  • Absolutely perfect setting for our stay

"Our family of five adults and an infant stayed in early April and had the most amazing time. Joshua's apartment provides a really wonderful setting for your stay in Kyoto. Compared to the cramped quarters we shared in Tokyo, this apartment was more than enough space for the five of us and our infant. The rooms were very comfortable and quite spacious. You will be floored by just how beautiful this place is, from the gardens to the tatami rooms, it was just absolutely amazing. The location itself was also perfect, less than 10 minute walk to two different supermarkets and a number of great restaurants. The Imperial Gardens are literally around the corner and were just stunning at this time of year. Joshua did a great job explaining how everything worked and gave us some solid advice for how to spend our time in Kyoto. Prior to our stay he was very prompt in his responses to our questions via email. If we ever go back there is no doubt we would stay here again over a hotel."

  • Heaven on Earth

"We could not have picked a better place to stay while visiting Ubud. The villa was immaculate and the staff were first very friendly, helpful and most accommodating. We already miss the coconut pancakes at breakfast along with kadek and Ayu's smiling faces. Made, the driver even waited an extra 2 hours when our ferry was delayed. Iluh was at the villa to greet us and went out of her way to make sure the villa and our time in Ubud went smoothly, she is such a wonderful host. Gede seemed to be on full time duty, he was always there to open the entry doors and help us with anything we needed, from picking up pizza to showing my husband were to buy specific tools, he wanted. Our time in Ubud included my husband and I and our two teenage children. The kids played for hours in the private pool, we walked through the property garden and Made was always available to take us into town. I would not hesitate to recommend "Villa Tirta Indah" to anyone traveling to Ubud and area. It is a small piece of heaven on earth."

  • An Unforgettable Villa!

"What a wonderful way to arrive at Rob’s; chauffeur driven by Oh, his villa manager, and your font of all knowledge for Koh Samui should you need it! The drive to Rob’s is a short distance from the airport. As you leave the ‘highway’ to ascend the hill upon which Rob’s villa is perched, you feel the sense of leaving the hustle and bustle behind, passing on your way a water buffalo in the tamed jungle (at this level) and an immaculately maintained golf course. If you are lucky you may even see a few elephants as we have (presumably they are not at all wild)! Perched on the hill is Rob’s villa Samprasada. You are greeted with orange garlands of marigolds draped over the compound gate. No matter where you have just arrived from, you know that you are just about to be enter a haven. Inside, the villa is beautifully and immaculately presented. Our family of five fell in love with the architecture, the lush and well-planted gardens, the antique and Thai mixed furniture, and the most glorious outdoor tropical showers and baths. The subtlety of design and sublime use of lighting and sound makes you feel as if you really have entered into paradise. Words cannot do justice to the pool placed at the centre of the villa surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees. Beautiful red and blue dragonflies do the mating dance as they follow you up and down the pool. From the main bedroom one opens the sliding door and slips effortlessly into the heavenly water. One could easily stay up here, away from it all, but if you need to venture out the upmarket Fisherman’s Village with the most delectable cuisine is only a 5 minute drive away. We have found the best Indian food we have ever tasted tucked away in Fisherman’s village! Should you wish to get stuck in to something more happening, there is plenty of choice less than 20 min drive away. Rob, a most charismatic and attentive owner of this luxury property, has detailed and well thought out information available which covers the wide range of activities and attractions available in the area. And, of course, beaches with azure blue crystal clear waters are only minutes away from the villa. We have returned to Samprasada a few times now and would highly recommend this property to anyone who seeks tropical luxury and total relaxation."

  • Villa Madu is the best value luxury villa in Ubud. It's also GAY FRIENDLY!

"This is actually my second visit to Villa Madu. I have stayed at many villas in Ubud over the years but if I am with a group of 4 or more people, this is my absolute favourite. It is 5 mins walk to Ubud Central Post Office and Ubud Market. However, when you are within the grounds of Villa Madu you really think you could be in a beautifully manicured jungle. The view is beautiful from every room in the house and the little Joglos at the bottom of the property. The staff were wonderful. Dewa and Wayan are always ready to help with any requests no matter what. Nurdi the wonderful cook was so happy to accommodate us with friends' sometimes odd dietary requirements. The photos on this site don't do the villa justice. It really is a very special place with that old time bali feel but with all the modern comforts required. I definitely recommend this place for families (modern and traditional) and for groups of friends. I'd like to have my next birthday event at the villa."
