Overview of Indonesia Vacation Rentals
Visitors to Indonesia Vacation Rentals
Indonesia is a beautiful tropical paradise. The country is made up of more than 17,000 islands of which only about 6,000 are inhabited. Some of the islands are land masses that are shared with either Papua New Guinea or Malaysia. Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi are the three largest of the islands wholly owned by Indonesia. Indonesia has many beautiful beaches and coral reefs. Because of its year-round warm climate, it attracts many sun lovers and people who enjoy beach vacations.
Bali is known for its vibrant night life and well-run beach resorts. The coral reefs in Indonesia are some of the best in the world. Scuba divers often are those who like to visit the more remote islands and dive on the pristine coral reefs that are found there. Indonesia is a place that is culturally interesting. Eating out is an experience and the local food is fragrant and spicy. Many fruits and vegetables are grown on the islands and make up a major part of many of the local dishes.
Attractions at Indonesia Villas
Bali is the most well known of Indonesia's islands. It has a wealth of resorts and has probably the most efficient tourist infrastructure. The area is a contrast of beautiful sandy beaches and forested highlands which attract the more adventurous travelers. Sulawesi is known for its top-class dive sites. On land, it has an equally rich diversity of fauna and flora. Sumatra is an island that is known for its rugged landscapes and wild natural resources. It is also one of the most populated on the islands and holds great cultural wealth. Kalimantan is the far southeastern part of Borneo. The island is an adventurer's paradise. Thick jungle covers most of the island which is home to the well-known Orangutan. The island of Java is where you will find the big city of Jakarta. If you have an interest in Indonesian culture you can experience it here.
Finding Your Way to Your Indonesia Accommodation
While there are numerous airports in Indonesia, because of the many islands that make up the country, the three main airports are found near Jakarta, Denpasar on Bali, and Surabaya on East Java. Most international flights from Europe, North America, Australia and other Far East cities will arrive in either Denpasaror or Jakarta. Often for flights from the United States, you will need to route via one of the nearby Far East cities such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Toyko or Kuala Lumpur. If you are already traveling in the Far East, you may consider taking a ferry from Malaysia as this is more affordable. However, be sure to check the weather report before traveling as some ferries will depart even if the weather is too dangerous to travel. In general, the safest way to travel from point to point in Indonesia is by plane. There are good regional flight connections that can take you to some of the more remote destinations. Stick to the more reputable airlines as the low-cost offers are usually on local airlines that are poorly maintained.
Best Time of Year to Visit Indonesia
Indonesia straddles the equator and therefore has a warm and tropical climate. There is very little temperature variation between the seasons. In fact, there is no such thing as summer, winter, spring or autumn in Indonesia. Rather, the seasons are referred to as either being wet or dry. Typically, the dry season runs from April to October. This is generally the preferred season for travel. One thing to note is that rain still occurs in the dry season; it just rains less. The wet season is from November to March and generally the low travel season.
