  • Unforgettable family vacation

"We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation with our families. The Eastman Waterfront Retreat offered us comfort, relaxation, and natural beauty as far as the eye could see. There was a group of nine (we rented the cottage next door too) which included both sets of parents as well as my grandmother, and everyone felt like we had treated them to a luxury resort. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. We ended up making use of the private dock every day after cobbling together some fishing gear. Everyone would either gather and look on from the deck or try their luck on the dock. It became a fun past time that everyone could enjoy. Being so quaint, Bowen Island was an easy place for us to explore as a big group across a range of ages. We enjoyed the Eastman home and island so much that we ended up not going into Vancouver as often as we had originally planned. Thanks to Jan & Charles for taking such good care of us!"

  • Bowen Island hideaway idyll

"This lovely, seasoned and homey cottage was as welcoming and comfortable as we had hoped from the description and photos. The view was typically gorgeous west coast scenery and we appreciated the light show of the full moon over the water on our second night. We found it to be the quintessential vacation home, well stocked to meet every need; extremely comfortable furnishings; lots of books; some modern technological touches; and the patina of life. Blessed with a week of very warm and dry weather, we put the decks to good use, but we also managed three days of hikes, a swim in the sea off the dock, bird watching, and an afternoon of kayaking. There's a lovely 9-hole golf course on the island - but we'd left the clubs at home this time. The small commercial centre of Snug Cove was very convenient, a 10 minute drive from the cottage, and it provided all necessities, and places for coffee and a dinner and a breakfast out for us. While the access road to the cottage was steep and we did not own an all-wheel drive vehicle, these two active seniors found the five minute walk up to the road was not a deterrant. The description of the road condition and advice on its use was accurate and helpful. We only live an hour and a half away, but in an urban setting that seems a different world, and our goal of spending a week reading, relaxing, and re-connecting was well met in this lovely setting."

  • Not So Lazy Bowen

"We highly recommend this unit. My wife and I stayed in the upper unit. 4 friends stayed in the lower unit. It was very nice and comfortable, better than described, a bargain for such a good location and everything worked good. Perched on solid rock on the water. We brought our kayaks and also snorkeled and hiked. Great restaurants in town. Jan was nice and very helpfull answering our questions. We even found it exciting navigating the 4WD road."

  • Magical!

"Tucked-in against a rock face and suspended 30 feet over the rocks and sea, the Beach House on Bowen Island is quite simply – magical! Stepping onto the deck, surrounded by towering evergreens, arbutus trees, rocks and ocean, is like stepping into a Tom Thomson painting. On our first evening we were entertained by the Seals and Turkey Vultures while watching a spectacular sunset. On day two a family of deer watched us showering from atop the rocks. We were there for four nights and during our stay we hardly saw another person, and best of all, only one motorboat! We have rented a number of architecturally significant houses, Seaside, FL, Sarasota, FL, Palm Springs, CA, Stratford, ON - but this house by superkül has to be our favourite – for now! This truly is a way to experience the beauty of BC in first-class comfort."
