China Travel Tips

Getting to China Vacation Rentals

There are several major airport hubs in China and your destination will determine which airport is best for your arrival. If you plan to take in the historical and cultural sights of the capital city, it is most likely that you will travel to Beijing. The international airport is located just outside of the city and well connected through the public transportation systems. There are regularly scheduled flights from other major Southeast Asian cities as well as from North America and Australia. Alternate international airports can be found in Shanghai or Hong Kong. The airports are well equipped for international travelers and have easy access to taxis and public transportation systems. It’s not recommended to hire a car in China as driving is very challenging. Cities are highly congested; trains, city trams and monorails are far more efficient ways to get around the country. If you plan to head into more rural areas for sightseeing, you can make use of buses or hire a vehicle with a driver and guide to take you around.

Most Popular Seasons to Stay in Vacation Apartments in China

China is a country of extreme and diverse landscapes, and the climate varies accordingly. In Beijing, the summers can be sweltering and hot, interspersed with heavy rain showers which add to the humidity. Wintertime usually brings temperatures well below freezing. In general, the most popular time of year to visit is during August and September which are the autumn months. During this time, the temperatures are generally more moderate. Shanghai is located much further south and has a milder and more sub-tropical climate. The best seasons to travel are either spring, which is from March to May, or autumn which is September and October. Hong Kong has a tropical climate and during the summer months of June and July, the temperatures and humidity can get very high. Like many other parts of China, the more temperate seasons of spring and autumn are considered the best times of year to visit.
