  • Young Family Dream Holiday

"We spent 1 month at Chom Tawan with our young family (3 boys under 3) & extended family (granny & aunt). Our overall experience was fantastic. The apartment is nicely decorated, clean, well maintained & equipped. Even being on the 1st floor we had no access problems with the childrens pram & the balcony is safely fenced for children. It is indeed a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach, with a locally run "Dream Bar" which is perfect for sundowners & to allow the children to play in the sand & run off a bit more energy before bed time. Most of the restaurants (Lang Phang, Reggae Bar, Tonys) will let you use their loungers for free & give you a lift home if you eat at their restaurant, perfect to avoid walking in the mid day heat. The onsite swimming pool was very quiet & ideal for all ages of children, we met a few other guests who were all very helpful & friendly (both full time residents & holiday makers). We hired a car for a few days to explore the island, but each time came back thankful we were staying at Bang Tao beach, it is quiet, uncrowded, clean, and peaceful. Our wish to have a relaxing family holiday on the beach, without having to get into a car everyday was definitely achieved."

  • Excellent Vacation Home With Wonderful Owners

"This villa is beautiful, clean, well -designed, secure in a gated community, comfortable with plenty of space, and located on the best beach. The owners were friendly, helpful and hospitable, and correctly answered my many questions. Next time we want to stay at least a month. Nearby restaurants (car recommended) and resorts were great and fun to explore. Thai people are so nice. This is a place to relax. Highly Recommended."

  • "Livin The Dream"

"Jan 24-Feb 5 2012 My husband and I just returned from a very special stay at Frangipani Villa 6. We visited Koh Samui to attend a wedding and could not be happier with our choice to rent a house vs a generic hotel stay. The pictures do not do this property justice. Yes, the house is in a quiet, secluded location on a hill in the jungle and has an undescribable view, but you have to see it to believe it ! Frederique and Patrick were great hosts who became our friends whom we hope to meet up with again. Mellie made our stay that much more special by allowing us to enjoy her cooking when we entertained our friends and family for dinner one night. Just a few of our favorite things during our stay were: the outdoor shower, hearing the wildlife (birds, geckos, etc) which you would not staying on Chaweng Beach, the pool, the view, our beautiful master suite and the beautiful landscape every which way we looked. We are blessed to have found the Frangipani and hope to return again one day. khop khun kha"

Thailand Travel Tips

Getting to Thailand

Thailand has good air connections with other cities in Southeast Asia and around the globe. The main airport is in Bangkok and several domestic airports provide access to other regions. Bangkok International Airport hosts a wide variety of international airlines from around the world on regularly scheduled commercial flights. There is a good road and rail network but it is extremely congested in the cities. Driving is not recommended for foreigners. Instead, take a taxi or arrange a private transfer between the airports and your vacation homes. In many of the tourists areas, it quite easy to get around by bicycle. There are many local companies that hire bikes. If you are traveling to the islands, boat transfers can be easily arranged to hop from one island to another.

Activities and Attractions near Thailand

Thailand is a destination that appeals to people with a wide range of interests. It is a destination that is probably best known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. Sun lovers and beach enthusiasts can spend their days lazing in the sun. Beach bars and restaurants provide refreshments and entertainment late into the night. Scuba divers can enjoy some spectacular coral reefs. Many are shallow enough to enjoy snorkeling and the water is warm enough to swim for hours. Boating excursions take you to uninhabited islands where you can explore caves and rainforests. There are towering walls for rock climbing and a number of trekking trails.

On land, Thailand is known for its excellent golf courses, affordable shopping and tasty cuisine. There are numerous golf courses along the coast which are highly ranted. Anywhere in Thailand, you can browse the street markets, spend some time haggling with the stall owners, and find yourself some excellent bargains. If you enjoy nature and trekking, the highland area near Chang Mai is the place to go. Here, you can experience rural Thailand at its best. Tall lush forests, towering mountain peaks and quaint villages tucked in among rice paddies and agricultural fields. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering, you can book yourself a treatment in one of the many spas. Thai massage is famous the world over and it is a wonderful way to relax on your vacation.

Best Time of Year to Visit Thailand Villas

In general, Thailand has a warm tropical climate that varies only moderately between the different regions. Temperatures are hot all year and humidity can get extreme during the summer months. For this reason, most travelers choose to visit during the cooler winter months. For the highland and central areas, November to March are generally considered the best times to travel. For the islands, such as Koh Samui, June through September is the favored time to visit.

Things to Remember When Traveling in Thailand

Thailand is a relatively inexpensive destination which means that if you plan carefully you can really stretch your travel budget. Take time to research the various destinations and decide what activities you want to do on your vacation. In that way, you can minimize the time spent traveling between destinations and instead enjoy all the sights that Thailand has to offer. When getting taxis and tuk tuks, agree on a price before you leave; otherwise, you find yourself paying a higher price when you get to your destination. Scooters and bicycles can be hired to get around but driving in the more built-up areas does sometimes require nerves of steel. The roads tend to be a chaotic mixture of vehicles, bicycles, scooters and pedestrians.
