  • The Haiflich Family

"We had an awesome time at this home. We were in town to visit family. Everyone congregated here and it was comfortable enough for all our guests. We made dinners and visited while the kids enjoyed the playhouse , slide and trampoline out back as well as the table tennis and tether ball out front. My little girls found the toys and it was such a treat to have lots of books to read to them. My big boys totally dug the entertainment system and when the cousins came over they had movie night on the big screen. Very comfortable beds. Quiet neighborhood. Close to everything. Boogie boards and beach toys in the garage. A bottle of wine on arrival....we made treasured memories here, for sure!! My only tip to incoming guests is that the house doesn't get a lot of breeze because of the higher homes above it to the rear. We turned the oven on the first night and it heated up the house. It was already unseasonably warm temps. We then decided to use the crock pot, which we were happy to find! There is also a grill out back. Great home! Beats a hotel anyday!!!"

  • Magical Montisole, near Cortona, Arezzo Province, Italy

"My family (daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters, ages 7 & 9) just returned from a truly magical week at Casa Montisole. The advert I read before I booked 6 months in advance didn't do it justice! It is an old stone and wood farmhouse with several levels, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable, very clean and well-maintained. It really is a home away from home, with many amenities all of which were in perfect working order. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms modern with continuous hot water. The kitchen was well-fitted out with every conceivable (& expensive) piece of cookware necessary for a family of up to 8. The surrounding garden and further, the countryside, is etched in my mind forever! The pool was inviting and large enough for (non-Olympic) laps and is beautifully situated on the property. It comes with chaise lounges and umbrellas, as the sun is very strong. We particularly enjoyed going into Mercatale, (the nearest small village about a ten minute drive) for our morning breads from the local bakery. Also in Mercatale was "Mimmi's", a ristorante we visited twice as the food was family style (no menu) and absolutely the best pasta we had the two weeks we were in Italy... Our daily excursions took us to Arezzo, Siena, Gubbio, Lago Trasimeno and Montepulchiano. All were exciting adventures with lots of challenging driving. Every village and hill town was different and had plenty to offer tourists. I can honestly speak for my family when I say that we never had a bad meal anywhere in Italy, but especially in Tuscany and Umbria. I would highly recommend Casa Montisole as the perfect vacation spot to bask in glorious countryside and forget the problems of the world. It was an unforgettable holiday! Having just done my laundry, I'm ready to re-pack and return to that beautiful house."

  • Great apartment

"Hi traveler. We spent 3 nights in this lovely apartment recently. We loved it and would return. As per other comments, the 1 1/2 story climb may not be for a person with stair issues but we were helped with our luggage so that made it easier. Great location in St Germain. 2 subway lines nearby. Walk to Notre Dame, New Pont (bridge). Plenty of restaurants on the street or nearby. Best Italian food I ever had was on this street. Groceries 10 minute walk. Pastries 2 minutes. Provided with Nespresso coffee Pods and bread .. so nice. also mentioned .. noisy talkers on street in evening but close the window and you will be OK. Safe neighbourhood. Great Bed, TV, shower, stove and supplies to cook. Price was right as far as I am concerned. Sleeps 4 with couch, I believe, so kids would not be an issue. Enjoy the "hood""
