Great value, welcoming hosts, romantic and private setting.
"This was our second time at Tranquility Cottage. We chose this location for a number of reasons: proximity to dining options, peacefulness, privacy, serenity, access to hiking opportunities, and a hot tub to unwind and relax in at day's end. We were not disappointed. Being avid walkers, the 3.5 km trek to town was minor and helped us work off the dinners and wine from the many great dining venues in Ganges. There are many hiking trails on Salt Spring Island, ranging in difficulty from easy to strenuous. Kim and Philip provided maps and literature in the cottage to assist us in our choices for hiking adventures. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and even a welcome basket containing fresh eggs, bread, organic milk, juice, fruit, and preserves was there upon our arrival. There was a plethora of videos, music, games, and reading material available to fill in those few minutes we didn't spend relaxing. Kim and Philip were great hosts and ensured that we enjoyed our stay while affording us our privacy. It was a distinct pleasure to recline in the hot tub under the stars, all the while being serenaded by a chorus of frogs. A stellar opportunity to relax and rejuvenate in this bucolic setting. We highly recommend Tranquility Cottage. Cheers! Marg and Jim, Victoria, B.C."

"We stayed here for a week recently and woke up to deer grazing out front on 2 of the mornings. It is unbelievably quiet, and the views are absolutely stunning! We sat out on the deck every morning with a cup of coffee watching the woodpeckers, taking in the view, and enjoying the ferry making its way to and from Fulford Harbour each day. This never got old! And each night, we'd take our glass of wine outside and do the same thing. At dusk or just before the sun is disappearing, the bats come out and they are amazing to watch swoop for bugs. We came to Salt Spring for a quiet and restful vacation (even though the hubby had to do some work), and that's what we got! The cabin includes everything you need to be comfortable for a week, and a strong WiFi internet connection. We also enjoyed having Netflix! Some of the restaurants we tried: Seaside at Vesuvius - VERY YUMMY mussels!!; Tree House Cafe - great food and neat place to eat; Rock Salt at Fulford Harbour - wonderful view and friendly waitress; Fernwood Cafe - good for breakfast out; Moby's Pub - great food and great place to meet some locals and enjoy watching your favourite sports on big screen TVs. Absolutely go whale watching with Ian (1-888-656-9878). He knows where those whales are and if there are lots of whale watching boats out, he seems to be the guy who just knows where they will pop up next. Its a red zodiac, and he's parked at Ganges harbour (his office is beside Salt Spring Adventures). We saw 4 transient killer whales on our venture - spectacular! He won't go out if there's no whales. Also a must do is the Farmer's Market on Saturday - lots of fun! The owner Judy was great to deal with."

A wonderful heritage house in a great location on beautiful Salt Spring Island
"Before punching in the entrance code, I stood on the verandah and enjoyed the view of Ganges Harbour with its variety of moored boats and other marine traffic coming in, and thought how lucky we were to have found a rental in such a secluded and lovely site. Once in the house, I was even more delighted, as it had a gracious air, was well furnished and the living room with its colourful art glass installation over the fireplace flanked with the bookshelves was a highlight for me. We were a party of five old friends, so once the house was explored, we decided the only fair way to allocate the bedrooms was to draw straws - and I was not the lucky person who drew the one for the master bedroom with its great view and ensuite bathroom, but was happy in my small upstairs one. It was a real plus to be able to stroll into Ganges for meals, art gallery visits, and restaurants - plus two excellent bakeries. I very much hope we will be able to have at the least an annual visit to this spacious and charming house, set in its extensive grounds."
