"If you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation with a million dollar view then you need to stay here! The rental was clean & perfect for a couple! I liked that there were 2 bathrooms; one that had a 2person soaker tub with the view of the ocean & other islands. We were greeted by a neighbour's dog which was perfect as our dog had someone to play with. The owner came right away & retrieved her dog. We didn't mind as the dog was very friendly & good with our dog. The drove to Ganges is 10 minutes or less, perfect for the famous Saturday Market. The owners were very friendly and answered any questions. We are looking to purchase land on the island and the owner offered to help any way she could! I would recommend this for a couple who want to get away from the bright lights & loud noises of the city! It is clean, quaint and very peaceful. The view is breathtaking and sunsets amazing!"

"We spent a wonderful week at Fernwood Beach House. We loved the house and it was perfect for our needs. It is nicely furnished and decorated and the kitchen is large and has everything one could need to make a meal. The beds were comfortable with nice linens and there were ample and good quality towels, dish cloths, etc. We enjoyed sitting on the deck for meals and star-gazing at night. We saw hummingbirds, grouse and bunnies from the deck. We walked along the beach just below and went to the wharf in the evenings to watch the sunset. We had coffee at the Fernwood Cafe a short walk away. Our two adult sons joined us for a couple of nights and the house was perfect for the four of us. We went swimming at St Mary's Lake which is a short drive away and into Ganges, which is also nearby. We loved the honour veggie stands that were everywhere. The location of the cottage is excellent and the road that its on is quiet and fine for walking and cycling. I would definitely book again and found Trinda helpful and pleasant to work with."

"My husband and I rented this lovely home for a week in July. Evidently newly remodeled, we found the home beautifully and very comfortably furnished inside and out, with great beds; nice linens, nice good quality dishes and kitchen equipment. Even a french press! Very different than the run of the mill thrift shop stuff that we have sometimes encountered. The location is very private and quiet yet accessible to town and the sunset view is certainly one of the best on the Island. We ended up cooking or doing takeout a bunch of nights as we didn't want to miss it. Last year we were on the same road but less far north and we were right across from the noise and lights of the paper mill across the bay. Not nearly as nice. Both the owner and caretaker were both very helpful and responsive. We did rent kayaks for a couple of days and had them delivered - lovely! We would rent this home again in a heartbeat. And we love Salt Spring - it has definitely become a place of return for us. It may be worth noting for groups of adults - the master is a 10 - the other bedrooms much less special though certainly fine."

"My husband and I enjoyed our weeklong stay at the Cottage of Tranquility. Set on a hill above the owner's farm, surrounded by tall trees and a view down to the meadow, it truly is a tranquil place. I loved sitting on the porch each morning surrounded by nature with only the clucking of chickens and birdsong to be heard. Such a welcome change for a city dweller.
The cottage is spacious, tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable. We appreciated the welcome basket of breakfast supplies and also having access to the extensive DVD collection.
Having our own, private hot tub was a real bonus. Whether soaking by night, or late afternoon after exploring the island, the hot tub was such a treat, especially being outdoors with vines and trees surrounding it.
The cottage is just a few minutes drive from the hub of the island activity in Ganges. If walking, one could do it in 30 -45 minutes depending on your pace.
Philip and Kim are friendly hosts and we enjoyed spending some time with them on our only rainy day.
We chose this vacation cottage because we wanted a peaceful self-catering vacation home with outdoor space to enjoy and we certainly were not disappointed. I would give it four and a half star rating."
