"My 3 week stay in Mandaluyong turned into one month. This was not a problem for the owner. I rented this Condo as it was a 3 minute drive to my friends Condo in Wack Wack. It was perfect for me as a single W female first timer to the Philippines. The area is close to 3 shopping malls. With supermarkets. The Pool was very well maintained. The food in the Hotel quite was quiite good. If you have never been to Manila and can't speak Tagalog this the staff are very helpful. The manager of the Condo, and the owner are availbale to help if you have any problems."

"Our hosts at the Condo loft were the best part of our stay at Forbeswood. Mr. and Mrs. Tan went out their way to welcome us with their great personalities and at a very early time of the day due to our flight arrival time well before breakfast. The accommodations are well decorated, well equipped, and well maintained. Some welcoming presents (not expected but much appreciated) rounded out our stay. Weekly service such a cleaning and replacement of bed sheets and towels was also much appreciated (We don't do this much in our own home). Needless to say our stay was most pleasant and the many amenities and restaurants in the immediate vicinity were an additional surprise. Local taxi service is always available. The only problems, which are a normal part of the Philippines are slow internet service and poor TV picture quality. That is something we could and did live with. Certainly not a big problem."

"My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks and we couldn't be happier and more satisfied with our choice of accommodation. Well equipped with kitchen things, we had everything within our reach with just minutes walk away from Greenhills shopping mall, restaurants, spas, cinemas and even tennis court which was a highlight of our stay - met wonderful friends! The security was courteous and extremely helpful, there's even a laundromat downstairs and you can refill your bottled water downstairs too! Alan, the owner was so gracious and hospitable and his grill bar which was a minute walk from the unit has very nice tasting food too . Definitely recommended to anyone who wishes a central location and save on money, transport and time. Thank you so much Alan. Recommended for: plenty of room for a couple and child"

In general though, Manila can be visited year-round.

Getting to Manila Condos

Manila is the official capital city of the Philippines. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport is located eight kilometers from the city center. The airport has three terminals and receives mostly domestic and regional flights. If travelling from North America, you will have to route via one of the main hubs in the Far East such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur. There is an extensive rails system and light rail system in Manila which is the easiest way to get around this bustling city. There are taxis but the traffic congestion is so high in Manila that getting from place to place by road is very time consuming. For short distances, many of the locals use bicycles or pedalos which are bikes fitted with small engines.

Throughout the centuries, Manila has been occupied by various foreign nations. Its history is bloody and intricate with the result that the Philippino culture has had many international influences. The city sites are a collection of historical spots, monuments, museums and parks. Perhaps the most famous of the city sites is Rizal Park. It is named after Jose Rizal, a local hero who was executed by the Spanish for subversion. The 53-hectare park is one of the few public spaces in Manila and houses several historically important sites, including a monument to Jose Rizal, The National Museum of the Philippines, and The National Library of the Philippines.

For those with an interest in nature and horticulture, Rizal Park also has an orchidarium and a planetarium, The Manila Ocean Park and a Butterfly Pavilion which are all well worth visiting. There is also an open-air auditorium where cultural performances take place. The Children’s Museum and the Museum of Manila have interesting exhibits that are worth browsing.

In the city center is the Intramunos, a historic district with a rich collection of museums historic buildings and landmarks. Horse-drawn carriages still operate here, giving a sense of nostalgia.

When visiting the Intramunos, it’s a good idea to have a guide book with you to truly appreciate the area. The history and significance of the various sites is both detailed and interesting. Explore old forts with their ancient dungeons, visit magnificent churches and beautiful old colonial homes. The architecture showcases many different cultures. Spanish and European influence can be seen in the designs of many of the churches and old hotels in Manila.

Manila has a vibrant nightlife. The two popular tourist districts are Ermita and Malate. Here, you will find a wide range of restaurants, cafés, casinos, entertainment lounges, art galleries and an interesting collection of antique shops. In Binodo district is Chinatown where you can browse for bargains and crafts.
