  • Great early season mountain biking getaway!

"Every once in a while a Banffite needs to get away, and by the seventh month of winter (April) this Banffite was a little desperate to get away from the snow and ice. But what to do when you only have a couple of days? Go to "Costa Radium," of course! Like most locals and lucky visitors alike, I've enjoyed my fill of spring skiing in the Bow Valley. But just a 90 minute drive from Banff lies an entirely different ecosystem, and Barb & Ted's Borrego Ridge condo in Radium Hot Springs is the perfect getaway. Just a few easy-to-navigate minutes from the intersection of Highways 93 & 95, it's the perfect home base for outings in the Columbia Valley. Located at the end of a quiet neighbourhood street, the condo looks out on beautiful mountain vistas. Outside the back door and just off the street you'll see grazing deer and sheep. For those like me who love to mountain bike, a variety of excellent early season trails await, and provide an excellent opportunity to explore the nearby offerings of Invermere, Windermere & Fairmont Hot Springs. I just got to ride roughly 70 km of trails in two days, gorged on sweet chili ribs and shrimp at Back Country Jack's (Radium), had coffee and a maple bacon donut at Quality Bakery in Invermere, and enjoyed a refreshing wade in Columbia Lake. Coming home from these adventures to Borrego Ridge was such a delight. Clean, welcoming and well appointed, it has everything you need to relax and kick back. Make your own meals in its bright, spacious kitchen. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace and enjoy a movie, play board games, or read a magazine. If you need ideas for things to do in the area, the house binder has maps and visitor guides. House "systems" are well organized and easy to navigate so you won't waste time settling in or checking out. Barb and Ted are attentive and caring hosts who want to know that you've had a great time. I sure did!"

  • Great Golf Getaway

"We just got back from our annual golf trip - our third year at Timber's Den. The house and location are perfect for our group of 8 with beds enough for everyone, a big well-stocked kitchen (love the new stove with the huge burner for a pasta pot), lots of indoor/outdoor space for socializing, and of course the back yard fire pit. We played three courses in the area and Timber’s Den was a great base to return to every evening. In general the house is in great shape but there are a few things that we noticed on this trip. Things are starting to show their age – the deck furniture and the deck itself is really weathered, the BBQ needs to be replaced (we had to clean it to get it to work properly), and we couldn't find a sharp knife for example. I’d also agree with a previous reviewer that the kitchen needs to be de-cluttered and given a thorough cleaning. Drawers and cupboards are crammed full but disorganized and there is nowhere to store the groceries you bring with you. I realize that the clutter happens because of the renters (thanks to whoever filled the sugar bowl with salt and left it next to the coffee maker for us…) and not the homeowners, but I do feel that a regular top-to-bottom cleaning and de-cluttering would go a long way to making this a perfect retreat. All in all, I would highly recommend Timber’s Den and we look forward to our return next year."

Windermere Travel Tips

Let a Windermere Vacation Whisk You away

If you are planning a trip to the British Columbian Rockies, Lake Windermere should be your destination of choice. Windermere vacation homes are nestled within the heart of British Columbia and surrounded by heritage, charm, art, and beauty. The whole family will enjoy the bright, sunny days and crisp, clean mountain evenings when you choose a Windermere accommodation.

True Elegance and Beauty in Any Windermere Accommodation

These BC rentals, located on eastern shores of Windermere Lake, allow for a truly charming family vacation. You will not be able to ignore the views from Windermere vacation homes which consist of the sunset over the Purcell Mountains or the rippling waters of the lake itself. Your Windermere accommodation will be located in a town of high style with a laid-back atmosphere. During the spring and summer months, you will not be able to help spending your days on the shores of the lakes, golfing, hiking, or just simply being outside.

Windermere Vacation Homes Let You Steal a Glance at the Stolen Church

You cannot stay in BC rentals without visiting The Stolen Church. Even if you are not particularly religious, it is a wonder to see. The romantic tale of the church is perhaps the reason this particular church has become such a popular wedding venue. In the late 1800s, Mrs. Kimpton moved to Windermere from Donald and missed her church so deeply that her husband stole it from the town and had it shipped to Windermere.

Consider BC Rentals during the Snowy Months

Though the setting of any Windermere accommodation is pristine during the summer, the winter is just as lovely. Windermere vacation homes are ideal for visitors who love winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. For those that seek a little adventure during their stay in BC rentals, there is also night skiing available several nights a week.
