  • Perfect Getaway! Quiet oceanfront that is minutes away from all Nanaimo has to offer!

"What a wonderful place! My boyfriend and I drove up from Victoria to spend a few days in Nanaimo. This property, on the north side of town, has great ocean views and is so quiet and peaceful that you wouldn't know that you are minutes away from everything in the city. Upon our arrival, Natalia and Victor were nothing but hospitable. They not only gave us recommendations for great restaurants, but also let us try their own smoked trout! Victor told us of many nearby places to visit. We did our best to do as many in the amount of time we had. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The downstairs apartment was large, very clean and opened straight onto the back porch. We were often greeted by the baby deer and bunnies. The accommodations were more than we could have asked for. And whatever we did ask for, Natalia and Victor were ready and willing to help. As we were leaving, waiting in the vehicle line to catch our ferry to Vancouver, I realized I had left my phone next to the bed. I called Victor, and Natalia immediately hopped in the car to drive my phone to me so we wouldn't miss out ferry. They saved us so much stress (even though I'm afraid I caused them some)! Victor and Natalia, you were wonderful hosts. I know that if we ever visit Nanaimo again, we will be staying with you. Thanks for a wonderful stay! The Cathedral Grove trees were such a neat experience! Hopefully we can take you up on that fishing offer sometime :)"

  • Wonderful experience

"An absolutely wonderful island to visit. We stayed at Captains Quarters which is a quaint, well kept cottage on the harbour. Definitely would recommend it to anyone ."

  • Location, location, location.

"We love to walk, and we wanted to see downtown Victoria, and we found this Townhome to be the perfect place to stay. Just one block from China town, we cut through every time we went for a walk. There was always something interesting going on there. My wife and I are vegan, and Victoria is the most vegan friendly city we have ever visited. Be Love and Rebar were two of the best restaurants that we have found. And don't leave without taking a whale tour. After cruising with a pod of killer whales, I will never be the same. The Waterfront Loft was as nice as the pictures. I enjoy cooking, and found the kitchen to be fully stocked with the appropriate cookware for making some nice meals at home. After a trip to the farmers market, we found everything we needed to prepare the food. Frances was very helpful when we arrived and made up feel very welcome. We had a rental car, and it was parked close to the door and very convenient. A two block drive and you are on the main road to the airport. The loft could not have been in a better location. We are already discussing dates for a return to Victoria. It is a beautiful city."

Mayne Island Travel Tips

Sheer Simplicity: Mayne Island Vacation Rentals

Settled in the Gulf of Georgia, among the southern regions of British Columbia, is Mayne Island; a picturesque stretch of sand and sun. This collection of lighthouses, heritage museums, and forestry provides the ideal location for those seeking a different kind of holiday. It will be a vacation without the frantic pace and even more frantic strangers. Surround yourself with local beauty and local charm, all from the comfort of one of the many Mayne Island vacation rentals.

Find Nature Once Again With Mayne Island Accommodations

For the family longing for a gentler escape, look no further than Mayne Island. There you will find an offering of biking trails (especially popular due to the distinct lack of traffic on the roads), pleasure cruises (complete with whale watching), and scheduled walkabouts. Learn of a celebrated history with such treats as the Plumper Pass Lockup, a jail turned museum. The famed Japanese Garden; which reflects the rare bursts of outside influences is also a family favorite. Discover this quaint destination and give your family something to enjoy every day. And, of course, enjoy every evening by returning to the comfort of your vacation home.

British Columbia Lodging Offers Elegance and Ease

Mayne Island is beautiful. Relax on the island your entire vacation to avoid the inconvenience of shuttling back to the mainland every afternoon, having to struggle to reach a hotel. Why not instead remain on the shoreline, nestled between the sea and spectacular views? Rental houses allow you to do that. Spend your vacation with the convenience of spacious rooms, centralized locations, and immediate access to fun.

Don’t waste your time with the common retreats. Flee instead to where there are languid hours, calm twilights, and the satisfaction of memories well made. Mayne Island is the perfect answer to your family’s vacation woes. It’s waiting.
