.

You'll love this beautiful condo, so convenient to the town and the beach!
03/09/2014 - Ahhh, what a fantastic way to spend a week at the beach! We had two families and this was our first time at Rosemary Beach with kids. Once we checked in using the keyless door entry (which was fantastic for older kids to go in and out), we found a great open floor plan with a large family area. The four bedrooms were plenty for all of us. One room had a trundle bed where two of the kids bunked and shared a bathroom with another bedroom. There was also two master suites with their own private baths. The beds were very comfy and each room had a flat screen TV for when we needed some quiet time. The outdoor patio was a very popular area as it had a large dining table as well as two lounge chairs where we could relax. The kitchen was also fully stocked which made staying in for breakfast and lunch easy. All liked the large breakfast bar.
As with any vacation, it’s all about the location and this place was so very convenient to the town and to the beach. The kids had bikes and were able to explore the town themselves, so they very quickly identified the quickest routes to the candy, ice cream and beach toy stores. With the bike-friendly paths everywhere, the kids could enjoy the beautiful beach town. As for their parents, being able to walk to the amazing restaurants was wonderful.
Although we packed quite a lot of beach equipment, it was not problem at all as the beach-to-door tram service was super-efficient and friendly.
Once back at the condo, it was all about the gigantic pool. The kiddos would scamper off and run around under the fountain and we could follow or leisurely watch them from the outdoor patio.
Last but not least, the owner was not only responsive but proactive in keeping us informed about our upcoming stay, making sure we knew about the scheduled cleaning of the pool area so we could schedule around those hours. Overall, we had a wonderful week at the beach in this lovely condo.

Relax, play games, or enjoy the view from your private balcony
03/06/2014 - This wonderfully furnished, comfortable, penthouse villa is nestled at the top of the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Spa. Even with 10 of us, the villa was very spacious and comfortable. The wonderful cool cross-ventilation of the ocean breeze in the main kitchen area/living room, meant we didn't have to use the A/C. You will spend mornings drinking coffee, seeing the stunning sunrises, and taking in the ocean breeze. Afternoons will be spent sipping a mint mojito, or a 'cuba libre'. Evenings will be highlighted by gazing out over the balcony, listening to the symphony of singing coqui frogs from the landscape below, as you watch the large cruise ships set out to sea from San Juan. Grandpa Bear spent an afternoon watching cartoons with the little bears in the wonderfully cozy and spacious media room.
Eva and Jose have thought of everything with their villa. Each bedroom had a private FULL bathroom. Plenty of clean towels, sheets, and pillows are available. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to prepare meals. We stopped by a grocery store in Luqillo, named Amigo's, a mere 7 minutes from the villa on PR-3, and stocked up for incidental meals and snacks for our stay. If you want a quick coffee and a breakfast sandwich, consider stopping by Dalia's Diner, right at the intersection of PR-3 and PR-968. If you want a heavier meal or dinner, head out for Ritchie's Cafe at the top of the hill on PR-968. Ritchie's is best for lazy afternoons for great vistas, or catch it in the evenings on the weekend for some live local color. (Call ahead for details).
The bears spent lots of hours on the beach. Bring lots of sun screen! Eva and Jose provided boogie boards for the little bears (or big bears too) to enjoy on the beach. We felt like we practically had the whole beach to ourselves which was surprisingly nice considering it was Spring Break. Momma bear had a great, peaceful stroll up and down the beach as she collected shells and sand dollars. You have to look for them, but they are there! The little bears came in from the beach, and washed themselves at the showers before jumping into one of the communal pools available for Rio Mar residents, and spent more time having some good splash fun.
One evening we took a tour at 'Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve' -- the Biolumniscent Bay excursion. We decided on this because we had little bears and Grandpa and Grandma bear along on our vacation. We visited the Fajardo lighthouse, and later when we returned to the villa, we realized we could spot the lighthouse from the balcony! We got to experience the bioluminescent bay at night, and it was very amazing walking around outside with no lights or flashlights. Our guide was very knowledgeable and it was educational for bears of all ages.
We also visited El Yunque, the only official Rain Forest of the U.S. Forest Service. The views from the Yokahu Tower are spectacular. If you are up for the hike, do the Mt. Britton lookout tower. It is worth the trip. Some of the bears in our family took a dip at the Mina Falls, and the best part - it was only minutes away from Eva and Jose's villa!
We did many more things while staying at Rio Mar. We visited Arecibo Observatory, made a few trips to Old San Juan, and ventured for a long day trip to Ponce. Whatever your bear family decides to do, tennis, golf, hotel, spa, walks on the beach, jet skis, day trips, or just sitting back and enjoying the view, know that you will have a memorable and peaceful vacation with this vacation villa as your home base.

The perfect vacation rental for location, comfort, and views!
02/20/2014 - The pictures on VRBO did not do this beautiful property justice. There were elements everywhere that made the condo feel like a true mountain chalet. I loved the antler chandelier over the dining table, old black and white photos of the town framed in each room, snow shoes in the shape of a heart on the wall in the living room, and rustic wood furniture throughout the condo. Two great sized bedrooms with their own bathrooms made the property a perfect candidate for future trips with family or friends. The kitchen had everything we needed including an iPod docking station. There was a bottle of red wine and two glasses waiting on the expansive granite countertop in the kitchen. The living room had an awesome bear sized leather couch and with a collection of comfy pillows and throw blankets. One of the pillows read “Home is Where the Heart Is”. This was probably my favorite touch, and a perfect pillow for a vacation rental.
Arriving in the dark we hadn’t seen the mountains around us. The next morning I saw the view, which took my breath away. The condo was so close to Aspen mountain that we could see lifts from our living room! I couldn’t get over the views from our condo. I kept opening the patio door to go outside, take pictures, and just be closer to the mountainous backdrop. The condo was perfect for those who plan on coming to Aspen to snowboard or ski. We were given our own locker right outside for snowboards. There was also a giant wooden bench for our coats, gloves, hats, boots, goggles, etc. The shuttle down the street took us to Snowmass. After a day on the mountain we came back and read through magazines on the coffee table, enjoying a glass of wine and learning about famous diners and pubs to try. Our muscles were given a chance to recover in the hot tub.
The condo is within walking distance to every shop, restaurant, and bar in Aspen. Knowing that everything was a short walk away made planning unnecessary and allowed us to enjoy being on vacation. We walked down the street to get groceries. We were able to walk to the shuttle that took us to each mountain which was awesome. We didn’t use the rental car all weekend.
We shopped one afternoon, stopping at an old pub to enjoy a drink and watch the end of a basketball game. Dinner was Italian and I enjoyed one of the best plates of lasagna I’ve ever had. Aspen is the perfect spot for a bear! I fell in love with the crisp air, snowy mountains, friendly people and simple way of living. The property’s owner, Brian, made sure we were more than taken care of and was super responsive when I had questions about Aspen or the condo. I could not have asked for a better person to work with. On our drive back to Denver we talked about coming back every year and bringing friends, always staying in the same condo because it was so special to us. I’m so bearrrrr-y thankful to have been given the opportunity to experience such a beautiful place!

Trail map handy--planning for the day on the slopes!
02/08/2014 - This February, four of my friends and I decided to come out of hibernation early to hit the slopes at Whistler. We were spoiled rotten by the luxurious amenities and prime location of this property! The proximity to Village Run was ideal for skiing and snowboarding – every morning we would roll out of bed, strap on our gear, and cruise down to the gondola. We didn’t have to deal with the hassle of lugging around our boards or hobbling in ski boots, and also had time to squeeze in a couple of extra runs at the end of the day!
In addition to primo mountain access, the panoramic views of the valley from the wrap-around deck are breathtaking. There’s a hot tub that is constantly kept at 104o F – the perfect temperature for relaxing after a long day of tearing up the slopes. After enjoying the hot tub, the propane grill was great for cooking up a feast in the evening. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals, and there was tons of space and seating in the living and dining areas. The 42” flat screen HDTV, Bose sound system, and wifi internet connection kept us entertained on the nights that we decided to stay in.
After surveying the cabin’s accommodations, I can definitely sympathize with Goldilocks. There are beds for up to 10 people, and the downstairs bathroom has been completely remodeled with a rain shower and heated tile floors. The stackable washer/dryer came in handy for drying out my soggy ski clothes at the end of the day - even bears wipe out occasionally!
It was a pleasure planning my trip with the property’s owner, Sabina. She was incredibly responsive to all of my questions, and even helped me book our lift tickets and ski rentals at a discount before we arrived! Whenever I had a question, I had no problem reaching Sabina by phone, text, or email, and it made my Whistler experience that much more enjoyable.
After our stay at Cedar Ridge, it’s going to be really tough to return to my cave next winter!

