  • Villa Semadhi: paradise found!

"We stayed for two weeks in Villa Semadhi and we enjoyed every single moment: the house is beautifully designed and furnished with a great eye and sense for detail. Beside that, it's very comfortable with its large rooms and bathrooms. For example: we enjoyed very much our comfortable outdoor, walled bathroom with an amazing tree and beautiful big plants. During day- and evening time the garden is the place to be: for every moment of the day you can find several comfortable places to read, meditate or just relax in the shadow of flowering trees, such as the amazing 'frangipani' (Plumeria). Furthermore there's a lovely breakfast/lunch/dinner pavilion in the garden, surrounded by a pond full of fairy tale waterlilies and fishes. We just sat down, had a nice Balinese Bintang beer and waited for the wonderful Balinese 'cuisine' to surprise us! We were absolutely spoiled by the very friendly staff, not only with delicious meals, but also with a bicycle whenever desired and other small attentions. I should not forget to mention the infinity pool, which is very well placed within this tropical paradise garden: we swam with a lovely view on the ocean at one side and the beautiful house on the other! As for the surroundings of the villa, they are also worth a close look: we found some interesting temples and even attended a service in one of them. Furthermore there are several beautiful resorts at about 10 min. cycling. We were very welcome to walk around and take a look and pictures and to have a nice lunch or dinner at the beach. Every resort has its own character, so we visited them all! We also found some nice little giftshops and small 'warungs' (little restaurants). At last we made a very special trip to Menjangan Island by boat, where we went snorkling and saw the most amazing fishes and other creatures. Last but not least we were truly touched by the unbelievable friendliness of the Balinese people: everybody smiles, says 'hello' or even asks where you're from and if you like Bali. Never before we met such friendly and open people! No surprise: we truly and very enthusiastically recommend this villa and give it five stars!"

  • A luxurious, romantic and serene escape!

"We had the most amazing 4 days - the perfect end to a 3 month holiday in Australia and Bali. The accommodation was so lovely, the staff anticipated every need and the food was truly exceptional. We enjoyed the communal lounge area during rainstorms and soaked in the tepid water of the lovely infinity pool. We kind of felt like we were in a movie - so unique was the architecture. We didn't have a car - we don't recommend driving in Bali! - but it was easy to procure a driver for a wee bit of exploring. What an amazing honeymoon spot or destination wedding! Thank you!"

Bali Travel Tips

Stay in Paradise with Bali Vacation Rentals

Bali is considered one of the most exotic holiday destinations in the world. The natural beauty of this tropical island, the friendly locals and the great cuisine make this a place that visitors choose to return to again and again. The towering rainforest, covered mountains, paddy fields, craft villages and palm-fringed beaches offer something for everyone.

Although the island is fairly small—you can drive around it in a day—there are many different aspects to enjoy, from enchanting temples and the mesmerizing local lion dance to amazing beaches, dramatic surf and some of the most vivid sunsets anywhere. Despite its popularity as a tourist resort destination, Bali thankfully retains its individual character and culture. Most of the people of Bali are Hindu and you will see many roadside shrines decorated with tiny offerings of rice or flowers.

Great Reasons to Choose Bali Vacation Rentals

The easy option is to book a hotel in Bali but you are much more in touch with the island and its culture when staying in a local villa accommodation. Rather than being surrounded by European architecture and English voices, wake up to sea views and the sound of birdsong from your own private terrace. A villa is usually far more spacious than a hotel room and often has a private swimming pool. Eating out is cheap and easy in Bali. Rather than being obliged to eat at an all-inclusive hotel, with a vacation rental it is easy to eat somewhere different every day, sampling local food wherever you happen to find yourself.

Those looking for a romantic, peaceful vacation will appreciate the privacy of a private villa. The standards of Bali accommodation are surprisingly high and often come with maid service for a truly laid-back vacation.

Things to do in Bali

Snorkeling and diving are the obvious activities to enjoy on Bali but the island has many unique attractions too. Try some of the authentic local beauty treatments and massages. Head for the hot springs set in tropical gardens, or try am herbal “lulur” body scrub, traditionally performed before a wedding. It will make your body sing!

Explore the inland areas and you will discover colorful Hindu temples and monuments such as the “Garuda Wisnu Kencana,” a sculpture of the goddess Vishnu riding a mythical Garuda bird. Go trekking in the Bali Barat National Park, home of leopards, buffalo and Bali starlings—the world’s rarest birds.

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons in Bali

Choosing a destination wedding in Bali makes great economic sense. For little more than the cost of a honeymoon, you can have a romantic wedding barefoot on the beach, surrounded by your closest family and friends. Helicopter weddings are a novelty or allow a waterfall backdrop for your ceremony.

Bali is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine and simply enjoy the company of your partner. Choose a luxury villa with hammocks, a private pool and a shady terrace. You can read or cool off in the pool during the day and drink champagne beneath the stars after dark. Bali is a very popular destination with younger guests and couples.

Getting to Your Bali Villas

Bali’s airport is usually listed as Denpasar, the name of the island’s capital city. Fly into the international Ngurah Rai Airport and in less than an hour, you can be stretched out in the sun at your Bali vacation villa. There are regularly scheduled direct flights from Australia, Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur among other international hubs.

Bali Accommodation in all Seasons

The weather in Bali is warm all year-round with temperatures between 20 and 33 C (68 to 93 F). From December to March, the monsoon season can bring some short but heavy showers, usually at night. The dry season is from June to September, when humidity is low. During this season, it is cooler in the evenings and you may need a light jacket at higher altitudes.
