  • Sitting On The Sea Shore

"My wife and I just spent a wonderful month on the shores of the Salish Sea, across from Lasqueti Island in this immaculate well appointed house near Qualicum Beach. From early morning to last light there was always lots of action with the seals, sea lions, eagles, herons and seagulls . Whenever the wind picked up the kite and wind surfers showed up and provided entertainment for hours on end. The house was immaculate, 'well staged', very clean and completely comfortable. The kitchen, which also has a great ocean view, was well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes and even condiments to assist with preparation of meals."

  • Ticked all our boxes

"We thought this cute little apartment would be right for us when we booked it months ago and when we arrived and saw how well it ticked all our boxes, all our hopes were realized. First of all, it is safe and secure ... most important. Then we found how easy it is to get ... anywhere. A short walk to the Inner Barbour, to Chinatown and our fav tea shop, Murchies; a bit further to James Bay and Beacon Hill Park, and, if necessary, a hop and a step to the water taxi to just about anywhere else. Driving 'Up Island' is a dream as are all other road connections. And so close to really good restaurants and watering holes. We just love the micro-brewery, the Canoe - now, our fav. pub! Yes, God willing, we WILL be back."

  • PEACE ON EARTH!

"The Boathouse is a place unto itself. It is a tranquil, peaceful and quaint. There is no other place where I would be willing to walk outside to get to the bathhouse. Oddly, here it just seems natural. The cottage and the bathhouse were squeaky clean. The chairs in the cottage's library were fantastically comfortable and when combined with the view of the bay made for the perfect place to linger over morning coffee. One of my fondest memories of The Boathouse will always be sipping wine while sitting in rocking chairs on the dock. I would caution those who want to experience this great place to pack lightly. The steps down to the cottage are many, but the thoughtful landings make it less of a problem. Harvey and Jean were wonderful hosts. Thank you, Harvey, for suggesting the Brentwood Pub, for dinner. We ended up eating there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it each night. Thank you, Jean, for telling Curt about Cathedral Grove on Highway #4. We stopped there on our way back to Nanaimo from Ucluelet and loved it. What a beautiful place! It was a peaceful and special place - just like The Boathouse."

  • Great Find

"We were delighted with this cabin. It is beautifully finished inside and out (lovely peaceful deck area). The owners were very prompt to answer questions and help in any way they could. There are lots of great things to do in the area for families. I would certainly recommend it, and would stay there again."
