"My friends and I stayed 5 nights in the Penthouse. It was very comfortable (even the pull out bed) clean and quiet. The view is beautiful at night and we loved being so close to the bus stop, bakery, store and coffee shop. We couldn't have found a better place to stay and Jane was great to work with."Guest: jmh Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 25, 2014View listing
"We enjoyed our two week stay in this well cared for older home. The charming cottage is located within walking distance to downtown Courtenay's amenities including shops, cafes and groceries. Situated in a pleasantly landscaped yard, screened by hedges for privacy, we enjoyed the quiet location. The spacious interior has ample room and adequate cookware to prepare meals, bake a cake or entertain guests. All the appliances work well and the bathroom's clawfoot tub is wonderful for relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing. It's a bonus to have laundry on premises. We have been traveling for 15 months, so appreciated the space to spread out awhile. Maureen is always helpful and concerned about her guests comfort. When the temperature dropped below freezing she called to make certain we were staying warm enough. For convenience to downtown Courtenay and local Farmer's Market, this is hard to beat. We highly recommend you give it a try when visiting in the area. If it's not available, we also have experienced the Chocolate Cottage and it is equally wonderful, just smaller."Guest: Shirley & Wayne H. "How can I put into words what a lovely vacation we had. We are 3 married couples in our mid-fifties who have known each other for 4 decades. We wanted a homey atmosphere where we could relax after a day of exploring the local points of interest, cook the local food we caught (king salmon and dungeness crab), enjoy the scenery from the deck, and retreat to our bedrooms for a good night rest so we could do it all over again the next day. Rocky Point fulfilled all those wishes and more! Don and Judy Johnson are the best of hosts, listening to our ideas of fun and suggesting outings for us. Don even took us on a successful fishing outing. We all celebrated with a wonderful meal of crab, salmon, potatoes, corn on the cob and dessert all cooked in the well stocked kitchen. We topped the night off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Other highlights of the trip included seeing orca whales breach from our perch on the deck, a bon-fire on the beach, bus tour to Victoria to the fisherman's wharf, viewing local art, and enjoying Butchart Gardens. How Wonderful! Thank you Don and Judy for helping good friends stay close and make lasting memories! Sincerely, Murray and Carol"Guest: Carol Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 9, 2014View listing
"We loved our relaxing stay at 'Surf Side House' Thank you Ines for sharing your beautiful home. The first thing that hits you when you walk onto the property is the stunning unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. The word 'Wow' was the first word out of our mouths. This view is enjoyed from that first moment and further showcased through the big windows in the house. We also loved the hot tub perched above the ocean so much! There are so many lovely things to say about this house. The open concept design, a well stocked kitchen with plenty of housewares, a super comfy long couch and reclining chairs, a cozy wood stove, a super comfy king sized bed. The special touches of an abundance of beach towels for the hot tub and a towel at the front door to dry off our little doggies. The tourist brochures, spices in the cupboard, coffee, tea and sugar in the canisters. The outdoor area is charming with views everywhere and offers privacy as well. The patio was a lovely place to watch the wildlife swim by. My husband loved the huge bbq! This beautiful property is close to so many beautiful beaches and parks. Sooke Pot Holes, French Beach and not too far from Jordan River where you can watch the surfers (rain or shine! ) We took a little day trip to Botanical Beach which I highly recommend. Incredible huge waves crashing in. We were so distracted by their beauty that we didn't see the big black bear enjoying the view as well. I don't think we've ever run so fast! There are many fantastic memories that have been made from our stay at your home Ines and I cannot wait for the next time! Thank you!!"Guest: Sandra Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 17, 2014View listing