Ski or swim...you can't beat the fun!
02/08/2014 - After a long season of hibernation, I realized that I needed to breathe mountain air, hear the crunch of snow between my bear paws, and look across the mountains with white and frosted trees. We navigated through the infamous Loveland Pass to our final destination –The Springs at the basin of the River Run Gondola and village.
Imagine my delight as we pulled up on that snowy night to a warmly lit building welcoming us. We pulled our car into a heated garage with a conveniently located ski locker, which made it easy to unload our ski equipment. As we walked to our room we passed through a lobby with a wilderness mural and large fireplace with seating for a large group to gather. Young cubs played in a newly decorated playroom. A movie was starting to play in the theater room. Through the lobby windows we saw two hot-tubs filled with content skiers, and a heated pool with cubs swimming beneath a waterfall. You would think that would be enough but there was also a pool table, gym, steam room, and shower. Our room was toasty warm in comparison to the cool mountain air. The mountain lodge décor instantly made us feel welcome, and we were soon relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine while looking at the fireplace.
We awoke the next morning from a great night’s sleep in a comfortable bed and began making breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. We’d conveniently stocked up on groceries the previous night while passing through Dillon. We grabbed our skis from the ski locker and walked a mere 300 feet to the base of the River Run Gondola!! This truly was a perfectly appointed ski-in and ski-out unit and we were off to shred the fresh 10 inches of powder that had fallen overnight.
After a long day of skiing in powder, we relaxed in the hot-tub while large snowflakes fell from the sky. That evening we walked along a short, yet tranquil path from the condo to Keystone River Run village to enjoy a hearty dinner. It was nice not needing to start our Bear-mobile once we arrived. Everything we needed on was just outside our door. We went to bed thankful that we’d found such a great spot for our mountain escape, and hope to come back again.

Come and enjoy this great location on the water!
12/30/2013 - This was the perfect place to start the new year, and a wonderful winter vacation getaway! I would like to try it again when the weather warms up to take better advantage of the great outside space, which includes a perfectly manicured, shaded lawn that leads down to the sheltered dock on the lake. We enjoyed spending time both indoors and outside. Even on the water, because it's winter, it was quiet and relaxing. We hung out on the dock soaking in the winter rays and getting some fishing in. There is a stop between the house and the dock that has 4 comfy lounge chairs and a BBQ grill (which we used a few times). A perfect spot for relaxing!
The lake house itself is a pleasant space, clean and uncluttered with a back wall of windows facing out onto the Lake and Hill Country. I spent quite a bit of time enjoying the gorgeous sunset views and peaceful atmosphere. There is a great ping-pong table in the large screened patio, along with lounging chairs and an eating area. There are traditional board games (we played a lot of Yahtzee and Clue). They also provided a stack of good movies to choose from. The couch and TV area are perfect for movie watching for a family, so comfortable!
The house is perfect for small kids. The children found the “secret” closet bunk beds as soon as we got there, and were so very excited! The beds there were furnished with a giant stuffed animal each – how fun! They had a really great time playing in that space. This house is also well outfitted for those travelling with a baby. There are baskets of baby toys and covers on every outlet.
And though you feel like you're miles away from any sort of commercial outlet, Kingsland is just down the road with a grocery store - just in case. There is a quaint train depot restaurant that I would recommend. Some of the travelers also ventured to Longhorn Caverns for a tour and had a great time.

Relaxing and enjoying this perfectly located condo at the end of each day
12/27/2013 - New Year’s in Kauai is just what the Bear family ordered for our winter getaway! This bear couple was spoiled on their 20th Anniversary with this perfectly located Condo in Wailua, on the Coconut Coast. It was the perfect location for us to do everything we wanted in Kauai.
The condo is situated at the end of the complex – away from street noise – and close to the fabulous beach and ocean view. Right when we arrived, we headed straight to the balcony to take in the sounds and view that is Kauai. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed for the beach as well as a clean and organized kitchen. And, they had air conditioning in the bedroom if it was too hot. But we didn’t need it. There were plenty of windows to open to catch the ocean breezes!
The location of our condo was perfect. We had easy access to multiple grocery stores and restaurants. But, we were far enough from town that we didn’t feel like we couldn’t get away from everything. The owners were also very attentive and surprised us with some snacks, coffee and a bottle of wine waiting for our arrival!
It seems to me that the owners really care about their home! They recently remodeled their bathroom into a mini oasis! The large shower head and openness of the space was very relaxing. They provided us plenty of towels and supplies for our visit.
One of our favorite evenings was walking over to Waialua Bay (about a 2 minute walk) with our beach chairs in hand, a tasty beverage, sitting close to the water and watching the stars. It was dark and peaceful in the evening. We brought a flashlight with us to find our way. After sitting and chatting for a while, we decided to look at what was around us with our flash lights. To our surprise, there were about 10 tiny crabs frozen by our light – staring at us. Then they quickly zipped back into the water or into their homes in the sand. It was a magical evening for all of us.
I really enjoy going on bike rides and it is very easy to go biking in Kauai. There was a bike path (called the Ke Ala Hele Makalae 7 mile trail) that starts directly across from our condo – which becomes a dedicated path in Kapa’a after 2 miles. Papa Bear LOVES to roller skate, so Mama Bear got a Bike (with room for me!) and we took that path at least 3 times on our visit. It goes all the way to Kuna Bay where we got to play in the waves and watch the surfers. I’m glad we brought towels and sunscreen!
During our visit, we got to head to the North Shore and visit the remote area of Wainiha and Tunnels Beach to go snorkeling. The waves were too high at the Tunnels Beach (in the Winter the water is more rough in the North), so we decided to check-out the Kalalau Trail – which is an 11 mile trail that goes all the way over to the Na Pali Coast. Our family loves to snorkel – so we were looking forward to the location. But, the trail was very beautiful and in the lush jungle. The trail was a little much for my little legs to handle, so we only made it a ½ mile in – but I’m glad I went that far and got to enjoy the views!
A few days later we headed to the South end of the Island to snorkel at Poipu Beach. There were a lot more people down there, but the snorkeling was great! We also snorkeled near our condo at Lydgate Park. It was a sheltered swimming area that had a few fish to see. There were lots of families there and I felt much safer and protected from the higher waves!
At the end of every day, it was nice to get back to our comfortable condo. We could cook what we wanted and barbeque by the pool. We made Hawaiian Ribs one night – they took 3 hours to cook – so I got to swim in the beautiful pool and warm my fur in the sun! Another night we picked up some giant Kauai farm raised shrimp on our way back from Waimea in Hanapepe. They were so good! And a bargain too! We cooked those by the pool as well.
It is always sad when it is time to go home. But, we had a relaxing and enjoyable time at this condo in Wailua. The location, amenities and scenery made this one of the most memorable vacations we have had in a long time. I will definitely tell my friends about this magical trip. Thank you for accepting the Bear into your home in Kauai.

Relaxing in this wonderful condo. Great views and location!
12/26/2013 - We planned a Christmas trip to the Monterey bay area and this was this property was the highlight of our trip! The 2 bedroom, 2 full bath nicely equipped Condo is located near the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row shopping. Included in this condo, is 4 guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which gives this VRBO rental an added savings. The views are astonishing! The patio overlooks the ocean and a lush green narrow park that runs along the Ocean side with a hike and bike trail. We saw a wedding party taking pictures in the park and hear that many wedding happen at this park location!
We rented bikes from about a block away and enjoyed riding along the coast from the 17 mile drive to the Aquarium and took post card perfect pictures along the way.
While making coffee in the morning we looked out through the patio window and saw a couple whales swimming in the bay. The binoculars on the cabinet allow you to get up close!
The entire condo complex is family owned and we were able to visit with some of Sally’s family. They are wonderful people and a pleasure to chat with.
The kids also enjoyed board games in from the game cabinet and were able to post their favorite photos of the day using the high speed WIFI.

Happy holidays from Whistler!
12/16/2013 - This holiday season, I decided to take a few of my friends skiing and snowboarding with me in Canada at Whistler Blackcomb. Boy, am I glad I picked this property to stay at! This house has everything you need for a perfect mountain vacation.
The first thing all of us could not stop talking about was the amazing location of this property. This house is literally right next to the slopes. We would strap on our gear, grab our skis and boards, take a few steps, and we were right on the run down to the village! Not all of us were expert skiers or snowboarders, but that wasn’t a problem. The run is an easy one; a beginner will have no problem making their way down.
After a long day of skiing and afternoon fun in the village, taking the lift back up and walking to the house was incredibly easy. At night, walking down the run to get to dinner, family fun, and nightlife in the village was a delight. Being that close to the village makes the experience truly unforgettable.
In the house, the experience took our trip to a whole other level of fun. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to make delicious meals. It’s like they thought of everything! Skiing into the house for lunch or dinner was a huge plus.
For the nights where we weren’t interested in going out in the village, getting in the hot tub after dinner to relax was truly amazing. The Jacuzzi is on the deck outside; it is kept hot from the moment you arrive. You can gaze upon the mountains and the trees while relaxing in the water. It is a spectacular way to end any day on the mountain.
The owner of this property thought of everything we could possibly need to have a great stay at Whistler. Don’t like putting your feet in cold ski boots in the morning? There’s a bootwarmer in the garage! Hate cold towels after you step out of the shower? The towels are kept on a towel warmer. There was even a beautiful Christmas tree waiting for us when we arrived to capture the holiday spirit!
The house is kept comfortably warm with heat running under the stone floors and a fireplace that keeps the house cozy and clean. My little bear feet could hardly believe how warm it was! Did I mention that the fireplace is perfect for s’mores? It’s the perfect den to sit in with loved ones and watch TV while making a few tasty treats.
We knew that we were in for a treat while visiting Whistler Blackcomb, but our experience here surpassed our wildest dreams. With everything so well thought-out and the location being so spectacular, it really is the best way to experience Whistler. When we make another trip, you can bet I’ll be checking to see if this property is available again!

