  • Great place to stay in South India

"We stayed at this location for a month and the house was perfect for us and our family from India who visited us there. The rooms each having their own bathroom made it great to all be together and yet still have your own privacy and comforts when needed. The swimming pool provided exercise, fun, and a great way to cool off. The caretaker and his wife cooked wonderful meals for us and went over and above the call of duty to be helpful and make our stay a pleasant experience. The fenced in yard made the home and lovely garden, with the mango, lemon, palm, trees and flowers seem like a private little oasis."

  • A delightful, happy tatami house

"This small tatami townhouse was perfect for me and my daughter since it had two separate bedrooms. The house is fully equipped and easy to operate. It is on a very quiet lane but close to everything we wanted and needed (trains, supermarket, subway, restaurants and department stores). Actually, this was my second stay at the house; I was there 5 years ago with my son and would go back again in a flash. If VRBO allows it, I would be pleased to be contacted directly by potential renters."

  • Great staff and everything as advertised

"It had been a while since the last review on this property so I was naturally a bit skeptical. But the place is as advertised, both written and in photos. Spacious large rooms, clean, well maintained inside and outside, and attentive staff (cook, housekeeper, gardner, and property manager). We were a family of 10 on a 50th wedding anniversary reunion for my in-laws. We had a very relaxing stay for 6 nights here over Christmas 2013. The cook did a great job with breakfast making creative western and Indonesian dishes. On request, she cooked lunch for us twice and it was delicious. The massage girls arrived every morning on time for our daily $8 per hour per person massage and they were very good. Nengah Wirayasa, the property manager and responder to all emails was a man of his word. The property itself is tucked away behind the Villa Lumbung hotel, so it is a 5 min walk to the main road, and a 15 min walk to The Breeze (Hotel Samaya) and the Seminyak Lodge and Hotel. Calling a meter taxi to the villa was not a problem. Worth staying at in Seminyak. Highly recommended."

Israel Travel Tips

Getting to Israel Vacation Rentals

The main entry point into Israel is the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Technically, the airport is located 12 miles southeast of the city but there is good access provided by public transportation and private taxis. There are also airport shuttles operated by the national airline. The airport hosts frequent commercial flights from most major cities in Europe and Africa. When traveling to Israel, you need to be aware that they have very strict security measures. Expect delays upon arrival and to have your bags thoroughly searched. When checking in for your flight home, allocate an extra hour for security checks. Israel also has two major seaports and many people arrive in Israel as part of a Mediterranean cruise. Ashdod and Haifa are the main cruise ports; however, smaller vessels may be able to dock at the marinas in Tel Aviv and Eilat.

Visitors to Vacation Apartments in Israel

Israel holds great significance for three of the major world religions, namely Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Many people from their various religions make pilgrimages to Israel, in particular Jerusalem, each year. There are many historical sites that hold cultural significance and are genuinely interesting to visit. It is a country that blends ancient traditions and history with a more modern culture. The cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are examples of this contrast. Israel also has some excellent beaches along its Mediterranean coastline. Sun lovers flock to the beaches and warm climate in the summer months.

Major Sightseeing Attractions near Israel Lodging

Depending on where you are staying in Israel, there are many sightseeing attractions. The old city of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wailing Wall are three of the country's most famous landmarks. Of particular interest to Christian travelers are a number of the historical sites in Jerusalem. There is the Stations of the Cross which mark various points along the road where Christ carried the cross to the outskirts of the city. Then there is also the Garden of Gethsemane and the tomb that have been well preserved as religious landmarks. Golgotha, or the place of the skull can be seen just outside of Jerusalem's old city.

Throughout Jerusalem, there are various chapels, churches and shrines marking places believed to be of historical significance. For Jewish visitors, the most visited feature in Jerusalem is the Western Wall, otherwise also known as the Wailing Wall. The wall is where devout Jews congregate to pray for the restoration of Israel. Their prayer requests are written on pieces of paper and stuffed into the cracks of the wall. Just for the experience, it is well worth visiting. The Dead Sea is so named because of its extremely high salt content. Visitors can experience floating in the sea and enjoy a beauty therapy treatment at one of the local spas. Dead Sea mud is known worldwide for its healing properties. If it is beaches that you are looking for, the bright lights of Tel Aviv is the place to be. There is a great beach vibe here. During the day, you can relax on the beach and in the evenings enjoy the nightlife.
