  • LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!!

"We had a wonderful week in this ocean front apartment. We were 2 families and there was more then enough space. The terrace which is huge has a great Weber BBQ and there is a table that seats 12 people easliy. The views from the terrace and all rooms but 1 was AMAZING!!! Kitchen and 3 bathrooms were a G-D send!. Great for a family, even two :) The owner is great and even welcomed us with refreshments and unpacked the car with us! Highly recommend this apartment!!"

  • Rauhallinen majoituspaikka Herzeliassa

Herzlian hienohiekkaiselle siistille rannalle on 15 min automatka. Talon oma uima-allas oli iso ja siisti. Majapaikan pitäjältä Jaanalta saimme apua lomamme suunnittelussa."

  • Fabulous flat

"Our stay in this flat was perfect. Owner was easy to work with & apt. Overseer was wonderful. No picture can convey charm of apt. Location is close to good dining, good shopping, transportation, fabulous beach, tourist office and everything & anything you want. Location is fewer than 5 minutes to Ben Yehuda yet there is no traffic on this narrow street. Garbage trucks are loud on pic-up day. Kitchen is modern and Bosch fridge is new. Property was very clean and east to keep clean. Loved it. Little parking but we had no car."

  • Friendly and helpful hosts to a stranger in a strange land

"Matty is one of the best hosts I have encountered in many VRBO-type rentals. Got him up at the crack of dawn (sorry!) and he most graciously ran through everything on the spot; took me at my word that I would pay on arrival (no deposit) and made sure I had what I needed - directions to places, free parking (a challenge in Jerusalem!), amenities (laundry, shopping, grocery, post, cambio). The house itself is a well-converted utility building of some sort and fully functional. I would have liked some more towels, but that's hardly a big deal. All the basic kitchen and bed/bath needs were there, along with cable, maps, WiFi, etc. The two dogs are characters! (they bark a little but only when disturbed by intruders, and quickly quiet down). The owners had a small gathering while I was there, kindly invited me, and gave me the leftover watermelon (very welcome in the heat)! All in all - if it's "next year in Jerusalem" or some subsequent year, I would stay in a heartbeat."

Israel Travel Tips

Getting to Israel Vacation Rentals

The main entry point into Israel is the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Technically, the airport is located 12 miles southeast of the city but there is good access provided by public transportation and private taxis. There are also airport shuttles operated by the national airline. The airport hosts frequent commercial flights from most major cities in Europe and Africa. When traveling to Israel, you need to be aware that they have very strict security measures. Expect delays upon arrival and to have your bags thoroughly searched. When checking in for your flight home, allocate an extra hour for security checks. Israel also has two major seaports and many people arrive in Israel as part of a Mediterranean cruise. Ashdod and Haifa are the main cruise ports; however, smaller vessels may be able to dock at the marinas in Tel Aviv and Eilat.

Visitors to Vacation Apartments in Israel

Israel holds great significance for three of the major world religions, namely Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Many people from their various religions make pilgrimages to Israel, in particular Jerusalem, each year. There are many historical sites that hold cultural significance and are genuinely interesting to visit. It is a country that blends ancient traditions and history with a more modern culture. The cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are examples of this contrast. Israel also has some excellent beaches along its Mediterranean coastline. Sun lovers flock to the beaches and warm climate in the summer months.

Major Sightseeing Attractions near Israel Lodging

Depending on where you are staying in Israel, there are many sightseeing attractions. The old city of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wailing Wall are three of the country's most famous landmarks. Of particular interest to Christian travelers are a number of the historical sites in Jerusalem. There is the Stations of the Cross which mark various points along the road where Christ carried the cross to the outskirts of the city. Then there is also the Garden of Gethsemane and the tomb that have been well preserved as religious landmarks. Golgotha, or the place of the skull can be seen just outside of Jerusalem's old city.

Throughout Jerusalem, there are various chapels, churches and shrines marking places believed to be of historical significance. For Jewish visitors, the most visited feature in Jerusalem is the Western Wall, otherwise also known as the Wailing Wall. The wall is where devout Jews congregate to pray for the restoration of Israel. Their prayer requests are written on pieces of paper and stuffed into the cracks of the wall. Just for the experience, it is well worth visiting. The Dead Sea is so named because of its extremely high salt content. Visitors can experience floating in the sea and enjoy a beauty therapy treatment at one of the local spas. Dead Sea mud is known worldwide for its healing properties. If it is beaches that you are looking for, the bright lights of Tel Aviv is the place to be. There is a great beach vibe here. During the day, you can relax on the beach and in the evenings enjoy the nightlife.

Travel Tips and Advice for Israel

Travelers need to be aware that while most areas are safe for travel, there is an ongoing conflict in the Gaza region. Travel to this area is highly restricted and visitors are advised against traveling there. In areas like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, there are many international tourists and it is advised to simply be aware of your surroundings and vigilant about your personal safety.
