Vietnam Travel Tips

Attractions and Activities at Vietnam Vacation Rentals

Vietnam’s cities are something to be experienced. A chaotic bustle of people, vehicles, scooters, roadside stalls and markets someone all blend together as part of city life. Hanoi is known as the cultural hub of Vietnam as it contains many beautiful temple buildings and shrines that are an integral part of the local culture. The Vietnamese island offers pristine beauty and a paradise-style vacation destination. Many resorts are eco-lodges which allow you to appreciate the natural surroundings. The beaches are some of Vietnam’s finest natural attractions. If you travel to more remote areas in the north, you can get a glimpse of more traditional rural Vietnamese lifestyle. It is these parts of Vietnam that are ideal for trekking and exploring on a bicycle.

Visitors to Vietnam Villas

Vietnam is a country with a rich and diverse range of attractions. Most people are familiar with the country only because of the American involvement in the Vietnam War that took place in the 1950s and 1960s; however, it is an incredibly beautiful country in its own right. The south is characterized by tropical rainforests and beautiful sandy beaches. It is still a relatively affordable destination as is becoming a popular alternative to the beach resort areas of Thailand. If you are looking for natural beauty and quiet serenity, a beach vacation in Vietnam would be ideal for you. There are many historical sites in the towns and cities that reflect the country’s turbulent past. Many people with a strong interest in the Buddhist culture choose to visit Vietnam because of the many temples and shrines.

Best Seasons to Visit Vietnam Accommodation

The weather and climate in Vietnam varies depending on if you are visiting the south, central or northern parts of the country. For the most part, the climate is tropical and sub-tropical, and the most extreme temperature ranges occur in the mountainous northern region. The prime travel seasons occur during the drier months which are April to July and December and January. Summers can get very hot and humid, especially in the southern parts. For those wanting to visit the beaches, this is ideal vacation weather.

Traveling to and Around Vietnam

Vietnam has four international airports. The largest airport is Tan Son Naht International Airport and located in Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon. Most commercial international flights from Europe and North America use this airport as their main landing destination in Vietnam. The second-largest airport is Noi Bai International Airport located in Hanoi. The international airport in Da Nang is frequently used for flights from Asian cities such as Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong or Beijing. The Can Thao Airport in South Vietnam has recently been upgraded to an international airport. It hosts flights from Japan, Thailand and Cambodia. There is a relatively good network of domestic flights in Vietnam; if your travel time is limited, this is the best way to get around.

If you have more time, an alternative is to travel by rail. This way you get to experience the beautiful scenery of Vietnam. There are good rail links to most parts of Vietnam with the exception of the highlands. Where the rail routes stop, you can often get a bus or taxi to your destination. Cycling is a popular way to get around for both locals and tourists. This is ideal for quieter rural areas but in urban areas, traffic can be chaotic and cyclists will have to exercise caution on the roads.
