"This is an immaculately clean suite with a beautiful view from the top of the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy on the outside patio overlooking the garden, watching the birds and listening to water rushing from the top of a large basalt stone fountain near the patio where the birds came to drink. The king sized bed with a pillow top mattress was extremely comfortable. Doug and Signy were great telling us what we needed to know about using the hot tub and appliances. The home is a short drive from Sooke so it was convenient when we needed to get groceries. We were able to take our small non-shedding dog with us for the week and she enjoyed the frequent walks and car rides. There were many deer in the area, which was interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"My family and I traveled to Sooke this month as we are looking at moving there. We decided to stay at Surfside Cottage so we could all stay together (my husband, 3yr old daughter and my parents). The cottage was perfect for us. It became a home away from home as we really looked forward to returning in the evenings. Even going so far as being glad when dinner plans fell through so we could stay at the cottage by the fire and just relax. We used all three rooms and while we weren't sure what to expect with the "teen room" it worked for us as my parents stayed in that room. It's a small room in the lower level of the house with an outside door and it's own small bathroom. The beds are a little smaller than a normal twin but my father, who is 5'10" fit just fine. The 2 rooms upstairs are large and have plenty of room for luggage. Everything was provided as well as far as kitchen gadgets and dishes. All the beds in the house are extremely comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. It is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the house down a path and it's so worth it.
This was all about the view though. We even saw a whale making his way by on our last day. He was so close we could have thrown a rock and hit him. Standing at the living room windows with the fire crackling, watching the whale slowly swim by was something we'll remember forever! Although an orca or 2 would have been even better! :)
It was relaxing, quiet and peaceful and we appreciated it very much. We will be back once our house sells so we can go house hunting yet again!
Thank you Ines!"

"What a wonderful place to stay. This cozy home nestled among trees with gorgeous ocean views is a tranquil retreat from the every day hustle and bustle. There is not a bad view any where in this house. From morning coffee with the otters down on the dock to afternoon visits from the seals, fresh crab dinners caught off the dock and evenings watching the sun set from the hot tub. Make for an enjoyable get away.
This well appointed home has all the amenities and a full kitchen made for easy living with a great cottage feel. Kingfisher Manor makes you forget about sight seeing and leaving the property. Close enough to Victoria to do excursions but far enough away make you forget about the rest of the world. We can’t say enough about how helpful Tim and Sue were. Any information we needed prior to our stay or during they were just a phone call away.
We will definitely be coming back to stay here again. Maybe next time we will actually leave the property long enought to go explore this side of East Sooke Park. Many thanks S&K."
