  • Sunsets to die for, in a home you wish you owned

"When you travel quite a bit (as we do) and when you read reviews, especially consistently good reviews, there is always the question – are these real and accurate. From experience we can say, unfortunately places don’t always live up to the reviews. But having just spent nearly a month at Thalassa Point we understand why the ratings are exclusively a well deserved 5 of out 5. Great location, easy access to services yet remote and quiet – exactly what we were looking for. Other reviewers understandably highlight the attention to detail, the well equipped kitchen etc. All true – but the extras are so nice. Yes – there is a connector for music for your iPod/iPhone/iPad in the upstairs stereo. Yes – there is a wireless printer in the downstairs office (this was a working holiday for us). If needed, there is clear instructions for everything. And everything is new, or near new, clean and decorated with care and taste. This may be less of an issue for a night or weekend stay, but so nice for an extended stay. Add that our hosts (Robert & Mark) balanced friendliness, area insight etc with letting us maintain our privacy when we wanted was very appreciated. We have a few pictures of stunning sunsets over gardens that have a decade or more of planning and attention to remind us why we will be back."

  • The perfect place to stay in Parksville

"You will be more than impressed with this condo. Living on Vancouver Island already feels like paradise but this was the best place to go for a on-island 'staycation'. The unit had everything we needed and more. Steps to the beach and park next door we were able to maximize our time outside, spending hours at the beach and picnicking next door. Inside there was plenty of room with a large open concept living space, with comfortable seating for a large number and a dining table off the kitchen made eating as a family easy. The unit was fully stocked and even included fun board games for a couple rainy days. Next door is a traditional-style British pub that has excellent food and was minutes away by foot so everyone could enjoy a beverage. The owner is extremely organized and helpful. Looking forward to coming back!"

  • Beautiful Cottage in a Stunning Location

"Just returned from an amazing 4-day getaway with two girlfriends at Garden Beach Cottage! By far one of the nicest cottages I've ever had the pleasure of renting: the location is stunning and right on the beach. I've never seen so many eagles and deer from that close up. The cottage itself is extremely well-maintained, was spotless upon our arrival, and features multiple levels of sprawling decks for eating and lounging. The decor was well chosen and extremely charming (beautiful vintage stove!), and was so well outfitted. Anything you could possibly need is probably in the cupboard. Plastic wrap, wax paper, a couple dozen different kinds of dried herbs, a hair dryer, floatation devices for going in the water - all the little things I usually forget to pack while travelling but that make your stay way more comfortable. Plus the things other cottages tend to skimp on, like towels and robes… there was an abundance of fluffy towels so we never had to worry about doing laundry during our stay (though there was a washer/dryer if we had needed to). The owner obviously takes a lot of pride in this property and in being an amazing host. Thank you for everything, we will definitely be back!"

  • Our Thanksgiving weekend

"What a beautiful place to be "home base" for exploration and adventures in the Ucluelet and Tofino areas including Pacific Rim Park and Wild Pacific Trail. And to celebrate time together as a family. And when, for 24 hours, it did rain pretty hard it was a lovely place to retreat, read, play games while still feeling very much in nature as the views from the windows throughout the house are amazing. (And change with the change in tides - so cool!) The kitchen was one of the best equipped we have ever used through VRBO, or elsewhere. So making Thanksgiving dinner was no problem, and you could continue to take in the view while doing so. And there is a great propane grill as well. All was well maintained. Bedrooms were comfortable. There are 2 king size beds and a double pull out couch (in a separate room from the living room). And 2 bathrooms. Additionally the owner was easily accessible by email or phone and helpful with regards to any small detail. We would love to return and hope it can be soon."
