Overview of Japan Vacation Rentals
Best Time of Year to Visit Japan Vacation Rentals
Japan has four distinct seasons, each with its own unique beauty. In terms of climate, the best seasons to visit are spring and autumn, when the temperatures are more moderate. Spring enjoys mild, warm days with less humidity and rain than the summer months. In March and April, you can see the famous cherry blossoms that dominate many of Japan’s cultural artworks. Autumn starts around September and the rich tones of the leaves turning are almost as beautiful as the spring blossoms. The weather starts to cool and is more temperate as the temperatures and humidity drop. The only caution is that early in the season the southern regions are prone to typhoons which bring heavy rains and can cause widespread flooding.
Summer is characterized by heavy rains early in the season, and stifling humidity and high temperatures through June and July. Thankfully, most buildings and public transport systems are air-conditioned. Great attractions of the season are the many firework festivals and events that take place. Winter can get icy with snowfalls occurring in the northern and mountainous regions. There are several ski resorts and hot springs that are the main attractions during the colder months. The only drawback is that few buildings have central heating so you need to dress warmly.
Getting to Japan Lodging
There are two main international airports in Japan. Narita International is located just outside of Tokyo and the largest airport. It hosts most major international airlines from around the globe. There are daily scheduled flights that connect Tokyo with western cities in the U.S., such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. There are also regular flights from other destinations such as Vancouver, Sydney, Singapore, Dubai and Europe. If traveling from the East Coast in the United States, you can sometimes get a direct connection; however, most flights will have a stopover in another city en route. A second large international airport is located just outside of the commercial city of Osaka. Kansai Airport also hosts a number of international and regional airlines with regularly scheduled flights.
Once in Japan, you can take advantage of the highly efficient public transport system. Most transport links are by rail and Japan boasts some of the most advanced high-speed trains in the world. Aside from the public transport network, there are also several private companies that provide transport networks, and inner-city metro systems. Initially, it can be quite confusing but once you can differentiate between the systems, traveling this way becomes much less complicated.
Things to See and Do near Japan Vacation Houses
Japan is a country of rich contrasts. There are ancient shrines and temples that are set among modern buildings. Traditional gardens provide oases in the cities. If you are visiting in the spring, travel to Yoshino where you can take a stroll among millions of beautiful cherry blossoms. If you have a decent level of fitness and enjoy the outdoors, you can hike to the top of the iconic Mt. Fuji which stands at an altitude of 3,776 meters. You can also see one of the world’s largest calderas at Mt. Aso. If your interest is in culture and history, you can visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and experience the real-life after-effects of atomic warfare. There are also several shrines and holy places that you can visit, such as Ise Shrine and Hoguru Mountain.
Kyoto Vacation Rentals in Japan
Kyoto is the cultural capital of Japan and where many vacation homes are located. The apartments tend to be compact but are quite adequate for couples or a small family. The rooms have sufficient living space and are usually furnished in a modern style.
