  • Very nice place to stay

"I was very happy to stay during 3 weeks at this place. This place is not far away from the center; about 15 minutes walk. Nice swimming pool. Supermarket about 5 minutes. Not Noisy. The staff is very polite and helpful. I would like to go there next time."

  • Family of 8

"Set back from the main road, this villa feels like home, complete with cat, traditional furnishings, artworks and even musical instruments. We loved the outdoor bathroom and I really appreciated the various, fresh flower arrangements around the villa, all using plants from the garden. Great views from the upstairs bedroom balconies and plenty of flexibility in terms of number of guests and space, given the option to make use, or not, of the Lumbong. The 2 main bedrooms are large enough that an extra single mattress can be laid out on the floor if needed. It is a perfect location to enjoy the tranquillity Bali is so famous for, yet only a 5 minute ride to the centre of town and all the attractions Ubud has to offer. We watched the farmers planting rice right outside the villa and were able to enjoy ceremonial processions passing by en route to the temple. On our arrival, it was lovely to be greeted by Made and a tray of homemade ginger drinks - refreshing and delicious, and served with straws made of bamboo. Within no time at all motorbikes were organised on our behalf and we able to set off and explore! Hope very much to return one day."

  • Paradise without needing a cab ride

"We had our third stay in Villa satori in October - after heading to Ubud for the readers and writers festival. Once again Villa Satori was like coming back to our home away from home. its the perfect place to reconnect with yourself ,your relationship, nature and kind and beautiful people all around. Just sitting on the balcony watching village life and the ducks is a restorative exercise. Highly recommend Villa Satori if you have been working hard and truly need to relax. The best thing about it too is that you can have this tranquility without needing to be a taxi ride from Ubud. A short 10 minute still down Jalan Kajang will have you in the thick of it in no time. Wayan and Ketut are incredibly helpful and will organise just about anything for you. Wine and cheese and other assorted western indulgences can be procured from the Bintang supermarket if you want to stock the fridge and just stay put - its not a bad option!!! Clean with beautiful decor and attention to detail this Villa is the best value in Ubud. The pool is glorious. Thanks again to Kasey for making the magic happen. Felicite and Ross"

  • Villa Madu is the best value luxury villa in Ubud. It's also GAY FRIENDLY!

"This is actually my second visit to Villa Madu. I have stayed at many villas in Ubud over the years but if I am with a group of 4 or more people, this is my absolute favourite. It is 5 mins walk to Ubud Central Post Office and Ubud Market. However, when you are within the grounds of Villa Madu you really think you could be in a beautifully manicured jungle. The view is beautiful from every room in the house and the little Joglos at the bottom of the property. The staff were wonderful. Dewa and Wayan are always ready to help with any requests no matter what. Nurdi the wonderful cook was so happy to accommodate us with friends' sometimes odd dietary requirements. The photos on this site don't do the villa justice. It really is a very special place with that old time bali feel but with all the modern comforts required. I definitely recommend this place for families (modern and traditional) and for groups of friends. I'd like to have my next birthday event at the villa."