After a fun day, you can relax in your own space.
12/09/2013 - There is nothing like Christmas time in New York City! This convenient property is located in Jersey City, only a 10 minute train ride to the big city. It’s in a perfect location to enjoy a New York City vacation.
The apartment is located on a very quiet street and just a few blocks from the New Jersey PATH train station. We rode the train every day into New York City with ease. The apartment was comfortable and relaxing, and the bed we used was large and comfy. There is a binder in the kitchen with a wealth of information about fun things to do in Jersey City as well as New York City. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware so you can make all your own meals if you wish. If you don’t want to go to the grocery store to buy groceries, no problem - the owner will get them ahead of time and have them waiting for you when you arrive! Just prepay and give her a list.
The owner was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly. She really cares about her place and accommodating her travelers.
Thank you so much for letting my family stay at your vacation home! We enjoyed every minute!

We loved this luxurious villa, inside and out!
12/05/2013 - If you’re planning the perfect Costa Rican vacation look no further than Geckoe’s Lodge, Casa Bromelia. This bear couple on their honeymoon was spoiled with luxury accommodations in a private rainforest paradise. We were greeted by our friendly hosts Tom and Zoe, who have spared no expense in creating an eco-friendly abode with views that will take your breath away. A thoughtful fruit basket with Costa Rican snacks and a delicious pineapple along with a bottle of champagne were set out to celebrate the occasion.
The impeccable attention to detail makes Casa Bromelia a true home away from home. A fully stocked kitchen, cell phone with necessary numbers, helpful travel guides and daily cleaning ensured we had a relaxing vacation. The hammocks also helped, it was amazing to see toucans and the beautiful blue morpho butterfly from the front porch. This beautiful, large, 2 bedroom home has an open concept layout that provides rainforest views at almost every turn. The master bedroom is absolutely perfect with a very comfortable bed, seating and a spacious bathroom.
The natural light peering through the windows started off our day as we explored the many beaches of the Caribbean coast, visited the Jaguar Rescue Center (baby howler monkeys crawling all over us!),a relaxing couples massage at Indulgence spa and shopped in Puerto Viejo. For a truly unforgettable meal visit La Pecora Nera which is a scenic little walk from the property. We enjoyed a perfectly seasoned and seasonal tasting menu in a romantic open air setting. After our active days we looked forward to arriving at the secluded oasis and taking a dip in the plunge pool.
There is so much to do, see and enjoy in this area that 6 days wasn’t enough and we’re already planning a return trip! I haven’t hesitated in recommending this home to my family and friends. This was the most memorable and relaxing vacation these bears could have ever hoped for.

Cozy bed for a bear's slumber!
12/05/2013 - Our Bear family arrived the first week of December and the city was decorated for the Christmas holiday already and looked beautiful. We were met by the loveliest property manager who welcomed us and let us into the property. The condo was much larger than we expected! There was so much space and it had everything you could possibly need, including a front load washer and dryer. The property manager made it very clear that she was available anytime if we needed anything.
We loved making breakfast in the gourmet kitchen every morning and cozying up on the couch to reminisce about the adventures from the night before. The beds were very comfortable, which we appreciated after all of the walking we did each day. Each bedroom had its own flat screen TV to watch the morning news and weather while getting ready for the day ahead. The two bathrooms had plenty of towels, more than enough for the four of us. The big master bathtub came in handy to soak our bear paws in after doing walking tours around town.
As a Bear I had never been to New Orleans before so I had no idea what to do. With the free wifi we were able to plan each night and find fun activities via the internet, but they also had a great guide magazine and list of places nearby. The location was perfect - we didn’t take a single cab and were able to just leave our car in a parking garage all weekend.
We didn’t want to leave because we had such a relaxing and carefree time in this apartment. The space, beds, baths and location were juuuuust right! We will definitely plan on going back on our next Bear vacation.

Eat, drink and be merry in this beautiful kitchen
11/26/2013 - This condo is in one of the most extraordinary areas in Colorado. We were able to spend our days snowshoeing the backcountry trails off Berthoud Pass, driving and hiking in West Rocky Mountain National Park, fly-fishing on the Colorado River, and ended our days in the heated pool & spa. If you want to stay near the condo, you have close access to the Fraser Trail, downtown shopping, or you can take the free ski bus to the Winter Park Resort!
The holiday was enhanced by the comfort of this wonderful condo. With 2 bedrooms and 4 beds, there was plenty of room for our family of 6. It is a spacious unit with an open kitchen, living and dining area that promotes easy cooking and relaxation. Papa Bear cooked his first Thanksgiving turkey in the updated oven, and found all the kitchen utensils and dining ware needed for preparation and serving. After the big feast, we all fell asleep on the comfortable furniture to some football games playing on the satellite network.
As a proud bear tenant of the Trailhead Condo, I highly recommend you bring your cubs and enjoy the wealth of comfort and adventure this property has to offer!
PS: Did I mention the owner is very nice? Jerry was extremely generous and picks up his phone immediately if you need to get in touch with him.

Enjoyed splashing in the heated pool!
11/25/2013 - The Bear family Thanksgiving went off without a hitch this year, thanks to this wonderful rental. With plenty of space for 8 family members, including Baby Bear and his big sister, this beautiful beach home allowed everyone to relax while spending quality family time together.
The entire family enjoyed hanging out in the large, open-plan, upstairs den and kitchen area. Whether sharing meals together or snuggling on the couches for a movie, this was the perfect place to enjoy each other's company. However, when one family needed a little extra space, or an afternoon nap, the additional downstairs bedrooms and den served as the perfect place to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and dinnerware making our Thanksgiving meal a snap to prepare. With a little help from the nearby supermarket, we were able to whip up a low key feast to keep traditions alive while still enjoying the relaxing beach atmosphere.
Baby bear and his big sister got a big kick out of splashing in the heated pool, but even more fun was taking the short walk to build castles on the beach just two blocks away! The calming waves, sugar white sand, and warm sun of Seagrove Beach created the perfect background for this year's holiday celebration. Plus, the small town of Seaside is within easy walking distance and provided us with hours of fun holiday shopping, people watching, and decadent holiday snacking.
This beach house was the perfect combination of out of the way and in the middle of everything. We felt safe letting the little ones play in the yard knowing that we were at the end of a quiet street, but could also easily walk or ride bikes to any destination that we wanted to go. I would highly recommend this rental to any family or group looking for a place to reconnect with each other, get away from the hustle of everyday life, and have a great time in a fun town.

Views from your own wrap-around balcony cannot be beat!
11/22/2013 - It does not get much better than visiting Skip's luxurious beachfront condo in Puerto Vallarta. Prior to our arrival, Skip and his property manager Drucilla went over an beyond in helping us plan for transportation, dining, and activities, all of which ended up surpassing our expectations.
Upon arrival in Puerto Vallarta, we were greeted at the airport by Skip's driver, Dagoberto, who escorted us to the condo (with cold drinks in tow!). My jaw nearly dropped to the floor when we walked in to see a meticulously decorated condo with every modern amenity you can imagine alongside 270 degree views of the beautiful oceanfront. The main areas were spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy one anothers company. The three bedrooms all had ocean views, comfortable beds, and in-suite bathrooms which was perfect for three couples traveling together. There is no better place in the world to watch a sunset with a glass of wine than the wrap around balcony. Beyond the actual condo being so spectacular, the pool and grounds are impeccable as well. We enjoyed time in the large beautiful pool which has a swim-up bar and restaurant with great food.
As much as I wanted to spend all my time in the condo, Puerto Vallarta is one of the most incredible beach towns I have ever visited and Skip's condo is also in the best location in all of Puerto Vallarta to enjoy them. The condo is located on the beach and within walking distance to all the amazing restaurants and shops within the town. Be sure to follow Skip's recommendations on dining as every meal we had was incredible..
There is truly no better place to enjoy Puerto Vallarta and all it has to offer than Skip's oceanfront condo!

