  • Compound Life

"Nice quiet retreat in Ubud, surrounded by nature. A 10 minute walk to the main street. Close to great coffee houses and restaurants. Perfect home base to visit the island. Bear in mind that the kitchen area is outdoors and that you are woken up very early each morning by roosters (you may actually miss them when you leave however)."

  • Hidden Treasure

"This place is great - pictures don't do it justice and is kept lovely and clean by manager each day. Is about 15 minutes walk from the Palace (usual Ubud footpaths and a bit of hill - hence watch with young children or disabilities- but taxis are so cheap). Wee restaurant on site does a great breakfast for about $5 (need cash to pay), other restaurants close by -including Indus which is worth the visit. Spas close by as well ie next door, and within walking distance. Supermarket to stock up is about 100 metres down the road for staples - small kitchenette fridge. Access to the rice fields is out the back of the property. The compound is pretty and authentic. Recommend as total value for money for money - and with two apartments available - rent both if a few of you."

  • Breathtaking, Calming, and Serene

"We are still here, my wife and I. Where? Infinity Villa, just outside Ubud, Bali. As a child I learned how to define infinity: “think of the largest number you can imagine; add one.” Here at infinity Villa, the largest number I can imagine is Max. Add one. He owns it, designed it, and caringly attends to all details. Infinity consists of two villas—Bamboo & Lotus—each a mirror image of the other. Excellent architectural design—modern inside and Balinese outside. Constructed of beautiful contrasting materials—stone, slate, wood, pebbles, concrete, ceramic tile—with high ceilings, tall wide windows, skylights, semi-open-air bathrooms (yes two) with delightful shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Each villa is two stories: lower level with a pool outside; upper level with master bedroom and terrace. Not very buggy but there is quality mosquito netting over the bed. Air conditioning, while available, is not necessary. One sleeps with soothing, cool, cross breezes at night and the sound of crickets and frogs from the surrounding fields. Add one! The units are surround by 360° of rice paddies artistically carved with unique irrigation systems as they are all individually owned by local farmers. Breathtaking, serene vistas, dotted with shrines, and banana and coconut trees. So, here we are 20 minutes outside of hectic Ubud. Max can rent you a motor scooter, or you can have his driver take you to town or tour you around. With a caring staff at hand, Max is an attentive owner responsive to all questions and needs. Here is 360° of calming beauty. At Infinity find your dreams, plus one. Arthur from NYC"

Bali Travel Tips

Stay in Paradise with Bali Vacation Rentals

Bali is considered one of the most exotic holiday destinations in the world. The natural beauty of this tropical island, the friendly locals and the great cuisine make this a place that visitors choose to return to again and again. The towering rainforest, covered mountains, paddy fields, craft villages and palm-fringed beaches offer something for everyone.

Although the island is fairly small—you can drive around it in a day—there are many different aspects to enjoy, from enchanting temples and the mesmerizing local lion dance to amazing beaches, dramatic surf and some of the most vivid sunsets anywhere. Despite its popularity as a tourist resort destination, Bali thankfully retains its individual character and culture. Most of the people of Bali are Hindu and you will see many roadside shrines decorated with tiny offerings of rice or flowers.

Great Reasons to Choose Bali Vacation Rentals

The easy option is to book a hotel in Bali but you are much more in touch with the island and its culture when staying in a local villa accommodation. Rather than being surrounded by European architecture and English voices, wake up to sea views and the sound of birdsong from your own private terrace. A villa is usually far more spacious than a hotel room and often has a private swimming pool. Eating out is cheap and easy in Bali. Rather than being obliged to eat at an all-inclusive hotel, with a vacation rental it is easy to eat somewhere different every day, sampling local food wherever you happen to find yourself.

Those looking for a romantic, peaceful vacation will appreciate the privacy of a private villa. The standards of Bali accommodation are surprisingly high and often come with maid service for a truly laid-back vacation.

Things to do in Bali

Snorkeling and diving are the obvious activities to enjoy on Bali but the island has many unique attractions too. Try some of the authentic local beauty treatments and massages. Head for the hot springs set in tropical gardens, or try am herbal “lulur” body scrub, traditionally performed before a wedding. It will make your body sing!

Explore the inland areas and you will discover colorful Hindu temples and monuments such as the “Garuda Wisnu Kencana,” a sculpture of the goddess Vishnu riding a mythical Garuda bird. Go trekking in the Bali Barat National Park, home of leopards, buffalo and Bali starlings—the world’s rarest birds.

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons in Bali

Choosing a destination wedding in Bali makes great economic sense. For little more than the cost of a honeymoon, you can have a romantic wedding barefoot on the beach, surrounded by your closest family and friends. Helicopter weddings are a novelty or allow a waterfall backdrop for your ceremony.

Bali is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine and simply enjoy the company of your partner. Choose a luxury villa with hammocks, a private pool and a shady terrace. You can read or cool off in the pool during the day and drink champagne beneath the stars after dark. Bali is a very popular destination with younger guests and couples.

Getting to Your Bali Villas

Bali’s airport is usually listed as Denpasar, the name of the island’s capital city. Fly into the international Ngurah Rai Airport and in less than an hour, you can be stretched out in the sun at your Bali vacation villa. There are regularly scheduled direct flights from Australia, Amsterdam, London, Los Angeles, Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur among other international hubs.

Bali Accommodation in all Seasons

The weather in Bali is warm all year-round with temperatures between 20 and 33 C (68 to 93 F). From December to March, the monsoon season can bring some short but heavy showers, usually at night. The dry season is from June to September, when humidity is low. During this season, it is cooler in the evenings and you may need a light jacket at higher altitudes.
