  • Had a wonderful time at Kickinghaus

"We are a family of four with kids age 9 and 6 and love the mountains. We were looking for a "home base" for our week-long stay in the Canadian Rockies and found Kickinghaus through a German partner site of VRBO ( The chalet was exactly as we had imagined - lots of space for the kids to spread out and have their private space. Well furnished kitchen, great bath, clean, and a lot of little things that contributed to a positive experience. You can definitely tell that the owners are keeping up the place for their own use, rather than just renting it out at an investment. The owner was very responsive answering some questions we had during our stay. We did some nice things around the area - took the gondola/chair lift at Kicking Horse resort for a visit with Boo, the grizzly bear and some hiking etc.- and also explored the area National Parks - Yoho with Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls, Jasper with Icefields Parkway, Lake Louise etc. Highly recommend!"

  • Awesome retreat.

"This property hosted my group wonderfully. We have an annual ski trip and this place made our 2015 trip awesome. The place is better than the photos show. There is plenty of room for 10+ adults, awesome views and a great ski hill. The hot tub company made a service call, they were quick and friendly, he even gave us some mountain tips for the next days riding. The owners are great, Thanks again!"

  • Small issues did not deter from an amazing Holiday!

"This is a well stocked condo situated on Kicking Horse Ski Resort. The place was clean, towels and linnens were provided and the kitchen was one of the best we have stayed in through VRBO. There were some small issues but really it was a great place to stay. My only real complaint is that there isn't a hot tub. We didn't really think much of it before we went out there but when we arrived we realized it is one of the only condo's in the complex without one. We were with a very large group at many different condos and we were the only one's without. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to stay at Kicking horse."

  • Nice place but needs some sprucing

"Beautiful location and size, right by a beautiful river and the mountains. Quiet area and has lots of stuff to do! The place was very clean, and even had those little extras like chocolate on the pillows and nice towel foldings. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked with condiments and those little things that you always forget to bring. Also fully stocked with clean towels, pillows, and blankets. Comfortable couch for lounging and tons of space. Couple of things to be aware of is that almost all the appliances did not work. The wifi was non-existent (literally no network to even try to get on), the oven was broken, toaster oven broken, dishwasher did very minimal washing and would only allow you to choose one setting, and only one side lamp in the master bedroom worked. The hottub had instructions for us to use it but all the buttons had their label torn off, and when we tried to press them only 2 worked - 1 for lights - 2 to turn up the temperature (no down). It was also filthy - murky green water, was obviously low, and made all our swimsuits reek. Past that booking was actually a bit of a pain, every conversation I had was a struggle and involved much more contact than I wanted (4 phone conversations + emails). As well much of the info I wanted was held back until a week before the booking so planning activities was challenging. But all in all it was a great trip, and the time spent with friends here definitely outweighed the negatives."
