"Lazy Bowen Hideaway was better than advertised. The home itself and all of the upgrades are top notch. The kitchen is well equipped. The bedding was very comfortable. Views unsurpassable. We took leisurely walks around Kilarney Lake, explored the itrails at Cape Bowen and took part of the trail up mount Gardiner. This is the perfect spot to unwind, relax and enjoy beautiful views. We ate lunch in "The Cove" right off the ferry, but shopped in Vancouver for groceries for our other meals. The grocery in Snug Cove is fine for incidentals, but I would reommend shopping at a full service grocery before coming over on the ferry. Why eat at a restaurant when you have these views at Lazy Bowen Hideaway? I do not recommend trying to come without a 4 wheel drive car that enables you to get down Cleator Road. We had considered trying to make our trip without a car and were SO glad we did not do that. People in Snug Cove are very friendly and helpful. We didn't know that the ferry ticket we purchased in Horseshoe Bay was a round trip ticket and that return trips do not need to be scheduled..first come, first serve. The townees informed us very nicely without making us feel silly."

"My fiancé and I spent a few days at the Lazy B on our vacation this year. It was fantastic! A great break from the city. The place was comfortable, immaculate, and had spectacular views. We loved the selection of 90s DVDs, and a well appointed kitchen made for comfy evenings in.
For those with 2wheel drive, don't despair! The cabin only is a short jaunt down the hill. Even fully loaded with groceries and bags it wasn't a problem for our able bodies.
Don't miss the great 5k run around Killarny Lake, and Tuscany restaurant.
Can't wait to come back in the winter and enjoy that wood stove!

"This home is one of the most spectacular, breathtaking, and peaceful places I have ever been. From the moment we walked in, my husband, our children (age 11 and 13) and I were completely overcome by the incredible beauty & serenity of the place. We never wanted to leave - literally! We are normally a very active family, however the house & the view are just so special, that we sat on the comfy furniture on the beautiful deck for hours and hours each day, playing cards, reading, eating, napping, talking. We did explore the gorgeous coastline by kayak each day, and we took water taxis to dinner twice (which was super fun). The whole place is just soooo stunning, peaceful, luxurious, cozy, serene, that my kids and I nearly cried as we left. We cannot wait to go back next summer. It is a very very special place."

"We stayed at the cabin for 2 nights and cant say we could have enjoyed our time off better. The place was well equipped for us to make our meals and we enjoyed our meals on the deck outside. I have to say the view was the best part! Our girls enjoyed the beach which was not crowded and just a hike down from the cabin and they were quite kicked to see deer in the backyard. The ferry to the island is short and sweet with amazing photo-ops. I would recommend the property to anyone looking for a quiet time with the option for some adventure as well."
