Splended location to celebrate my 70th year of life!
"I chose to take seven really close women friends to Selwyn House to celebrate my 70th birthday weekend. What a heavenly location to sit and view the wonder that is our supernatural Province of BC. The views from the deck are magical, as is the comfort of all the rooms and amenities. Everything is decorated and furnished to provide the ultimate vacation experience. We were all very impressed with this wonderful home, the gardens, the outside and inside seating and the well equipped kitchen which was used to whip up some really good meals. I recommend this house to anyone who really knows that vacations are for relaxation and for taking stock of what really matters in this life."

"We really enjoyed our one week stay - the home was spotless, very nicely furnished with a very spacious layout (perfect for 2 couples since it has 2 large bedrooms, each with their own ensuite). The view of the water from the front of the house is beautiful, and the flowers and shrubs surrounding the house/front patio area are lovely. Location wise, you can walk across the road and onto the path that goes right into Sidney town (nice not to have to take the car if you want to go out for a bite to eat). There is a quite a bit of traffic on Lochside drive but you get used to it (and the view more than makes up for it). The kitchen has everything you need and we liked being able to BBQ. We would definitely return to this home again."

"My wife and I with our two teenage daughters had a wonderful experience in Sidney staying at the Eaglesnest. The home was wonderful and situated just outside of Sidney directly on the bay with direct access to the beach. The view's from the home are breathtaking with the water front, Eagle's, seals, birds and Mount Baker in the distance. The marina is only 3 blocks away and has a fantastic restaurant (Seaglass) that is a must. Everything about the home was perfect. The home has two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, full kitchen, large washer/dryer, living room, sunroom and two balconies that face the ocean with one that leads directly to the ocean. The photos do not do justice to this location. You get more than what you see! Sidney has much to offer and is a small town with such charm. Best whale watching is Sidney Whale watching! Ask for Mike. We saw over 40 Orca whales with other wildlife!! Overall this home is fantastic and has direct access to the water, the town of Sidney, the marina, bus route if needed, beachcombing, shell hunting, wildlife viewing, relaxing, incredible views, kayak's in the back yard for use, whale watching and almost anything you need is here. Our family made lifetime memories in the week we spent at the Eaglesnest home."

"We were greeted with chocolates and wine in a spotlessly clean home. The home is beautifully appointed and decorated by someone who obviously has a sense of style, colour, arranging of furniture, pictures, spaces. It was an aesthetic pleasure every time we came "home" to our Deep Cove retreat. The kitchen was very well equipped -- far beyond what we experienced in other vacation rentals. We loved making espresso or lattes... While we didn't come with children, there were excellent books and toys there for them as well. And what easy way of entering from the attached garage and the conveniently located laundry room!
We loved walking in the area. It is only about 8 minutes by foot from a charming "market/coffee shop" and about 15 plus minutes walking to "Moses' point", a beautiful, secluded beach with Saltspring Island so close you think you can almost touch it. We enjoyed watching many kinds of sea birds in the water and a bald eagle overhead, as well as a sea lion swimming near us.
The Muse Winery is a few minutes away as well as the best high end restaurant in the Victoria area. There is also an organic orchard on Chalet Road.
And then, if you use your car, you are 7 minutes from either the ferry terminal or from the airport. You are about 15 or so minutes from Butchart Gardens which we visited at least once a week. You are 5 minutes from charming "Sidney-by-the-Sea" where you will find a range of lovely restaurants.
The place is "secluded" and yet so connected to everything you may want to see on the Peninsula or in Victoria.
While our hosts were themselves far away, through phone or email, we were able to have all of our questions answered right away and little house details dealt with."