Relaxing by the pool at this beautiful condo
11/13/2013 - I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful condo right in the heart of Key West. Mark, the owner, was nice enough to greet us with wine and give us a tour of the property. He provided helpful suggestions of restaurants and other activities around Key West and was able to answer all of our questions.
The compound was jaw-droppingly beautiful. The pictures on the listing were so amazing I didn't think it was possible that the property could match up. It did and then some! We honestly did not want to leave! The home was nicely furnished, and the pictures and decorating were beautiful. The property is well stocked & impeccably clean. Every room has amazing light and updated appliances. The kitchen had everything we needed in order to make meals during our stay and there were a ton of spices and cooking supplies in the cabinets. It was as if we never left home...only my kitchen at home is not nearly this nice. There were extra linens, plenty of towels provided, and each bathroom was nicely appointed. The heated pools were both so inviting, we spent a majority of our time in the water when we weren't out on the town.
There are patios along with a rooftop deck that are great for hanging out. You'll especially enjoy the spaciousness of the Master Suite and the balcony that overlooks Duval Street. It's great for people watching.
I don't think this condo could have a better location, literally in the middle of everything and all the fun that Key West has to offer. Whether you are more into doing touristy things or you like to check out the local hangouts; this condo is right where you want to be. We were able to try out a lot of the places that Mark recommended along with restaurants listed in the guest book. Everything was fabulous.
We are already talking about our next vacation to Key West and will definitely be staying here again. Don't miss your chance to enjoy Key West and stay at this fantastic home!

On my way to relax in this wonderful covered patio area
11/10/2013 - What a wonderful place for a bear family vacation! This vacation home in St. George, Utah is so comfortable and well put together it really makes you feel like you're at home. The views from the house in every direction are absolutely beautiful.
The entire property is perfect for hosting large family vacations. Baby Bear had fun swimming in the heated pool and playing with all the toys while Grandma Bear relaxed on the patio and in the gazebo enjoying the view of the Red Rock Mountains. We used the theater room every night to watch movies together. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed which was a time saver in the morning making it easy to have a quick breakfast then leave for our daily adventure. It was easy to relax with such big comfortable beds in every room and bathrooms filled with luxurious towels and all the bathroom amenities we needed. From the moment we arrived we could tell the owners are professionals. The property was so well organized. All the switches were labeled which made everything as easy to use as it is at home.
While we were staying at the property we made several day trips to Zion National Park which is only 30 miles away. On the first trip we saw 4 bighorn sheep, several deer and an eagle and on the second trip our whole family went on a helicopter ride over the backcountry out past the beehive and returning back along the edge of the park. In the evening we took baby bear on long peaceful walks through the neighborhood, everyone we met was friendly. This is definitely a place we will visit again.
Thank you so much for allowing our family to enjoy your beautiful vacation home!
# 152195 Magic Paradise, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, Mexico, 2 BR, 2 BA, CONDO
We loved the artistic decor in this beautiful condo
11/02/2013 - We have visited Playa del Carmen before, but this time we were lucky enough to spend two weeks in Marc's condo at Magic Paradise. It is by far the nicest accommodation we have had, and in a great location.
The condo has two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, two balconies, a beautifully (and artistically) decorated living space and a fully equipped kitchen. It was the perfect space for our family trip but would also be great for a couple or small group of friends.
The condo is just a block from Mamitas Beach which is the nicest in Playa - think white sand and aquamarine water - and being so close, we headed there twice a day!
A block in the other direction is Playa del Carmen's 5th Street, for pedestrians only - the ideal place for a sunset stroll, with its palm trees, small shops, artists' stands, restaurants and night life. The town showcases the best of a number of cultures - particularly in terms of food. We ate French crepes at La Crepacabana (highly recommended), fabulous tacos al pastor at Don Sirloin's and the world's best pizza at La Famiglia (though great pizza is easy to find in Playa.) The list of delicious places to eat is too long to mention here, but everything is within walking distance of the condo.
Marc could not have been more helpful in the lead up to our arrival. He has young children of his own and went as far as providing cribs for both our babies, speaking to the building managers about construction work being stopped at nap times and the lifesaver - his children's channel on Netflix! The management company was highly professional and friendly staff cleaned the condo daily, so all we had to do was relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Hanging out in this beautiul and conveniently located flat
10/31/2013 - This SF flat could not have been more perfect! Alan was a fantastic host – He greeted us upon our arrival, showed us everything we needed to know around the flat and provided recommendations for our time in the city. The check out process was just as easy and overall, the entire experience was seamless.
Not only is the interior in superb condition, the modern décor made it even more enjoyable. The abundance of natural light combined with the gorgeous views of the city made it difficult to leave the flat each day! Between Dolores Park across the street, a quick walk to Valencia, the Mission, the Castro or a 15 min train ride to Downtown, you can easily access everything SF has to offer from this perfect location. Some of our favorites that were in walking distance include Bi-Rite Creamery, Pizzeria Delfina, Tartine Bakery and afternoons in Dolores Park.
Can't wait to plan my next trip so I can book another stay at the SF Vacation Abode!

A great welcome and a lovely condo!
10/18/2013 - What a lovely condo! The views from the decks on both floors are breathtaking. You can see all of the pools (there are 3!) and the Jacuzzi, all with a backdrop of the ocean. Gorgeous. The main bedroom upstairs has a huge King bed, an ottoman that folds out into a twin bed, and a fainting couch. The fainting couch was of course my favorite. From there, I could stare out at the waves and listen to the surf in complete relaxation.
I couldn’t stay there all day, though. There were adventures to be had! In town, we stood in the mouths of two sharks, drank too much coffee and ate too many pastries and homemade gelato, and grabbed fishing gear. Then we headed out to the beach and cast our lines! What a great day.
Back at the condo later that night, we opened a bottle of wine and then took a long walk on the beach, accessible right from the boardwalk at the condo. The stars were out in force!
It was hard to leave, but this bear has some amazing memories and will definitely be back! Many thanks to Richard and his fantastic attention to detail. Everything we could possible need (and more!) was at our finger (paw?) tips.

Enjoying the great views from the balcony
10/10/2013 - This condo was one of the most beautiful properties I've ever seen. After crossing the swanky entrance area into the lobby (complete with security guard,) we found ourselves on the eighth floor, in a two bedroom penthouse unit with stunning views of both the beach and mainland Miami. It is outfitted luxuriously with sleek furniture and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The balconies were amazing and afforded jaw dropping views. The bathrooms were equipped with deep tubs and luxury toiletries. The unit has a full kitchen for those who like to cook - but we decided to eat at restaurants since there were so many that were close to the condominium building. Try the Big Pink - it's not even a block away and was some of the best breakfast we had on the island as well as afforded us some superb people-watching opportunities! Amenities also include free Wi-Fi and free cable television.
The walk from the building to the beach is extremely short, taking you past a Jacuzzi, a pool with bubbling Jacuzzi jets, and a cute little grassy park. There was so much to do outdoors just a few steps from the condo. Heading down Collins Avenue one can find upscale shopping as well as cute little sidewalk cafes and upscale clubs.
Miami Beach itself is one of the most gorgeous places we've ever been. The beautiful properties, sand, perfect climate, and party atmosphere helped give us one of the most fun weekends we've ever had.

