  • Great Vacation Condo - Central to Everything - Excellent Location to Stay in Hong Kong

"Thank You Karin for allowing us to stay in your lovely condo during our vacation in Hong Kong for the week. The Condo was the PERFECT and IDEAL location for us and allowed us to travel easily to anywhere we needed to go. I would highly recommend this CONDO for anyone who wants to be central to local shops in MongKok, the Harbour (Star Ferry), and Hong Kong Island (Central, Causeway Bay). JORDAN MTR Station really was a close walking distance from the building and the subway system is extremely easy to navigate through. I would recommend you getting a road map (just grab one from a local hotel lobby), because this will help you determine which exit to get off at in the MTR station. Tsim Sha Tsui is the BEST location to stay in - no matter where you are going - either from shopping locally at inexpensive markets (Nathan Rd & Argyle St) or if you want something high-end (Name Brands) on Canton Rd. (Habour City) near the Star Ferry. I stayed here with a family of 6.. I would probably recommend only having a family of 4 stay here, only because their second shower wasn't a "real" shower, therefore, we had to all share the one shower/tub- which took long after a long day out doing activities. However, it was great that there was 2 toilets, a full functioning kitchen with fridge/freezer and YES - Laundry was the EXTRA BONUS!! It was nice that linens, towels, hand soap, hair dryer, iron/iron board, toilet paper, laundry detergent and so much more was available for us to use. It really made it THAT much easier for us as a family not to worry about bringing so many little essentials. Lastly, when you arrive at Airport, after taking the Airport Express Train to Kowloon ($90 HKD single trip or $160 HKD round trip - there are pkgs for 2+ ppl which is cheaper), Hop on the Free Airport Shuttle Bus to Best Western Grand Hotel OR Empire Hotel Kowloon and walk to this CONDO.. which is less than 5 minutes away instead of taking TAXI. Do your research and look on a MAP before arriving. It really will help in the long run; There are LOTS to do in Hong Kong. We wish we had more time, but we were really only here for a Wedding. Thank YOU once again for making our visit wonderful. We already recommended this place to 4 other families. A++ - it doesn't get better then this, much larger, comfortable, affordable than a Hotel & Security men were Super nice! Don't forget to treat them to TEA one day =) P.S. Good Luck opening the lock on the door~we had some challenges but it worked out"

  • The perfect holiday accommodation

"Hi Kasey, I have been meaning to write to you sooner but just got caught up with the usual things once we got back home. We noted how happy we were with Villa Satori in your guest book at the Villa as everyone else fortunate to have stayed there has also done. We had the most wonderful holiday, it was just perfect in every sense. I did have trouble with reception on the tv and buzzing sound when a dvd was put in, but I was thankful that was the case as it stopped us from having it on and allowed us just to enjoy the sounds of life around the villa and enjoy each others company, I haven't felt so relaxed and laughed that much in a long time. The villa is perfect, your choice in decor was very tasteful, inviting and homely, it just felt that you left no stone unturned to ensure maximum enjoyment for anyone who stays there and Wayan and Ketut seem to exemplify the same philosophy, both very kind and attentive and an uncanny ability to operate in a kind of stealth mode that its like they are not there at all. Having small children ensured we spent as much time as we could in the villa, which was great and the type of holiday I was looking for. We did manage some day trips with one of you drivers Wayan and he was great and the massages from Wayan were incredible. Our travel companion Brian commented that he will certainly try and go back with some of his friends as he loved it so much. Traditionally we try different places to travel for different experiences but somehow I think we will also go back one day to explore parts of Ubud we didn't get to see this time and the opportunity to stay again at Villa Satori. So thank you for the work you put into making sure Villa Satori is an experience that will stay with you long after you have left."

Thailand Travel Tips

Getting to Thailand

Thailand has good air connections with other cities in Southeast Asia and around the globe. The main airport is in Bangkok and several domestic airports provide access to other regions. Bangkok International Airport hosts a wide variety of international airlines from around the world on regularly scheduled commercial flights. There is a good road and rail network but it is extremely congested in the cities. Driving is not recommended for foreigners. Instead, take a taxi or arrange a private transfer between the airports and your vacation homes. In many of the tourists areas, it quite easy to get around by bicycle. There are many local companies that hire bikes. If you are traveling to the islands, boat transfers can be easily arranged to hop from one island to another.

Activities and Attractions near Thailand

Thailand is a destination that appeals to people with a wide range of interests. It is a destination that is probably best known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. Sun lovers and beach enthusiasts can spend their days lazing in the sun. Beach bars and restaurants provide refreshments and entertainment late into the night. Scuba divers can enjoy some spectacular coral reefs. Many are shallow enough to enjoy snorkeling and the water is warm enough to swim for hours. Boating excursions take you to uninhabited islands where you can explore caves and rainforests. There are towering walls for rock climbing and a number of trekking trails.

On land, Thailand is known for its excellent golf courses, affordable shopping and tasty cuisine. There are numerous golf courses along the coast which are highly ranted. Anywhere in Thailand, you can browse the street markets, spend some time haggling with the stall owners, and find yourself some excellent bargains. If you enjoy nature and trekking, the highland area near Chang Mai is the place to go. Here, you can experience rural Thailand at its best. Tall lush forests, towering mountain peaks and quaint villages tucked in among rice paddies and agricultural fields. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering, you can book yourself a treatment in one of the many spas. Thai massage is famous the world over and it is a wonderful way to relax on your vacation.

Best Time of Year to Visit Thailand Villas

In general, Thailand has a warm tropical climate that varies only moderately between the different regions. Temperatures are hot all year and humidity can get extreme during the summer months. For this reason, most travelers choose to visit during the cooler winter months. For the highland and central areas, November to March are generally considered the best times to travel. For the islands, such as Koh Samui, June through September is the favored time to visit.

Things to Remember When Traveling in Thailand

Thailand is a relatively inexpensive destination which means that if you plan carefully you can really stretch your travel budget. Take time to research the various destinations and decide what activities you want to do on your vacation. In that way, you can minimize the time spent traveling between destinations and instead enjoy all the sights that Thailand has to offer. When getting taxis and tuk tuks, agree on a price before you leave; otherwise, you find yourself paying a higher price when you get to your destination. Scooters and bicycles can be hired to get around but driving in the more built-up areas does sometimes require nerves of steel. The roads tend to be a chaotic mixture of vehicles, bicycles, scooters and pedestrians.
