  • Do Not Stay Here Because WE WANT THE PLACE TO OURSELVES!!

"I'm afraid this place will get overbooked and we won't have a place anymore when we need it. But it would not be fair to keep quiet and not let readers know -- this is just the BEST place to stay in the Fort Bonifacio area! First, the warm welcome - a basket of local fruits to go with the owners's jovial personalities. They make sure you're alright. They call the next morning: "This is Tita Nene, is everything fine?" Everything is great! The condo is very pleasant and clean, and you have privacy when you have guests, as the bed is in the loft. When you open the door, count 20 steps, and jump into the pool. What a life! Then, restaurants all around make it unnecessary for any cooking... the choices are varied. Shopping is also fun, especially with Aura mall a few blocks away. You can walk to all these spots. On departure day, I was too frantic and I left my eyeglasses. Mrs. Manlapas kept them for me, and they are now in the possession of a friend. I cannot sing enough praises for this place, for our wonderful stay, for the guards who do a superb job, and of course ... the delightful Manlapases!"

  • How Lucky We Were!

"nine days in Beijing was made even more special because of this great home base! it is everything that is documented in the many positive reviews. we are 4 first-time visitors between 34-70 years and, without hesitation, would HIGHLY RECOMMEND and RETURN. here are other things, some seemingly incidental, that made the place great. (1) owner Betty answers emails in a timely manner with much information about food, shopping, weather. we started corresponding 8 months before our arrival. she is supportive and friendly as well as professional and efficient. (2) the electric outlets have adaptations for western plugs. there was no need for us to bring adapters. (3) the 3 main rooms (bedrooms, parlor) are very large. we left Beijing with 10 suitcases and never felt cramped. (4) the townhouse is in its own separate, secure courtyard. there is a sense of calm and quiet within this area despite it being centrally located in Beijing. (5) hot water is readily available for a shower at any time. the bathroom is the best lit one i have ever been in. (6) the separate washer and dryer were two of the most important items when choosing the place; we used them daily. if we didn't want to use the dryer, there is a large, indoor drying rack in the same room. (7) miss Lu came by every other day to change bedding and towels, sweep and tidy-up, remove recyclable containers. she greeted us when we arrived and was there when we left; both times were at night. (8) the wireless router never failed nor gave us any problems. (9) Betty's recommendations for a local guide and eating establishments were excellent!"

Thailand Travel Tips

Getting to Thailand

Thailand has good air connections with other cities in Southeast Asia and around the globe. The main airport is in Bangkok and several domestic airports provide access to other regions. Bangkok International Airport hosts a wide variety of international airlines from around the world on regularly scheduled commercial flights. There is a good road and rail network but it is extremely congested in the cities. Driving is not recommended for foreigners. Instead, take a taxi or arrange a private transfer between the airports and your vacation homes. In many of the tourists areas, it quite easy to get around by bicycle. There are many local companies that hire bikes. If you are traveling to the islands, boat transfers can be easily arranged to hop from one island to another.

Activities and Attractions near Thailand

Thailand is a destination that appeals to people with a wide range of interests. It is a destination that is probably best known for its beautiful beaches and calm turquoise waters. Sun lovers and beach enthusiasts can spend their days lazing in the sun. Beach bars and restaurants provide refreshments and entertainment late into the night. Scuba divers can enjoy some spectacular coral reefs. Many are shallow enough to enjoy snorkeling and the water is warm enough to swim for hours. Boating excursions take you to uninhabited islands where you can explore caves and rainforests. There are towering walls for rock climbing and a number of trekking trails.

On land, Thailand is known for its excellent golf courses, affordable shopping and tasty cuisine. There are numerous golf courses along the coast which are highly ranted. Anywhere in Thailand, you can browse the street markets, spend some time haggling with the stall owners, and find yourself some excellent bargains. If you enjoy nature and trekking, the highland area near Chang Mai is the place to go. Here, you can experience rural Thailand at its best. Tall lush forests, towering mountain peaks and quaint villages tucked in among rice paddies and agricultural fields. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering, you can book yourself a treatment in one of the many spas. Thai massage is famous the world over and it is a wonderful way to relax on your vacation.

Best Time of Year to Visit Thailand Villas

In general, Thailand has a warm tropical climate that varies only moderately between the different regions. Temperatures are hot all year and humidity can get extreme during the summer months. For this reason, most travelers choose to visit during the cooler winter months. For the highland and central areas, November to March are generally considered the best times to travel. For the islands, such as Koh Samui, June through September is the favored time to visit.

Things to Remember When Traveling in Thailand

Thailand is a relatively inexpensive destination which means that if you plan carefully you can really stretch your travel budget. Take time to research the various destinations and decide what activities you want to do on your vacation. In that way, you can minimize the time spent traveling between destinations and instead enjoy all the sights that Thailand has to offer. When getting taxis and tuk tuks, agree on a price before you leave; otherwise, you find yourself paying a higher price when you get to your destination. Scooters and bicycles can be hired to get around but driving in the more built-up areas does sometimes require nerves of steel. The roads tend to be a chaotic mixture of vehicles, bicycles, scooters and pedestrians.
