  • OUR WOW MOMENT!

"We arrived at Villa Campuhan in the afternoon and were immediately shown to Villa Lumbung. From the moment we stepped through the gate, we wereblown away by the sheer beauty of this place. The setting is truly magical and we kept pinching ourselves to make sure we weren't dreaming. Villa Lumbung was pretty as a picture and we were quite amazed by how big it was. Perfect for the two of us. The room was beautifully decorated with windows framing the most beautiful views you could hope for. We soon went exploring and found lush, very well kept grounds, a tranquil pond, a beautiful pool a stones throw from the ocean. And then Villa Campuhan-the communal room for relaxing and meals. What a sight - no wonder it featured on the front of a magazine. From this moment on, we were in the lap of luxury but completely without pretension. We had our breakfast and dinner here each day and the view was to die for. The meals were of a very high standard - no menu for dinner, just whatever the staff bought in the local market that day. Lunch was chosen from the menu and was taken on the picnic table right beside the ocean. The staff here are absolutely terrific. As is often the case, the staff can make or break a property and here, they are a real asset. Ketut, the manager, was a pleasure to deal with and assisted us with booking a driver/guide to take us around the local area. Blakey was a great driver/guide, a very warm and friendly person, and we certainly recommend his services. The gardens were immaculately maintained and we saw many staff constantly tending to the gardens. The chefs/kitchen staff/room attendants/gardeners were all very friendly whilst maintaining a professional standard. We were completely content to spend most days by the pool. The weather was perfect and as this is the beginning of the season, only two of the villas were reserved, so we often had the place to ourselves. Everything about this property is perfect. The individual villas and the communal room were beautifully decorated and the location outstanding. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The only suggestion I would have would be to have your own transport if you want to do some sightseeing as it is a little remote (local village worth a visit too). It was about 30 minutes to Candi Dasa if you feel the need to dine out - we only did on one occasion and even though we enjoyed the meal, we couldn't wait to get back to Villa Campuhan! Thank you Barbara!"

  • Whitney Bungalow is a Beauty

"My husband and I just returned from two weeks at Whitney Bungalow and had a fabulous stay. Made, the owner, was welcoming and assisted with various travel needs. Her friendly husband drove us for sightseeing tours at reasonable prices. The bungalow is traditionally Balinese with indoor, outdoor living both comfortable and inviting. The pictures accurately capture the spirit of the home surrounded by blooming foliage and rice fields. The pool was refreshing and a great size to do laps. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained providing abundant privacy. The location of the bungalow was easy walking distance to the market on beautiful trails. There is a tranquil yoga studio in the vicinity as well as an excellent vegan restaurant. There are several other enticing restaurants and good shops within walking distance plus many friendly people along the path. Whitney Bungalow is a magical environment where you can enjoy the best of Bali."

  • Great garden, gorgeous views....

"We loved staying here. The garden and views are beautiful. The house is full of great art and furniture. It is wonderful to wake up and take in the fantastic views from the great big upstairs bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The house is clean and comfortable as well as very cool. The location is fantastic - out of the hustle and bustle but within walking distance to lots of good places to eat. A lovely place to stay!!"

  • Amazing vacation Rental! Look no further!

"The Infinity Villa is incredible - the villa, the pool, the scenery, the staff everything about is exceptional! It is a little bit away from the crowded Ubud scene, but that was exactly what we were looking for. Max provides you with a driver or scooter or a list of available drivers to help with all the commuting. No issues at all! My son (~2 years) even two months after the trip asks us daily (no exaggeration, daily) if we can go to "his Bali home" - I wish we could! In addition to the home being exceptional, Max (the owner) makes your entire vacation hassle free. He is very engaged and so responsive with emails, inquiries and really helped us put together a wonderful first trip itinerary to Bali. He even made all the arrangements! In fact, one of the items that I had on my wish-list (the Bali Safari and Marine Park) was not something he had prior information on, so he and his son actually spent a day to visit the park, so that he could relay a more detailed suggestion about it. Max volunteered even before I could ask to arrange for a wonderful dinner and cake for my husband's milestone birthday. And his entire staff is equally good. I can honestly say that when I first wrote to the property owner, my eye was on another place, but right from the first response back from Max, I knew this was the place to be for our vacation. It was hands down our best vacation rental experience (and I have had many!)"

Bali Travel Tips

Stay in Paradise with Bali Vacation Rentals

Bali is considered one of the most exotic holiday destinations in the world. The natural beauty of this tropical island, the friendly locals and the great cuisine make this a place that visitors choose to return to again and again. The towering rainforest, covered mountains, paddy fields, craft villages and palm-fringed beaches offer something for everyone.

Although the island is fairly small—you can drive around it in a day—there are many different aspects to enjoy, from enchanting temples and the mesmerizing local lion dance to amazing beaches, dramatic surf and some of the most vivid sunsets anywhere. Despite its popularity as a tourist resort destination, Bali thankfully retains its individual character and culture. Most of the people of Bali are Hindu and you will see many roadside shrines decorated with tiny offerings of rice or flowers.

Great Reasons to Choose Bali Vacation Rentals

The easy option is to book a hotel in Bali but you are much more in touch with the island and its culture when staying in a local villa accommodation. Rather than being surrounded by European architecture and English voices, wake up to sea views and the sound of birdsong from your own private terrace. A villa is usually far more spacious than a hotel room and often has a private swimming pool. Eating out is cheap and easy in Bali. Rather than being obliged to eat at an all-inclusive hotel, with a vacation rental it is easy to eat somewhere different every day, sampling local food wherever you happen to find yourself.

Those looking for a romantic, peaceful vacation will appreciate the privacy of a private villa. The standards of Bali accommodation are surprisingly high and often come with maid service for a truly laid-back vacation.

Things to do in Bali

Snorkeling and diving are the obvious activities to enjoy on Bali but the island has many unique attractions too. Try some of the authentic local beauty treatments and massages. Head for the hot springs set in tropical gardens, or try am herbal “lulur” body scrub, traditionally performed before a wedding. It will make your body sing!

Explore the inland areas and you will discover colorful Hindu temples and monuments such as the “Garuda Wisnu Kencana,” a sculpture of the goddess Vishnu riding a mythical Garuda bird. Go trekking in the Bali Barat National Park, home of leopards, buffalo and Bali starlings—the world’s rarest birds.

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons in Bali

Choosing a destination wedding in Bali makes great economic sense. For little more than the cost of a honeymoon, you can have a romantic wedding barefoot on the beach, surrounded by your closest family and friends. Helicopter weddings are a novelty or allow a waterfall backdrop for your ceremony.

Bali is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine and simply enjoy the company of your partner. Choose a luxury villa with hammocks, a private pool and a shady terrace. You can read or cool off in the pool during the day and drink champagne beneath the stars after dark. Bali is a very popular destination with younger guests and couples.

Getting to Your Bali Villas

Bali’s airport is usually listed as Denpasar, the name of the island’s capital city. Fly into the international Ngurah Rai Airport and in less than an hour, you can be stretched out in the sun at your Bali vacation villa. There are regularly scheduled direct flights from Australia, Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur among other international hubs.

Bali Accommodation in all Seasons

The weather in Bali is warm all year-round with temperatures between 20 and 33 C (68 to 93 F). From December to March, the monsoon season can bring some short but heavy showers, usually at night. The dry season is from June to September, when humidity is low. During this season, it is cooler in the evenings and you may need a light jacket at higher altitudes.
