  • Highly Recommend - Very Beautiful & Extremely Well Located

"Four 50 yr old male friends spent 4 nights in this beautiful apt 10/30-11/3/14. Yael is the mgr of this apt & she was extremely accommodating & responsive. She answered all questions & concerns quickly & directed us to the front dr when we arrived (which is very easy to find around the corner from the David Citadel Hotel). There are 4 bdrms & all but one has a full bath attached. The other bdrm has a half bath attached with a full bathroom in the hallway outside the bdrm. There is also another half bath in the hallway on the upper level. (4 bdrms/4 full & 2 half baths). It is 2 floors as they connected a 1 bdrm unit on the upper level where the kosher kitchen (2 dishwashers & sinks) is located & 3 bdrms on the lower level & the washer/dryer. Clean & nicely appointed. Washer/Dryer was used by 2 people & it worked flawlessly. We did not eat meals in the unit but the kitchen is large & the dining table seats 16 comfortably. The view is beautiful-to the left the David Citadel pool & to the right the Old City. You can get to the David Citadel hotel through the Parking garage (1 parking space avail) w/o going outside or simply walk around the corner to the Hotel’s front door. The very best hotel location in Jerusalem is the David Citadel/Mamilla. This apt is attached to the David Citadel Hotel so the location cannot be beat. Short walk to Old City, Mahane Yehuda Mkt, King David Hotel (we ate a wonderful Shabbat lunch there-the service was impeccable). The $100 Friday Shabbat dinner at the Citadel was awful-stay away-service was atrocious & the view cannot make up for it. I have used VRBO before & I am cynical by nature. I was suspect of the wonderful description on the website & if the apt would meet my expectations. It far surpassed my expectations. One of my friends was very reluctant to stay in a private apt as he prefers 5 star hotels. He was so impressed with the apt that he likely will rent it on his return trip in a yr with his family of 6. Obviously it is very cost effective to stay here with a family as opposed to multiple hotel rms but beyond the economics it is a very large apt with great common areas for everyone to ‘hang out’ in. I am not usually so complimentary & usually pepper my compliments with constructive criticism so my compliments are considered more sincere. I really have nothing but compliments on this apt & Yael. Highly recommend Hatzot on Agripos St by Mahane Yehuda Market-excellent local steak rest & Papagaio Brazilian Steak."

  • Great location in Tel Aviv

"We stayed 4 nights in this cool, modern apartment. Location is right in the center of Tel Aviv and 2 minute walk to beach. Apartment is clean and comes with washer/dryer and a parking space. This is my 2nd time renting here and I would certainly rent again at this location."

Israel Travel Tips

Getting to Israel Vacation Rentals

The main entry point into Israel is the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Technically, the airport is located 12 miles southeast of the city but there is good access provided by public transportation and private taxis. There are also airport shuttles operated by the national airline. The airport hosts frequent commercial flights from most major cities in Europe and Africa. When traveling to Israel, you need to be aware that they have very strict security measures. Expect delays upon arrival and to have your bags thoroughly searched. When checking in for your flight home, allocate an extra hour for security checks. Israel also has two major seaports and many people arrive in Israel as part of a Mediterranean cruise. Ashdod and Haifa are the main cruise ports; however, smaller vessels may be able to dock at the marinas in Tel Aviv and Eilat.

Visitors to Vacation Apartments in Israel

Israel holds great significance for three of the major world religions, namely Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Many people from their various religions make pilgrimages to Israel, in particular Jerusalem, each year. There are many historical sites that hold cultural significance and are genuinely interesting to visit. It is a country that blends ancient traditions and history with a more modern culture. The cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are examples of this contrast. Israel also has some excellent beaches along its Mediterranean coastline. Sun lovers flock to the beaches and warm climate in the summer months.

Major Sightseeing Attractions near Israel Lodging

Depending on where you are staying in Israel, there are many sightseeing attractions. The old city of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wailing Wall are three of the country's most famous landmarks. Of particular interest to Christian travelers are a number of the historical sites in Jerusalem. There is the Stations of the Cross which mark various points along the road where Christ carried the cross to the outskirts of the city. Then there is also the Garden of Gethsemane and the tomb that have been well preserved as religious landmarks. Golgotha, or the place of the skull can be seen just outside of Jerusalem's old city.

Throughout Jerusalem, there are various chapels, churches and shrines marking places believed to be of historical significance. For Jewish visitors, the most visited feature in Jerusalem is the Western Wall, otherwise also known as the Wailing Wall. The wall is where devout Jews congregate to pray for the restoration of Israel. Their prayer requests are written on pieces of paper and stuffed into the cracks of the wall. Just for the experience, it is well worth visiting. The Dead Sea is so named because of its extremely high salt content. Visitors can experience floating in the sea and enjoy a beauty therapy treatment at one of the local spas. Dead Sea mud is known worldwide for its healing properties. If it is beaches that you are looking for, the bright lights of Tel Aviv is the place to be. There is a great beach vibe here. During the day, you can relax on the beach and in the evenings enjoy the nightlife.

Travel Tips and Advice for Israel

Travelers need to be aware that while most areas are safe for travel, there is an ongoing conflict in the Gaza region.
