"We stayed here for a week in August. The cottage is exactly as pictured. It is huge, and the views are stunning of the ocean, offshore islands and mountains in the distance. We were very comfortable, and used the recently renovated kitchen and BBQ to eat most of our meals in.
We found it to be very clean and well maintained. The layout would be perfect for multiple couples or families with children and lots of room to spread out, both indoors and out.
The local grocery store in Nanoose is only about a 10 minute drive. The Marina restaurant has closed, but lots available in Parksville 10-15 minute drive away. We enjoyed exploring a number of the local parks, beaches and trails with our dog, and unwinding. There were some neat markets and galleries in the area as well. We would definitely come back, and have recommended it to friends. We felt for the size, view and quality it was very good value.
It is built on a slope as seen in the pictures, so there are a few stairs from the parking level down to the cottage, and then stairs down to the beach, so might be not suitable for all."

"This was an awesome house to have on the lake for the week! Especially for families, with the rec room full of toys upstairs to the beachfront that kids can wade in from, this was exactly what we were looking for. Great location on the sunny side of the lake too! Had all the stuff you need at a lake ( water toys, lots of towels, BBQ, huge patio) and an awesome dock to laze away the afternoons. Not to far from amenities either, if your running low on stuff. Can't wait to get back there next year!"

"Our family of four stayed in this condo for three nights. It was walking distance to almost every place we wanted to visit, and the parking was convenient for when we wanted to drive. It's a block or two from the Royal BC museum, a couple of blocks from the harbor, and a block from a large park. It was very comfortable for us, the views were lovely, the beds were cozy. Sharon, the concierge, was really helpful in pointing out restaurants, grocery shops, and good spots to visit. The kitchen is well equipped, though we didn't use it much with all the great restaurants nearby."

"The Boathouse is a place unto itself. It is a tranquil, peaceful and quaint. There is no other place where I would be willing to walk outside to get to the bathhouse. Oddly, here it just seems natural. The cottage and the bathhouse were squeaky clean. The chairs in the cottage's library were fantastically comfortable and when combined with the view of the bay made for the perfect place to linger over morning coffee. One of my fondest memories of The Boathouse will always be sipping wine while sitting in rocking chairs on the dock. I would caution those who want to experience this great place to pack lightly. The steps down to the cottage are many, but the thoughtful landings make it less of a problem. Harvey and Jean were wonderful hosts. Thank you, Harvey, for suggesting the Brentwood Pub, for dinner. We ended up eating there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it each night. Thank you, Jean, for telling Curt about Cathedral Grove on Highway #4. We stopped there on our way back to Nanaimo from Ucluelet and loved it. What a beautiful place! It was a peaceful and special place - just like The Boathouse."
