  • Wonderful Retreat

"Thank you so much for offering me and my dog such a fabulous place to hang out during my new home construction. The cottage and location were perfect and allowed me to explore the area. You were always responsive and made sure I had a contact even if you were away. Chocolate Cottage was cozy and provided me with a home away from home. Thanks again and let's make sure to keep in touch."

  • Heaven!

"We spent a heavenly 2 nights here as a home base while we biked in Cumberland. We were looking for a cozy, luxury getaway hidden in the forest, and we certainly found it here. The carriage house is immaculate, clean, cozy, comfortable, with so much attention to detail and providing all the necessities. The hot tub and out door shower were great, especially in the rain! They provided beach towels and robes. The huge soaker tub looked luxurious (although we didn't actually try it). There was a great selection of movies, Apple TV and Netflix, and a very comfy couch which we snuggled into in front of the electric fireplace after a long rainy day of biking. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, and has a great open concept floor plan. There was a great deal of privacy, beautiful gardens and forest surrounding the property so it truly felt like a relaxing escape. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, but left us to enjoy the property. We will definitely return again and highly recommend this place for a great getaway."

  • Location! Location! Location!

"We enjoyed our two week stay in this well cared for older home. The charming cottage is located within walking distance to downtown Courtenay's amenities including shops, cafes and groceries. Situated in a pleasantly landscaped yard, screened by hedges for privacy, we enjoyed the quiet location. The spacious interior has ample room and adequate cookware to prepare meals, bake a cake or entertain guests. All the appliances work well and the bathroom's clawfoot tub is wonderful for relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing. It's a bonus to have laundry on premises. We have been traveling for 15 months, so appreciated the space to spread out awhile. Maureen is always helpful and concerned about her guests comfort. When the temperature dropped below freezing she called to make certain we were staying warm enough. For convenience to downtown Courtenay and local Farmer's Market, this is hard to beat. We highly recommend you give it a try when visiting in the area. If it's not available, we also have experienced the Chocolate Cottage and it is equally wonderful, just smaller."

  • Perfect Place For The Entire Family.

"After a long travel day from Seattle, we arrived shortly before sunset to a beautiful and well appointed beach house for the entire family to enjoy. The back yard was perfect for a little soccer practice, a fire pit to roast marshmallows, and beach chairs to relax in after a full day of hiking, fly fishing, whale watching or walking around Comox/Courtenay/Campbell River. The location was centrally located to Mount Washington, whale watching out of Campbell River, hiking up to Ripple Rock, and other fantastic outdoor activities. Furthermore, Cathy made the rental transaction easy and painless. I strongly recommend that you stay at the Beachwood House and enjoy all that the Comox Valley offers."
