  • Absoutely brilliant!!!

"VRBO had been recommended by a friend of ours in the U.S...We'd seen this condo on the net and decided to give it a shot. We booked 10 nights in April 2011. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and it was BETTER than the pictures on this website! This place is amazing! Clean and tidy and even more spacious than it looks in the photographs. The beach is so close and there are bars and restaurants all within a short walk from the front door. Sunset is a great time to sit on the balcony with a cold drink and just watch the brilliant display. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such an amazing place to spend our vacation. We'll never use a hotel again!"

  • Amazing Villa in the Hills with Incredible Staff!

"We initially stayed here for a week scouting out longer term housing for a longer term project in Thailand. After looking at a million different options, we ended up knowing we didn't want to leave the Coolwater. We stayed over two months all in all and the quality and support of the staff never waned. Everyone who stayed on our visit intends to come back and stay here again in the future. Couldn't speak highly enough about this place. Luxury, beauty and privacy from the second you step foot inside. Good for business, vacation or family."

  • Great Value!

"We reserved our first 4 nights in Phuket at this condo. We had planned to figure the rest of our trip from there. We wanted to visit some islands etc. We knew that we were visiting during the monsoon season which included rain, and rough seas. We were enjoying the condo and just decided to stay longer. The owner was very accomodating and we were able to contact them thru email and extend our trip! The Sands is a great find! It is a minute walk to the beach. The reception, helped us rent motor bikes and answer questions we had about the area. The security is great! We have friends that live in the area. Our friends helped us set up a massage in our room. When the masseuse arrived, the security guard took her driver's license number down. One security guard named Thom, was great! He took our luggage to our room (which he didn't have to do.) He also helped us bring some water jugs up to the condo. He only spoke Thai, but our friend helped us translate. We had fun showing him pictures of our home! Our friends drove us to a market in Raiwai and we enjoyed our breakfast most days on the porch of our condo. I loved having the kitchenette! Nai Harn is a great area if you want a quiet vacation away from the louder beach areas like Patong or Kata. Our trip ended at the begining of the high season. At the beginning, there was trash on the beach but by the end, the locals were cleaning the beach everyday. The only negative is that there is constuction directly behind The Sands. The condo has thick walls and windows so it didn't wake us up but if you were at the pool, the workers could look in and you heard soem construction noise from there. This is only temporary, so don't let it ruin your trip but I think you should know. The pool is great. It is a deep pool..about 5 feet everywhere so it makes for a great lap pool and stays a comfortable temp. There were lots of rip tides when we visited and the lifeguards were cautioning against swimming at NaiHarn. We would spend a few hours at the beach and go in the water to our waists, then go back to the pool and swim for a few more hours and then back to the beach for sunset! When you are there, I recommend M&M Italian and NaiHarn Seafood for good Thai food. I also recommend driving thru the Royal Phuket Yacht Club to Ao Sane Bungalows. They have a great restaurant and beach area. Great snorkeling on a clear day and just a log walk or short tuk tuk ride. You'll love it!"

  • Young Family Dream Holiday

"We spent 1 month at Chom Tawan with our young family (3 boys under 3) & extended family (granny & aunt). Our overall experience was fantastic. The apartment is nicely decorated, clean, well maintained & equipped. Even being on the 1st floor we had no access problems with the childrens pram & the balcony is safely fenced for children. It is indeed a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach, with a locally run "Dream Bar" which is perfect for sundowners & to allow the children to play in the sand & run off a bit more energy before bed time. Most of the restaurants (Lang Phang, Reggae Bar, Tonys) will let you use their loungers for free & give you a lift home if you eat at their restaurant, perfect to avoid walking in the mid day heat. The onsite swimming pool was very quiet & ideal for all ages of children, we met a few other guests who were all very helpful & friendly (both full time residents & holiday makers). We hired a car for a few days to explore the island, but each time came back thankful we were staying at Bang Tao beach, it is quiet, uncrowded, clean, and peaceful. Our wish to have a relaxing family holiday on the beach, without having to get into a car everyday was definitely achieved."

Phuket Town Travel Tips

Travelers to Phuket Vacation Rentals

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a very popular beach destination. It is known for its beautiful beaches, warm tropical waters and excellent value as a travel destination. Travelers to Phuket can benefit from staying in up-market resorts without breaking the bank. It is the ideal destination to relax and simply enjoy the tropical surroundings. There are many water sport and adventure activities available for those that want to be more active. Phuket is also known for its vibrant nightlife so people that enjoy socializing at beach bars and dancing the night away will enjoy a fantastic vacation in Phuket.

Excellent Value at Phuket Villas

In Phuket, you can enjoy luxurious style at the many vacation villas on the island. Some are set just a stone’s throw from the beachfront and provide easy access to the water and other beach activities. Most have large outdoor decks where you can soak up the warm sunshine without having to get full of sand like you would on the beach. Some vacation apartments are set up on the hillsides. From this elevation, you can enjoy magnificent views out over the sea. The villas are generally spacious and many are built from natural materials. Wooden floors, bamboo screens and large glass windows are characteristic of many of the homes. Kitchens are generally well equipped with a host of modern appliances. In some villas, you can also arrange for a local chef to come and prepare meals for you.

Tips for When You Travel to Phuket

Depending on the type of vacation you enjoy, choose carefully which side of the island you’d like to stay on. For those that want to be in the heart of the action and social scene, head to Patong Beach. This is the largest and most developed beachfront. Karon and Karon Noi beaches are areas that are also well developed and offer a similar vibe to Patong beach. If you are looking for something quieter, you will want to be at Kalim Beach or Kalama Beach which are both north of Patong. Other areas where there are beautiful, more secluded beaches are Nai Tong and Nai Yang in the Sirinat National Park or Laem Sing which is a small bay located between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. The areas around Surin Beach and Pansea Beach are becoming known as newer and trendier.

Be courteous to locals and other tourists. In Thai culture, as with most other Eastern cultures, saving face is more important than anything. Getting angry in public is frowned upon and generally won’t get you anywhere as the locals will simply smile at you graciously. Your best option is simply to do the same no matter how frustrated you are.

Thailand is a great destination for shopping. Textiles, clothing, jewelry and handcrafts are available just about everywhere you go and at very reasonable prices. In the markets, you can often bargain but less so in shops and malls. Be wary of shops that offer clothing that will be made in 24 hours as the quality of the craftsmanship is usually very poor. Instead, go to a tailor and insist on multiple fittings.

Things to Do near Thailand Vacation Rentals in Phuket

Phuket’s great attractions are its beaches, warm climate and great social vibe. If you do nothing else other than spend your days on the beachfront, you can still have a fantastic vacation. There are many smaller islands around Phuket which offer a treasure trove of attractions. There is excellent scuba diving and snorkeling that can be enjoyed on the many reefs in the area. Boat excursions can take you island hopping to explore the rainforests of the neighboring islands.
