  • Lovely place on South Pender Island

"We had a great time on Pender Island(s), in no small part thanks to this fantastic house. We found it to be spacious, clean, and very well stocked for our needs. We only needed to bring our own food, everything else was available and in great condition. Our kids loved the games and video collection! The property is located on South Pender Island, near Gowlland Point which is a beautiful and quiet beach with a hiking trail. The roads are great and it was easy to explore both islands. All in all, a highly recommended place!"

  • Tranquil, Inspirational & Serene - An artist's paradise!

"A wonderful hideaway to be alone in. Beautiful scenery, wonderful view, beautiful arbutus trees. Watch the sun set, or see the moon cast light upon the white capped ocean on a windy night. Listen to the ocean as you fall asleep, and relax with your coffee on the deck in the morning as the fog lifts. The island is full of friendly people, staff at the resort are very helpful. The cottage is conveniently located close to the ferry (great for those of us without vehicles!) and well equipped with everything you need. It's also a good size in case you have a full family. If you like to hike, there are lots of great trails of varying levels of challenge throughout the island. Walk to the galleries and different ports with your camera! At the end of the day come back to what feels like home and make your favourite meal. After, enjoy a cup of tea while stargazing. Then turn in for the night and let the ocean hypnotize you into a deep, restful sleep."

  • Fantastic 60th Birthday get-away!!!!!

"We just got home from our one week stay at this lovely oceanfront vacation home. I want to turn around and go back to enjoy one more sunset followed by a soak in the fantastic tub with the full ocean view. This home has everything you could ever need to stay awhile and so much room for everyone. There were 4 of us on this get-away ... each of us had our own room ( 2 with picture perfect views) and 2 extra large bathrooms. Most of us found the beds comfortable. The livingroom/diningroom can easily accomodate a good size group without any problems. There is a deck that runs the whole length of the house and has a table and chairs for outside dining plus 4 lounge chairs to sit and soak up some rays. Loved the deck! The home was clean and had lots of available linen, laundry soap, etc. so there was little need to buy anything extra other than bottled water. We used the kitchen on a regular basis and after a little hunt and find we were able to find most everything we needed. The owner readily responded to any inquiries and I felt comfortable dealing with her. Pender Island is very laid back so if you want a place to sit back and relax this is the island for you! We found a number of trails/beaches that were perfect for getting out and about to see the local sights and wildlife. Down at Thieves Bay some of our group saw a small pod of Orcas just 15 feet off shore. We also spotted a humpback whale , porpoises, seals, and daily deer sightings (even under the deck). The one and only shopping "mall" had all the basics , including a grocery store/liquor store/post office/bakery/book store/gift shop/gas station, and pharmacy. There is a small farmer's market on saturday mornings - fun to pick up some local art or fresh vegies. We even visited a local winery and tasted two lovely white wines produced on the island. Lunch/brunch on sunday was at the Cafe at Hope Bay ... a gorgeous location for a nice little restaurant ,with a lot of local color and good food. What more can I say.... we will definately be back."

  • Bright, peaceful, comfortable and a terrific view.

"Alma and Mack, thank you again for letting us stay at your fabulous cottage this past weekend. We weren't exaggerating when we said it is the nicest one we have stayed in so far. Mike asked me what I look for when I pick a place for us to stay, and I said I look at the bedroom, that it doesn't look outdated, or has a bedspread that was probably embroidered by someone's grandmother. And I look at the living room furniture, because it's quite possible we may have to be sitting inside due to the weather. Your cottage was wonderfully decorated, and the new reclining chairs you have are extremely comfortable. So often rentals are where all the outdated and tired things end up from the renters main house. This is certainly not the case with your cottage. It was a delight."
