  • Comfy cabin at the base of the mountain

"Six of us, all in our early 30s, had an absolute blast staying here while we snowboarded in Revelstoke for three days. The chalet was well suited to start and end our days on the hill. Sleeping accommodations and bedding were top notch, plenty of room so long as a few don't mind sharing the bunk bed room. The two bathrooms allowed everyone to quickly shower up each day. Plenty of towels, kitchen supplies/cutlery/etc. The ski/mud room complete with gear dryer was just the ticket to take care of our equipment. A perfectly quiet location with a mere 5 minute walk to the gondola. You need to drive to get anywhere else in town, but after a grocery trip what else do you need?? The town even has a beer delivery service. No complaints, would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • A Definite Gem!

"We have done VRBO's for a number of years and seem to be able to feel what we are getting into after chatting with the owners, or communicating in some form or other. After talking with Carol (owner), there was no question in regards to integrity. I felt totally comfortable in sending her a deposit and moving forward with confidence. When we arrived the openness and the display of trust was beyond our experience. And, the bottle of red wine with the "have a wonderful time" note sealed our total belief of everything that we had come to know. Anyone who wants a family gathering in a rustic environment with all the amenities of a 5Star environment, I would recommend wholeheartedly to try this little nugget in the BC Rockies. Not only was the home second to none but the entire SKI hill with all of its activities really keep everyone busy and full of life! We especially loved the hot tub, the games table, the dream kitchen, the fire pit and the construction of the LOG home. Not to mention the master bedroom with all of its antiques, comes right out of a Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. Nonetheless, if you love the outdoors, and if you want to get away, book this high-end log home, situated in a quaint little hamlet in lower British Columbia. We sure are grateful that owners like this are willing to share something of this quality with others. Enjoy!"

  • Had a wonderful time at Kickinghaus

"We are a family of four with kids age 9 and 6 and love the mountains. We were looking for a "home base" for our week-long stay in the Canadian Rockies and found Kickinghaus through a German partner site of VRBO (fewo-direkt.de). The chalet was exactly as we had imagined - lots of space for the kids to spread out and have their private space. Well furnished kitchen, great bath, clean, and a lot of little things that contributed to a positive experience. You can definitely tell that the owners are keeping up the place for their own use, rather than just renting it out at an investment. The owner was very responsive answering some questions we had during our stay. We did some nice things around the area - took the gondola/chair lift at Kicking Horse resort for a visit with Boo, the grizzly bear and some hiking etc.- and also explored the area National Parks - Yoho with Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls, Jasper with Icefields Parkway, Lake Louise etc. Highly recommend!"

  • Comfy and quiet

"The house was wonderfully clean and comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked and we wanted for nothing. There were 3 beaches within a short drive, some nice hikes and our whole family really loved it! No complaints."
