  • Wonderful family experience

"We stayed for 3 weeks in the delightful Apple House with our 3 young children (ages 8, 5, and 2.5) and we couldn't have been happier. Hiroko is a marvelous host and we were welcomed with lovely emails before we arrived and met at the station to be escorted to the house. Everything at the house was clean and well-maintained. Hiroko took plenty of time to explain how to use all the appliances and she also had written instructions (in English) for our reference at the house. She even brought over a box of toys for our children to use during our stay! The house is in a family-friendly neighborhood that has a huge children's park about 10 minutes walk away. We also recommend the beautiful nearby Shugakuin Imperial Villa (although children under 18 are not allowed). There are several buses and trains conveniently located to the house that will take you wherever you want to go in Kyoto. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Even better than the photos

"Kamogawa-an is even more elegant than the photos on the website each detail, the dishes, furnishing, the futons, the rock garden, the cypress bath is to die for! There are many different places where you can sit and view the Kamo River. Of course the location is great, near Kyoto station, and many of the temples. We loved it here!"