Enjoying the deck and picturesque views!
10/08/2013 - NATURE LOVER AND PHOTOGRAPHER’S DREAM!!! The setting of the cottage is like something from a movie set. It’s breathtaking from the turn on Indian Point all the way as you wind down the secluded roads toward this breathtaking cottage located near the end of the peninsula on Loop Road just down the street from Reid State Park.
The small stone staircase leading down to the house gives a sense of the history and character of the house. My first steps into this cottage were jaw dropping. I was amazed at the size and beauty of the living room/library which contains a beautiful piano and paintings by the artist famous to the area that used this remarkable home as his studio. The beautiful dining area has a full view of the ocean. The kitchen perfectly accommodates the size of the cottage and has all of the cookware you’ll need to enjoy cooking lobster that you can purchase a short drive over to the pier.
The bedrooms have a certain rustic charm to them that combine maritime Maine with the antique charm of the amazing artist whose works decorate the home. The master bedroom is quite large and has an attached updated bathroom that has a window with an ocean view. Every room on the back side of the home has an ocean view. The 2nd Bedroom was very cozy and also had a television that worked off the Dish TV running in the master bedroom. The 3rd bedroom is smaller and contains 2 twin size beds and a clothes washer and dryer along with a cute little work desk. The sunroom was breathtaking with views of the beach. To the east you can see small islands lining the coast. You can also enter the sunroom via the deck which has the most breathtaking view of the entire property.
Not only is this cottage amazing, the local area has many wonderful places to visit from Boothbay Harbor, to Bath, to Freeport, down to Portland. I have never been in a more beautiful area with so much natural beauty in my entire life. I really felt blessed to be able to experience such an amazing home, and I hope everyone is lucky enough to enjoy a week in this cottage perfectly situated on the coast of Maine. I am already planning my next trip back to this little slice of New England American heaven. If you like blueberries and lobster staying at this cottage is an absolute must do!
# 403756 Waikomo Stream Villas, Poipu, South Shore, Kauai, Hawaii, USA, 1 BR, 1 BA, VILLA
Relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view on the lanai
10/06/2013 - What a perfect spot for a bear honeymoon! This was my first trip to Hawaii and I am very fortunate to have ended up at the Waikomo Stream Villa hosted by Jayne and Wes!
I was happy with the condo from my first steps into the unit – which was only steps from the parking that is right out front and free! The condo was very homey and allowed us to have a comfortable home base. The condo was also very breezy and we didn’t even need to use the A/C. The porch off the back of the unit had a nice table to enjoy refreshing drinks. We loved sitting out there and relaxing. There were lots of interesting fish in the stream including beautiful koi fish. The plant life at the property was beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. We also saw lizards, frogs and toads, which I loved! And waking up to the chirping birds in the morning was wonderful. That and the warm weather and sunshine made us never want to leave Poipu!
There were many different beaches and restaurants within walking distance. My husband and I ended up walking down to Poipu Beach every afternoon to go swimming and boogie boarding and do people watching. There are plenty of beaches to snorkel and watch for turtles. We would bring the cooler, chairs, beach towels, umbrella and boogie boards from the condo and have a great time at the beach. We loved all the suggestions on beaches, stores, restaurants, hikes and activities that Jayne and Wes left us. This was so helpful for us being first time guests to the island. There was so much to do nearby. But the condo is also very private and quiet and you aren’t surrounded by other guests at all time.
After a long day at the beach, the home had everything we needed to relax including WiFi, cable, 2 flatscreen TV’s and a fully equipped kitchen to make dinner.
We will be back! Maybe even before our 1st honeymoon!
# 251224 Cirencester, England, Europe, 2 BR, 2 BA, APARTMENT
Cozy accommodations with a view and a warm fire.
10/05/2013 - This was the perfect setting for a bear anniversary trip—it felt like a honeymoon! The Weaver’s Loft is in a centuries-old cottage nestled into the quintessential Cotswold village: green sloping hills, ancient footpaths, grazing sheep, winding streets. It is probably one of the most beautiful places on earth, and this bear family has travelled to quite a few.
If you want to get to know England beyond the tour bus, and really experience something essentially British, the Cotswolds is perfect—and Anna, the owner and our host, was a wonderful guide. We arrived at dinnertime, so Anna drove us up the hill to a tiny pub that we couldn’t have found on our own and has probably never found its way into a travel guide. Our dinner was hands-down excellent by any restaurant standards, and we were just in time to listen in on the local musicians who play there on Monday nights. Anna also introduced us to England’s footpaths—ancient paths that were there before the manor houses, polo fields, and grazing lands they wind through and which English law keeps open for the public. At the end of our days we could return to our cozy rooms with a view and a warm fire.
It’s hard to separate the Weaver’s Loft from its Golden Valley—the house seems to be a part of the Valley itself and Chalford seems to grow out of the landscape. We loved the history behind the home, but we especially enjoyed all the modern conveniences inside the loft. The obvious attention to detail in its design made it comfortable and easily livable, even for a long stay like ours. The kitchen cleverly hides the washer, dryer, and dishwasher units and a large well-stocked pantry—we could have entertained if we’d wanted to! Even the lighting and interior windows accounted for comfort and privacy. And did we mention the wood fire! At least one day of our trip was spent happily at home. We were on a trip for two, but we’re planning a return trip with little bears in tow. We also think it would be perfect for a shared trip with friends—the loft can sleep up to six comfortably.
We loved learning that Chalford is full of artists (Anna included!), and from there we ventured out easily to visit local sights—there are manor houses, ancient ruins, castles, gardens, and museums nearby. For us, it was easy to visit well known sights we’d always wanted to see, but this trip was really defined by the many sights and experiences we didn’t even know to expect.

Enjoying this cozy apartment and its great location
10/03/2013 - What a great apartment in Rome! We arrived after a long day of traveling to find fresh cannolis and wine awaiting our arrival. The owner, Alessio, was very helpful and arranged a car service for us ahead of time so we wouldn’t have to deal with taking a cab from the airport and locating the apartment ourselves. We were also sent a list of great restaurants to eat at which was super helpful. Being on our honeymoon, we very much enjoyed eating at all of the great restaurants Rome has to offer.
The apartment is in a great location, in a lively neighborhood with tons of restaurants and bars nearby. It is walking distance to almost every major attraction and is close to the Coliseum which was incredible. We only took a cab once our entire trip! There is a subway stop nearby if you don’t feel like taking a cab. We also liked having a convenient store close for toiletries and food.
The apartment is very clean and cozy with a nice comfortable king bed. We especially liked the cold AC and the kitchen. The kitchen had everything we needed including a coffee maker, plates, silverware and most importantly wine glasses and a wine opener! We opened the windows that lead to the street often and enjoyed hearing all of the hustle and bustle of the busy neighborhood but loved how quiet the room was when we closed the windows at night.
We also appreciated the free wifi which had a faster connection than any hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip. We are very thankful to have stayed here and hope to return someday!

I love this wonderful courtyard!
10/02/2013 - I found the perfect house to stay in on Mission Beach. From the moment I entered the courtyard and saw the Bird of Paradise blossoms and the palm trees I was in love. Upon entering the first floor there was a large bedroom with French doors leading out to that wonderful courtyard! After my travels, this bear wanted to just sit and take in the salty breeze, but there were two more levels of this house to explore.
Heading up the stairs took me into the bright and open living area/kitchen on the second floor. The wood floors, comfortable couches, fireplace and kitchen made me feel welcome. The owner provided helpful information about the area, the house and the router security code, so that the internet could be accessed. Also on the second floor I found a bedroom and a full bath. This bedroom even had a bed for baby bear!
On to the top floor! Wow! The third floor has a very large bedroom with beautiful windows that the California sun shines through making the room bright and cheery. There is a wonderful fireplace and storage shelves on one wall. The en suite bathroom had a tub and a separate shower, very convenient. But the best part of the third floor was the deck. The sunrises over Mission Bay were amazing. This deck was the place for morning coffee and evening star watching. We could see the Pacific Ocean to the west and Mission Bay to the east.
This house is laid out perfectly. It works for a family with small cubs and is very kid friendly. Our group included 6 adults and we all had privacy and quiet since there was a private bedroom and bathroom on each floor.
We enjoyed walking to great restaurants along Mission Beach Blvd for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was nice to leave the car parked in the garage and just walk around. This house is close to all the action, fun of Mission Beach and only 15 minutes from La Jolla or Downtown San Diego.
The home owner was a joy to work with and her attention to details and her charisma is well reflected in this property. I look forward to returning to San Diego and staying at this lovely home again!

This is a great place to enjoy the sand and water!
09/10/2013 - We can't wait to get back to this perfect beach condo! It looks even better in person, and the location and view can't be beat. The condo has one bedroom, but the layout and luxurious furnishings made it feel very spacious and comfortable for our family of four. The balcony furniture was high end, which made ocean gazing even more wonderful. The kitchen was outfitted with upgraded appliances and had absolutely everything we needed to cook our food each day. We loved getting a fresh catch of fish or shrimp from a nearby seafood market for dinner each night.
This is as close as you can get to the beach, with only the low lying dunes between you and gorgeous crystal green waters and soft sand. We loved being on the second floor; it meant we had a great view but could use the stairs or elevator. And we loved this condo building! It was very well taken care with a groundsman working all day to keep things tidy and ready for the guests to enjoy. There were two pools, one heated, and one not, and we used both since some days the wind picked up and made the heated pool just perfect for lounging in. The hot tub was also very hot and inviting!
If you are looking for a beautiful beach in Texas, South Padre Beach is the place! And this condo was the perfect way to enjoy it. Thanks for having us! Til next time..

