"Jane's little beach house was perfect. When we checked in, we walked outside and seals were swimming by. It is mellow and quiet and blissful. We have never slept so well. There isn't a lot right around it (which was perfect) so we loaded up on wine and cheese at the market in Sooke. We highly recommend doing that and sitting outside on the wonderful porch overlooking the water. If you're looking for the perfect escape, and an easy trip from Victoria, this is it!"

  • Beautiful Property

"I met my friends from Minnesota for our 20th Annual Girls Weekend (ok, longer than a weekend)! We had a great time. The property was truly beautiful. It was so fun watching the sunsets and seeing the tide come in and go back out. It was amazing that it looked so different each day. The accomodations were wonderful. Everything was so clean and Chad was wonderful to work with. It was a great time, despite it being a little cooler than normal. Made the hot tub so much more fun."

  • Sandi and laurier

"What an amazing week we spent at the Lighthouse Point retreat celebrating our 40th anniversary. Words just seem inadequate to express the peacefulness, solitude, and pure sense of tranquility that we experienced all week long. Every window had stunning views of either the ocean or the rain forest. No need for TV as the property manager Dawn (who is wonderful) summed it up.. you have the nature channel on 24/7. We saw sea otters, seals, hummingbirds, stellar jays, and had an eagle visit for a couple of days in a nearby tree. We took our chairs close to the ocean front.. my husband fishing off the rocks and myself, gazing at wind formations on the surface of the water, or the large ships in the distance or just listening to the waves crash on the rocks below. Food for the soul. We had our coffees and applies on the patio and ate all our meals ( except one) with an ocean view table!! Doesn't get any better. The cottage was very elegantly decorated and equipped with everything.. a coffee press which we love, washer and dryer, lovely dishes, impeccably clean bedding and linens and even a first aid kit. They have thought of everything!! This area around Sooke is beyond beautiful and we visited rain forests and amazing beaches that can take your breath away. This sweet cottage was the perfect place for us to celebrate our anniversary.. an oasis in the busyness of life. We left not wanting to leave and are hoping that we one day we can come again. Thank you Eleana."

  • Vacation "gem" in Sooke area

"Our family rented this "gem" beach house direct through owner Susan Scott from 10-20 July 2014. This location cannot be beat for sunsets (use west-side patio), full moon rise (viewed from around fire pit), morning sun with coffee (use east-side patio), outside eating (with propane BBQ and roll-out awning for shade if needed), happenstance wildlife viewing (bald eagles, loons, otters, herons etc - bring your binocs), strolls and beachcombing (step through the gate and the lagoon's your oyster - we brought our own kayaks). We visited the Galloping Goose, Sooke potholes, Whiffen Spit and Botanical Beach (at Port Renfrew) and made lasting memories all over. A relaxing, yet energizing vacation. The house has all the services you'd expect (as stated in the listing), all appliances worked fine (our beer and wine was cold quickly, the dishes came out clean as did our laundry, and we fresh-baked blueberry pie, choc-chip cookies, pizza and salmon dinner to perfection). Everything was neat and clean on arrival with sufficient spare linen, towels, cutlery, crockery & glassware. Bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge/dining/kitchen areas comfortably accommodated mom, dad, two adult daughters, a granny and one overnight visitor. We appreciated the understated, user-friendly décor (wood, tile, blue & skylights) and the easy-living ambience of the Beach House. We will be back !"
