  • Very comfortable apartment in a great location

"We stayed here for 4 nights recently and really enjoyed it. Great restaurants - for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - are in easy walking distance (as are some shops). The location is also very convenient to many of the activities we wanted to do when visiting the Cape Town area - e.g., visits to the penguins, Cape Peninsula, the Winelands, and of course, Cape Town itself. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and easily accommodated our family of five."

  • Amazing holiday in the Seychelles

"Stayed in this property for 3 weeks and we was very impressed with the accommodation, truly the best self catering property I have ever stayed in whilst on holiday in the Seychelles. The accommodation was perfect; charming, clean and modern, a true 5 star accommodation, beautiful and very well equipped. On arrival to the apartment instantly felt at home which was wonderful, the apartment was immaculately clean, with exceptionally large comfortable beds and enormous powerful showers and bath with such tasteful and modern furnishing, truly a five star accommodation, with all the amenities you could possibly need to make this a home away from home with stunning views from each window, the apartment is just as beautiful as it is in the pictures on site. So impressed with the very high standard of accommodation, the excellent service and basically the smooth running of the entire setup at Eden Island, everything you need is on site , from the supermarket to the restaurants and private beaches. The properties is situated in a magnificent location, the main view is a marina with turquoise water so you can sit there all day long and enjoy. I will most definitely stay there again and would 100% recommend this property to anyone visiting the Seychelles. The Owner Peter was very helpful and responded back to any questions I had and provided peace of mind knowing that both him and the staff at Eden Island where at hand if I needed to reach them, a big thank you to him , very friendly and helpful team from Eden Island was always greeted with a friendly smile. Looking forward to my next staying with you again next year 2015"

South Africa Travel Tips

Getting to South Africa Vacation Rentals

South Africa has three international airports located in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Most flights from North America and Europe route to either Johannesburg or Cape Town. Johannesburg International is also known as O R Tambo International Airport and the major hub for visitors wanting to travel on to the Kruger National Park, the Drakensberg Mountains and other parts of the country. In South Africa, the best way to get around is by hiring a car. There is an extensive road network that provides access to all major tourist attractions. If you are not comfortable with driving, then you can organize a chauffeur-driven car rental or a tour guide to take you around. Airport-to-city transfers can easily be arranged and most major cities have taxis that provide point-to-point transportation.

A Year-Round Destination at South Africa House Rentals

South Africa is a destination that can be visited all year-round. The different regions have varying climates because of their unique topography and geographical location. The east coast is significantly warmer and more humid all year-round. The summertime temperatures frequently exceed 30 degrees Centigrade and humidity is usually more than 80 percent. As you travel further inland, the Drakensberg Mountains form an escarpment to the plateau that dominates the interior of the country. The region around Johannesburg has a more continental climate due to its altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. Summers are hot with thundershowers and winter months are cold overnight but warm up significantly during the day. The Lowveld region, where the Kruger Park is located, is very hot in summer and has relatively mild winters. Game viewing is often better in the winter season but can be enjoyed throughout the year. Cape Town and the Western Cape have a Mediterranean climate which results in hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. The best time of year to visit Cape Town is between February and April where you can enjoy long summer days and great sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.

In Cape Town, you can take a ferry tour to Robben Island which was the prison where Nelson Mandela was held a political prisoner for more than 30 years.

South Africa’s other major attraction is its wildlife. There are hundreds of national and private game reserves throughout the country that provide excellent game viewing experiences. For the more adventurous, you can enjoy bush walks where you can get close to the animals in their natural environment. The Kruger National Park was South Africa’s first reserve and is still the largest in the country.