Enjoying our time at our private villa!
09/09/2013 - Wow, this is one spoiled, relaxed, and rejuvenated bear! If you are the type of person who longs for the privacy of a house but enjoys the service of a hotel while on vacation, then this property is the place for you! From the moment we arrived at this lovely villa, we knew we had picked the perfect spot for our trip. We were offered fresh tropical drinks upon arrival and felt immediately at home.
Miguel and Liza were the perfect hosts – leading up to the trip Liza made sure we had all of the details we needed, from directions to transportation, and after we arrived Miguel helped us plan all of our activities. We really enjoyed our snorkeling trip at Puerto Morelos (only a 10 minute drive and they will pick you up at the villa) as well as checking out the nightlife in Playa Del Carmen (an easy 20 minute drive if you rent a car, which the bear recommends if you plan to explore the Mayan ruins or cenotes).
Most of all, we enjoyed soaking up the sun in the amazing full-sized poolside beds, jumping in the refreshing pool, and enjoying the waves on our very private beach (we felt like celebrities). If you walk further down the beach, you will hit a few crowded resorts with beachgoers crammed next to one another. Every time we walked by we thought, “We are so lucky to be in our private villa!”
Another perk of this property is Miguel’s fabulous cooking! We had the beef fajita welcome dinner as well as the authentic Mayan pork dinner. Not only were both meals delicious, but they are brought right to the villa at whatever time you specify, along with margaritas! What more could you ask for? Another treat that was my personal favorite was the lobster pizza – you’ve got to try it! If you do feel like cooking during your stay, the kitchen is fully stocked with ample fridge space and bottled water is provided. And if you want to pamper yourself even further, you can schedule a mani/pedi or massage right by the beach!
From the tranquil beach to the attentive hosts, this place was truly a gem! Thank you Liza and Miguel for the most wonderful vacation! We will be back at the next opportunity we have!
# 212456 The Elements, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, Mexico, 2 BR, 2 BA, CONDO
Everything you could want and more!
09/08/2013 - This bear was treated to a luxurious condominium in Playa del Carmen. Riviera Maya has beautiful beaches, an abundance of activities and diversions, and friendly locals.
The property is located right on the beach in an area of Playa del Carmen which is close to all the entertainment on 5th Avenue yet quiet enough to escape the crowds at night. When you first open the door, you’ll be impressed by the “Wow” factor. The condo itself has a nice big living area and open kitchen with upscale furniture and lighting. Right off the living room there is a large patio where you have stellar views of the Mexican Caribbean. A nice big outdoor sectional and table and chairs make it a great place to have breakfast or enjoy the ocean breeze at sunset. The interior has a chic, modern décor, and includes details such as natural stone floors, granite countertops, satellite TV, wifi, and oversized bathrooms with rain showers. The kitchen is more than fully stocked with supplies.
The condo is located in the Elements complex, which has an array of amenities including daily maid service, a concierge, a fitness center, business lounge, airport transfers, and a fantastic pool & jacuzzi. It also has access to its own private beach, complete with umbrellas and comfy chairs. The staff is very friendly and willing to help whenever they can.
Restaurants are nearby, and you can choose among any number of international cuisines. If you’d rather stay home, the kitchen is fully equipped. You can even have the staff stock your kitchen with food when you arrive or have a chef come in to cook a specially prepared meal. Another option is to have food delivered from a number of the local restaurants.
From the beach area, you can walk to some of the most famous spots along the beach including Mamitas, and you are near two dive and snorkel spots. This bear took advantage of the world-class diving in some of the unique cenotes nearby, which are underground caves filled with crystal clear water, and over on the island of Cozumel which was just a ferry ride away. The condo is just one hour from Cancun by car, and you can enjoy excursions to places like Tulum and Cozumel which are both within an hour by car and ferry, respectively.
All in all it is a great way to enjoy Playa del Carmen.

Leaving our dream house on an ATV adventure!
09/07/2013 - Best family trip ever – perfect place to relax and play
In all of our bear family adventures, we have never come across a more perfect beach house than Casa de las Palmas. We were a family of 12 (3 generations with 8 adults and 4 children under the age of four) – and the home provided the perfect retreat for each of us. The property has something for everyone and provides space, privacy and comfort across the board. We particularly appreciated the family friendliness. We felt secure with a gated property that kept the children from wandering onto the beach or off the property. Additionally, the pool is child-proofed with an incredible shallow lounge section perfect for accompanied kiddos to take a dip. The homeowner also provides games for children (video games, Disney movies, beach gear and even a train set) and adults (snorkel gear, ping pong, satellite TV and internet). More importantly, the natural beauty and nearby outdoor activities (steps from the back porch) kept us busy and having fun. We stand-up paddle boarded every day and the marine life just outside the home is incredible – schools of fish, manta rays, dolphins, tortoises and more!
The views from the common areas and patio are unrivaled. You can see clear waters, white beaches and mountains in the distance. On several occasions, we saw dolphins and tortoises in the ocean from our patio. The layout of the house is perfect for multiple families. There is a grand common area with huge patio and views, and comfortable lounge furniture to relax and enjoy the sun or shade. The bedrooms are organized in 3 wings. The main common area includes a bedroom and bathroom. Additionally, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms connected to the main house by covered patios. Finally, there are wonderful casitas (2BR/2BA) with a covered patio overlooking the pool – and across a cobblestone walkway from the main house. The beds are comfortable, and the owner provided 2 cribs for our infant children.
Finally, the homeowner went above and beyond to be sure we had a great time. She arranged for us to hire local chefs to prepare every lunch and dinner (much better value than eating out, and much less stressful than cooking in). Additionally, she connected us with local companies for fishing excursions (we were picked up by a boat at our house), ATV tours (pick-up and delivery at our house – an awesome adventure) and spa treatments. Every day we took on a new activity – and also found time to just relax at the great private pool and beautiful beach at the home.

Enjoying the magnificent views!
08/24/2013 - If you are looking for a secluded private paradise, Toucan Blue is the perfect destination. To reach the house you drive across a sturdy private bridge though a gorgeous mangrove forest that is bursting with life. If you stop and look you will see crabs, lizards, birds, and who knows what else! The sand is white, the water is blue, a one of a kind reef lies a short distance from the shore, and the area is private and peaceful.
The home is made for outdoor living and sitting on the covered porch staring out at the sea is hard to beat! We stayed during some of the hottest days of the year and found the shade and the breeze of the patio perfect! The rooms are very private and comfortable. If you want a peaceful getaway the property has everything you need to hide away for days. If you are looking for a home-base to return to after long days of exploring this beautiful home is situated near the middle of the island and not far from many exciting activities. The next property over is home to the popular Subway Dive Shop where you can contract for an afternoon of snorkeling or become scuba certified!
Amazing restaurants are a quick trip in either direction. You can find raked and manicured beaches close by if you want drink service while lounging near the water but the big hotels and tourist areas are a good bit away so you won't find crowds and chaos. This area of the island is for those looking to find their own path. When it was time to head for the plane home we all felt very sad to be leaving our beautiful and peaceful paradise.
# 257262 Queen Anne, Seattle, Puget Sound, Washington State, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, HOUSE
Relax in front of a nice fire in the spacious living room.
08/21/2013 - The moment we pulled up to the house, we knew that we had discovered a gem in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. The owner of the 3,100 sq ft home helped make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. As we walked up the walkway, we were greeted with a lovely scent from the garden. Opening the front door, we were welcomed with fresh flowers. The pristine kitchen had the most beautiful backsplash, a Viking range stove/oven and stainless steel refrigerator. It was fully stocked with plates, flatware, cooking utensils, pots/pans, placemats, glasses, coffee, coffee filters, anything and everything needed to enjoy a beautiful breakfast or cook a decadent meal.
Upstairs to the left was a bedroom with 2 twin beds, and the second bedroom had a queen size bed facing the Puget Sound and a full bath. The master bedroom and bath were elegant and perfect. The master bathroom had marble floors and marble tiling in the all glass shower, and marble countertops for the dual vanity sinks. Above the master bathtub was a beautiful chandelier. Beneath the first floor was a game room with a flat screen TV, 2 comfortable couches and plenty of board games to play. We opened the back door and found a beautiful back yard with a slate patio and grill.
Holly (the owner) told us about Café Fiorre, the best coffee shops, the best nearby supermarkets (Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Safeway) and the best restaurants in the area. Just 2 blocks from the house was Kerry Park, which had an amazing view of downtown Seattle, Mt Rainer, Puget Sound and other beautiful sights.
We had a wonderful week in Seattle. Thank you to Holly for providing a beautiful home for our stay.

