"We spent a beautiful week at 'Suncrest Cottage' in February (2015). The cottage is clean, comfy and a wonderful home away from home. We intended on travelling to a couple of the other Gulf Islands but found we had plenty to do and see on Salt Spring Island. We will return again, undoubtedly! Maria had our fridge stocked with eggs, granola, milk, and homemade cake and jam. Both the welcoming and the sunshine were lovely and warm. :) PS Check out the Fernwood coffee shop up the street, a great place too!

"My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed the cabin. It is a sun drenched little gem and I liked it more every day. A 5 minute drive to town, so a great location. The cabin is surrounded by trees and greenery and is so calming!( but you can hear or see the occasional car pass by on the road below. )
The cabin is not fancy but has all the basics needed to survive in the woods:) Great seating area and the most outrageously comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in! ( no radio and while there is a TV it is not connected) but who needs to watch TV anyway? The bird sanctuary across the road provided the most interesting bird calls occasionally.
Only ran into the owner once and we chatted for a few minutes, very personable and had good suggestions for hikes/beaches etc. A great yoga and wellness center down the road that I visited twice!
As a suggestion, a "welcome" note or binder detailing local restaurants etc. for first time visitors would be helpful..There were some maps and while we have visited the island a few times, we know our way around and where to eat, so it wasn't an issue for us.
Overall, a very relaxing visit and return in a heartbeat."

A wonderful heritage house in a great location on beautiful Salt Spring Island
"Before punching in the entrance code, I stood on the verandah and enjoyed the view of Ganges Harbour with its variety of moored boats and other marine traffic coming in, and thought how lucky we were to have found a rental in such a secluded and lovely site. Once in the house, I was even more delighted, as it had a gracious air, was well furnished and the living room with its colourful art glass installation over the fireplace flanked with the bookshelves was a highlight for me. We were a party of five old friends, so once the house was explored, we decided the only fair way to allocate the bedrooms was to draw straws - and I was not the lucky person who drew the one for the master bedroom with its great view and ensuite bathroom, but was happy in my small upstairs one. It was a real plus to be able to stroll into Ganges for meals, art gallery visits, and restaurants - plus two excellent bakeries. I very much hope we will be able to have at the least an annual visit to this spacious and charming house, set in its extensive grounds."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Captain's Quarters. Salt Spring is a wonderful and welcoming Island. The cottage was delightful to stay in for the month. it is so clean and has everything we needed. We could watch the ferries arriving and leaving Fulton harbour. We walked along the beach and the nearby trails. The landlord was so friendly and interested in giving us information about the island. We hope to return for yet another stay in the future."
