"Let’s get one thing straight. There are better places than “Galiano Getaway”. Statistically, it’s very likely that within our own galaxy’s 40-odd billion earth-sized planets in those habitable zones of sun-like red dwarf stars you will find at least half a dozen better properties. That is if you are moved by houses nestled in forests populated by great stalwart (advanced second-growth) Douglas and teasing half-naked beautiful twisting Arbutus trees on all sides, a sloping forest floor patchwork of moss-covered rocks of many sizes and colours, dappled with strewn Arbutus leaves, all of it primeval, enchanted; or by a broad balcony hosting easy chairs, a dinner table and a barbecue grill and accommodating itself brilliantly to a wide, Westward view of rosy-blue dawns, orange sunsets, cloudless full-moon-lit skies (Thursday and Friday) over the muted ripples of Tricomali Strait waters of the Salish Sea; or by cozy indoor living spaces, crackling woodstove fires on a surprising great hearth-stone and well-stocked bookshelves and video drawers; for such folk, like for our family, it will seem a privilege to have experienced this unforgettable enchanted place. But it all depends on what one likes and how far one is prepared to travel."Guest: Not-easily-impressed Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 14, 2014View listing
"Great Location and great view of the Inner Habour. Better still are Trish & Steve who look after your every need and make it a joy to stay. They have a great welcome package to get you started and are very helpful on where to shop, have a coffee and where to get the best Sticky Cinnamon Buns. If you want to relax and enjoy Victoia- this is the one of the best places to stay or other units that Trish and Steve manage."Guest: Retired Canadian Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 18, 2014View listing
"Our first visit to Victoria Island. Loved Sidney where Lorna and Bob have their beautiful VRBO. Felt like heaven on earth. The views from their deck were so peaceful and just magnificent . The décor was just perfect Asia flavor and most comfortable. The info and suggestions from the from L/B were endless and oh so helpful. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others. Loved our stay.l thanks so to you both. "We enjoyed a very peaceful week at Seabreeze Cottage. Our favorite pastime was sitting on the wraparound deck with a drink or a meal, watching the wildlife (a heron and seals, among others), the yachts and the ferries. It was also a great base for exploring the island. It was always a dilemma whether to try the many excellent restaurants or stay home and enjoy the view. Our 6-year-old daughter was especially thrilled with the bunk beds and the Battleship game."Guest: Julie Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 7, 2014View listing

The famed Japanese Garden; which reflects the rare bursts of outside influences is also a family favorite. Discover this quaint destination and give your family something to enjoy every day. And, of course, enjoy every evening by returning to the comfort of your vacation home.
British Columbia Lodging Offers Elegance and Ease
Mayne Island is beautiful. Relax on the island your entire vacation to avoid the inconvenience of shuttling back to the mainland every afternoon, having to struggle to reach a hotel. Why not instead remain on the shoreline, nestled between the sea and spectacular views? Rental houses allow you to do that. Spend your vacation with the convenience of spacious rooms, centralized locations, and immediate access to fun.
Don’t waste your time with the common retreats. Flee instead to where there are languid hours, calm twilights, and the satisfaction of memories well made. Mayne Island is the perfect answer to your family’s vacation woes. It’s waiting.