The city is right outside your door!
08/20/2013 - It was such a treat to stay in this gorgeous, spacious, luxury Paris apartment in the Marais. We arrived late at night after 18 hours of traveling, and we were thrilled to find such a stunning bathroom with rainfall shower (with great water pressure to boot!) and a heavenly soft, white bed. Days were spent traipsing through the Marais and all over Paris, and we returned each night before dinner for a quick nap on the huge, incredibly comfortable couch watching DVDs on the flat screen. Adjusting to the time change was no problem thanks to this apartment.
We were so near fun shops, food markets, the best falafel in town (L'As). We had one of our best meals in Paris only blocks away from the apartment, at L'Auberge Nicolas Flamel, which the owner suggested to us. As far as convenience goes, the metro stop is right outside and there are plenty of taxis nearby, as well. We are already having Paris withdrawals and hope to return to this dreamy apartment soon!
# 180596 South Zone, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexican Riviera, Mexico, 4 BR, 4 BA, VILLA
Breathtaking views from the deck.
08/17/2013 - What an amazing Luxury Villa, highly recommended by the Bear family! We were greeted with VIP services which included being picked up at the airport. When we arrived at the villa there was fresh guacamole with pico and amazing homemade margaritas by the owner and host Adrian! We were shown around the home and the ample amenities were pointed out to us.
The villa has breathtaking views of Banderas Bay where we enjoyed the sunrise each day and breakfast prepared by Monica. Every morning we had the chance to see dolphins and pelicans playing in the ocean right from the deck. August may be known as Puerto Vallarta’s rainy season, but we had sunshine all day with great sunsets and beautiful lightning shows coming over the mountains of the Sierra Madre Mountains. The welcomed rain cooled things off almost every night.
Every room in the villa has stunning decorations. The blown glass, local art, carved wood and special lighting around the home has a fascinating touch. You will be delighted with new discoveries around the house that you didn’t notice the day prior. Because this is the owner’s home she has given her very best down to every last detail, including a fan in every room. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more. The master bedroom has a grandiose view of the ocean from the shower. The spacious bedrooms offer splendid bedding. The bathrooms have unique water features in blown glass water containers and drinking glasses for added comfort. The pool overlooks the vast Pacific Ocean, and has a beautiful angelfish water fountain and a marvelous turtle with a mosaic inlay.
Every evening we were totally relaxed and pampered. If there is something you need, they have it. They even offer in house massage for a special rate. Daily cleaning, breakfast made and if you wish to go on an excursion, they know just where to send you. Snorkeling, diving, zip lining, fishing and dinner cruises are some of the best in the world. If you like to Tango or Yoga, this villa is the place to go!
The home is located in the most beautiful part of Puerto Vallarta and close to everything. We took walks around the neighborhood on the beautiful cobblestone streets enjoying the hillside vegetation with colorful bougainvillea, geranium, hibiscus, and splendid ferns. The local beach is just below the home as well as the romantic zone and downtown square known as the Malecon, all just a short cab ride away. They have wonderful evenings with live music and dancing in the square where the locals come out and celebrate life with music, dancing and great shopping.
# 354082 Westwinds, Sandestin Area, Destin Area, Florida North West, Florida, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, CONDO
Taking in refreshing gulf breezes, check out the view!
08/17/2013 - This condo is the perfect place to spend a beach vacation. It is just an elevator ride away from a beautiful, white-sand beach with clear, blue water.
The first thing we noticed in when walking into the condo is how open it is. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are all open to each other, which is great for a family wanting to spend time together. We spent our evenings playing family games in the living room and cards in the dining room. The bedrooms both have private bathrooms, comfortable seating and flat-screen televisions.
The kitchen is light, airy and well equipped with pots, pans, bowls, utensils and everything else you need to enjoy preparing a great meal. We got fresh fish and shrimp from a market in Destin and made some excellent dinners here. Since we were so close to the beach, we were able to eat shrimp and pasta at lunch instead of being limited to packing lunch or eating beach food.
Of course the beach is the main attraction here, and this is an incredible beach. The sand is snow white, the water is cool and clear, and the waves are just right for boogie boarding. The beach is reserved for Westwinds guests, so it isn't crowded. There is a beach-side hut where you can get a snack, snow cones, or a drink.
We found two other features of this condo that were great for a beach vacation. The keyless entry is convenient, and means you don't have to remember to bring your key when you inevitably have to run back to the condo to grab something you forgot. The laundry room is situated right next to the entrance, so you can stash your sandy towels and beach toys there and leave the rest of the condo sand-free.
# 317923 La Romana, Dominican Republic, Caribbean, 8 BR, 8 BA, VILLA
Enjoy the beautiful view of Casa de Campo while relaxing on the balcony
08/16/2013 - We had the pleasure of spending a whole week in the Dominican Republic in what has to be one of the most beautiful vacation homes we have ever experienced. We arrived at Casa de Campo early in the morning around 7AM, and were guided to Barranca 2. There we were greeted by our waitress for the week; she gave us a tour of the grounds, and then served us the first of many delicious meals that we would enjoy during our stay.
The villa is huge, and both the rooms and landscape were something you might see in a magazine. It consisted of a total of 8 bedrooms spread across four separate quarters. The property was spacious, and gave full privacy from all other villas. The bedrooms were all well-appointed with beautiful furniture and ample toiletries. The master bedrooms both have huge sauna tubs, and a couple of the guest bedrooms had outdoor showers. One of the master bedrooms is located above the dining room, and it had a large balcony with a beautiful view of both the lush green of Casa de Campo, as well as a distant view of the ocean. Both the pool and hot tub were huge, and the staff kept them immaculately clean the whole time we were there.
I highly recommend requesting both the personal chef and waitress, and all of the staff for that matter. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, and the food was amazing. The chef handled going to the store for us each day, purchasing whatever we asked for, and the waitress always checked on us to see if we wanted anything to eat or drink; I’ve never felt so pampered in my life.
We also had a pair of golf carts which were very handy for getting around Casa de Campo. Beyond the beautiful villa, you are surrounded by the lush landscape of Casa de Campo. There is a beach which you can take either your car or golf carts to, as well as a marina, grocery store, restaurants, golf course, and gas station. It is basically a fully functioning city.
We loved every aspect of our amazing rental, as well as the awesome staff that helped to make our stay all the more memorable.

Catching some rays with the iguanas by the beach!
08/12/2013 - “Our HomeAway in Paradise” was the first thing we said as we walked through the door. Immediately we knew we had chosen something
The breathtaking views from the living room were the first thing we saw as we stepped in the door. As we walked through the condo for the first time, we were impressed that the condo felt so much like a home. We were instantly comfortable and relaxed.
The master bedroom had the most comfortable king size bed and an entire wall made of windows. It felt like we were sleeping and waking up on the actual ocean with this window. The view was amazing! We did not stay in the guest room, but we saw that it had the same luxuries as the master. Some might say it is a double master condo.
I would say the nicest part of the condo was the kitchen. It reminded me of my home with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a blender that made the perfect frozen margaritas! The kitchen proved to be the most useful room in the condo. It was easily manageable and cost efficient. We found it useful to eat breakfast and bring lunch to our daily adventures.
Our favorite place in the condo was the patio. Every meal and free moment was spent there gazing at the prettiest ocean one has ever seen.
The condo was conveniently located on Seven Mile Beach and had great snorkeling. This Bear family would highly recommend this condo to anyone and everyone!

Enjoying the beautiful scenery!
08/09/2013 - What a lucky bear family we are to have stayed at this absolutely ideal beach house!
Nestled in the quiet town of Surfside Beach, we had nearly absolute privacy. We were however, a thirty-minute drive away from Galveston Island which has entertainment and activities-a-plenty for bears of any age.
The Fish House, as it's titled, is nicely appointed so we were able to make beautiful meals in the open and airy kitchen. There is a large and sturdy outdoor table to enjoy those meals with endless views of the waves. A roomy deck wraps around three sides of the house and there are two bonus balconies on each side of the second floor. This momma bear got to enjoy her coffee while relaxing in the morning breezes from each side of the house and watching the cranes and seagulls fish for breakfast.
This is the kind of house that makes you want to go home and redecorate your bear cave. The Fish House has a definite style and lots of it. You can absolutely feel the love and attention that is afforded with the decor and amenities. There is a gorgeous clawfoot tub in the master suite, beautiful linens and soft towels. The upstairs living room is so perfect for snuggling up with the cubs and watching movies before bed--and that is exactly what we did. It was a great way to unwind after hours in the ocean.
Speaking of the ocean, Fish House is close enough to the beach that my little three year-old cub could walk unassisted and carry his pail and shovels. The house has a garage with beach toys, boogie boards and more plus an invaluable outdoor shower to get the sand out of your fur and leave the beach outside.
I have and will continue to recommend this house to anyone in need of a relaxing and serene vacation with family or group of friends.
# 98704 Nuevo Arenal, Lake Arenal, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Central America, 6 BR, 6 BA, VILLA
Nature at your doorstep!
08/07/2013 - What a perfect home in Costa Rica! The Sunset’s magnificent vistas of the Lake and Volcano are amazing! The house is perched high in the cloud forest, secluded and so, so private, situated within easy trips to the activities of La Fortuna, Nuevo Arenal, Canas and 2.5 hours from a Pacific Coast beach day. Activities are located from ten minutes to an hour away. Patrick was always ready with suggestions for amazing activities and he made all the reservations for us!
There are lots of areas for local hiking and exploration right outside the house. We bears really appreciate nature and there is much to explore!
The climate is perfect. It is cool and crisp, with temperatures that fluctuate from the 60’s to the high 80’s and virtually bug free, due to the constant breezes. They even have air conditioning!
As a hungry bear I really loved the included breakfasts. They are hearty and delicious, with a lot of variety, everything made from scratch. We usually skipped lunch! We also enjoyed the dinner service, it was great after a long day of touring to relax in the home with a freshly prepared, delicious, homemade dinner. So you can enjoy a second (or third ; ) glass of wine and unwind. Patrick even provided a birthday celebration dinner for us; I heard he does anniversaries too!
The indoor pool house was such a great spot to enjoy the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, ping pong and weights, regardless of the weather outside. This is only home in the region that offers this.
It was great to have high speed internet to check all of our emails too. The house has everything you need - you will want to stay forever!
# 79324 Mendocino, North Coast, California, USA, 2 BR, 1 BA, COTTAGE
A bit of paradise on the Mendocino coast!!
08/05/2013 - When arriving at Cottontail Acres the first thing I noticed was the incredible views of the Point Arena Light House and the ocean. As a bear I appreciate nature and this 9 acre bit of paradise on the Mendocino coast was just what I needed to relax, recharge my batteries and enjoy myself. A few friends and I enjoyed golfing at the Little River Inn Golf course and we found some fabulous restaurants in Mendocino. Manchester Beach was our back yard and we enjoyed the serene beauty of a virtually private coastal experience. The beach was dotted with interesting driftwood sculptures that captivated our senses.
When in the mood to stay in and relax after a long day we took advantage of the large movie collection. The long dining room table allowed us a chance to play poker and was comfortable for our group of 7 large bears and even had a lot of room for more bears if necessary.
We liked the loft and the accents of the home and enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to music as the sun went down. The observation deck halfway down the path to the beach was also a favorite spot to sit and meditate while enjoying the expansive ocean view. One time we saw a pair of hawks wing their way through the cool air above. The privacy and almost total serenity of this house is one thing that will draw us back to Cottontail Acres at some point, I am sure. This was easily one of the most beautiful locations this bear has ever visited.

Ahhh, living the life of luxury!
08/03/2013 - The VRBO Bear loved being able to stay at this beautiful condo in Orange Beach! With being so close to the white sandy beaches, all of the wonderful shopping and good sea food restaurants, it was a fun filled week for all of us and the Bear!
When we first arrived, we were in awe of the gorgeous kitchen, huge windows overlooking the bay and luxurious master bathroom. The master bathroom’s soaking tub, large glass shower and vanities are sure to make anyone feel they are living in the life of luxury! The condo was huge and had plenty of room for all of us to cook together in the kitchen and then gather around for meals. Being so close to Bella Luna’s pools, hot tub, sauna, and the beach, it was a very enjoyable week with plenty of relaxation.
Each room had their own TV with super comfy beds which gave us all plenty of rest for our days at the beach. We enjoyed boogie boarding and getting some sun while watching dolphins playing off in the distance. It was a great vacation and would be a perfect place to stay for anyone coming to Orange Beach!

Enjoying the mountain air from our balcony!
07/24/2013 - This Bear cannot get enough of the Colorado Mountains! The condo here in the Durango Mountain Resort was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The owners supplied everything I needed for making meals and gave me the good idea to stop in Durango for groceries before heading up the hill to the condo (a short 25 minutes from town).
There was so much to do at the Durango Mountain Resort, I found myself trying new things every day. The Alpine Slide, the Bungee Trampoline and a Zip Line were all just a two minute walk from the condo! The beds were comfy, the pool was heated and the short drive to downtown Durango made this a perfect location for us.
There were tons of great places to eat and shop, like the Steamworks Brewery. They had outstanding burgers with unique flavors. And the bear cubs really liked the Toy Depot – with reasonable prices and unique toys for all ages. On the way to the condo was Honeyville. You know I had to stop there and stock up on some local honey, jam and syrup. Yum Yum!
# 176138 Lower Matecumbe Key, Islamorada Area, Florida Keys, Florida, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, HOUSE
Ocean and canal views right out your door!
07/06/2013 - “Chesa Mare” says it all! The moment I arrived I knew my visit would be a dream. The home on Leserra Lane offered plenty of room for a relaxing week on the water. 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms is plenty of space to spread out. The outdoor space is even better! The wrap around decks on the 2nd and 3rd levels is spectacular! The view over coffee couldn’t get more beautiful. Views of the canal and the open ocean never get old.
The whimsical decorative touches added so much fun! I made a new friend in the Pelican! Sand dollars are in each screen door and since every room has at least one sliding glass door onto the decks, that is a lot of screen doors. The owners helped make my whole experience so much easier and entertaining. They provided a booklet filled with things to do in the area and a pass to get in to the 4th of July fireworks at a local resort. You haven’t seen fireworks until you’ve seen them over the water!
This home is set up with everything you need from home. From multiple coffee pot options to beach towels and the washer and dryer – all was perfect for a week long stay. The kitchen provided everything needed for preparing each meal as well as picnic lunches to take on the go. This bear even prepared the days catch and made hush puppies to go with it! The dining room table quickly became the center of the home. Aside from meals, it quickly displayed souvenirs and mementoes from my explorations. There was plenty of room for it all.
I couldn’t have asked for a better home to accompany my trip to the Keys!

# 314887 Annapolis, Central, Maryland, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, CONDO
Relaxing with friends.
07/02/2013 - This Bear is gobsmacked and I am still pinching myself, not fully believing that I stayed in such a fantastic property. This converted church is literally in the middle of it all in historic downtown Annapolis. There is so much to do to right outside the door, but this vacation rental is so nice, the Bear felt completely at ease just kicking back and playing chess with one of the cubs instead of exploring the hustle-and-bustle.
Entering the front door is a treat with a grand staircase leading immediately up. At first, the Bear was a little concerned about lugging the, well, luggage up stairs. But then the Bear found the private elevator.
Entering the main floor with the living room was an astounding experience. A very well-apportioned kitchen faced huge clear-and stained-glass window with a commanding view of the Maryland State House. Preparing coffee in the morning with this view was a special treat. The Bose surround sound stereo system married to the flat panel TV made for a nice place to cool the paws and the wet bar provided everything else.
The next floor up is the main suite. The Bear still cannot believe waking up in a church on a Sunday morning, but a Bear’s life is a varied one. This suite looks out upon the same view as the kitchen, giving a great “good morning” to Annapolis. The master bath with the large whirlpool tub and separate walk-in shower provided ample soak-and-clean time. At first, I was a little concerned about the privacy of the tub, but then I found the switch that controls the electronic glass panel. Up -> clear. Down -> opaque. I could have thrown that switch all day, but if I did, I would have missed going up to the top floor.
The top floor (the 4th from the street) is where the cubs stayed. There was plenty of space with beds, day beds, and hide-a-beds. Very nice faux stucco covering the not-so-faux brick made for a visually appealing space.
One more space to talk about – the Bell Tower. The church’s conversion went all-the-way to the belfry and the bell tower is now a very nice little nook with another wetbar and minifridge. The entire Bear Family had hors d’oeuvres up there as we peeked out of the windows.
The Bear has stayed in some pretty nice places. This property in downtown Annapolis is right up at the top of them. Great property, great location, and a great time.
# 392981 Simpson Bay, St Maarten, St. Martin (St Maarten), Caribbean, 2 BR, 2 BA, CONDO
A picture perfect vacation!
06/24/2013 - This trip was filled with “Kodiak” moments. But seriously, this bear loved every moment spent in this beautiful condo nestled on the semi-private Simpson Bay Beach!
When we arrived at the Las Arenas complex (which was just a 5 minute drive from the airport), we were greeted by the on-site security guard as we pulled into our designated parking space for the week. When we rounded the corner, we had a truly picturesque view – an infinity pool with lounge chairs overlooking the beach and cerulean waters of the Caribbean Sea. I could “bear-ly” believe my eyes! The beach was semi-private and is arguably the quietest (but one of the most beautiful) beaches on the island. Waking up to go running along the beach, which was just a few steps away from our condo, was a nice treat…better than a pot of honey!
The island of St. Maarten is a bustle of activity, with so many fun activities available including horseback riding, ziplining, and parasailing. I had to “paws” and look around at the beautiful scenery with every stop! The owner provided all the materials needed to settle in, including a cell phone to make local calls (supported by a phone card)! We also had a list of recommended restaurants and activities from the owner, which we took full advantage of. It was a very fun adventure and my thanks goes to the owner for “pre-bearing” us for our vacation. It was “paws-ibly” the best trip this bear has ever taken!

Enjoying the great view from this bright, wonderful room
06/20/2013 - I felt right at home in this log cabin on Lake Vermilion. Natural light flows throughout this cabin because of the large windows that give a view of the lake at almost every turn. It’s very spacious, with plenty of room upstairs and downstairs. The large shower, fluffy towels and comfortable couches added to the overall comfort of this home. There are four bedrooms so there was plenty of room for everyone. The upstairs living room in particular was a hit for my group because could relax and watch TV while looking at the amazing views of the lake. Outside there is a grill for cooking up a nice steak dinner which we also used to cook the fresh fish we caught from the dock.
The property is just steps away from the amazing Lake Vermilion. We took a boat out and enjoyed a day on the lake, catching many fish. The cabin is very close to a town called Ely, which is a beautiful town to go shopping and has awesome restaurants. You’ll find a grocery store nearby that has a surprisingly wide selection of items – most everything you would need for great meals at the cabin. It’s also nice to know that there’s a place nearby to buy essentials that you may have left at home. We enjoyed visiting the Wolf Museum in Ely.
For the perfect secluded spot to get away but still enjoy all the conveniences of home, try this wonderful log cabin on Lake Vermilion for your next vacation!

“Relaxed and ready to hit the surf!”
06/18/2013 - Solana Beach is a beautiful community near San Diego and this spectacular home overlooks the sandy beach and all the surfing action. This Bear is duly impressed!
We were amazed at the wonderful views from BOTH patios of this beach home. The bear cubs couldn’t wait to take the short walk down to the beach and swim in the rolling waves. They also loved playing at the nearby park on the way to the beach. There were plenty of beach chairs and boogie boards available to keep the whole family relaxed and busy.
This home is very comfortable with plenty of room for a family of bears to spread out. We especially loved the cool ocean breeze that flowed through the patio doors. The kitchen is very up-to-date and has everything you need to do some cooking after a long day at the beach. The cubs were kept entertained by all the videos and games that were provided and they loved their comfy beds to recover from their busy days.
Mr. and Mrs. Bear really appreciated the private gated parking and the remarkably easy access from the garage to the front door. And we all loved how close the pool and hot tub were – steps from the front door! The Owner is very helpful and great to work with - she will help make your vacation memorable!
Don’t miss your chance to enjoy Solana Beach and stay at this fantastic home!
