PEACE ON EARTH!
"The Boathouse is a place unto itself. It is a tranquil, peaceful and quaint. There is no other place where I would be willing to walk outside to get to the bathhouse. Oddly, here it just seems natural. The cottage and the bathhouse were squeaky clean. The chairs in the cottage's library were fantastically comfortable and when combined with the view of the bay made for the perfect place to linger over morning coffee. One of my fondest memories of The Boathouse will always be sipping wine while sitting in rocking chairs on the dock. I would caution those who want to experience this great place to pack lightly. The steps down to the cottage are many, but the thoughtful landings make it less of a problem. Harvey and Jean were wonderful hosts. Thank you, Harvey, for suggesting the Brentwood Pub, for dinner. We ended up eating there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it each night. Thank you, Jean, for telling Curt about Cathedral Grove on Highway #4. We stopped there on our way back to Nanaimo from Ucluelet and loved it. What a beautiful place! It was a peaceful and special place - just like The Boathouse."

"This condo's location could not be better for visiting downtown Victoria: it's right across from Chinatown, and just a few minutes' walk to the Empress Hotel (their buffet lunch is superb! Served in the Bengal Room, once frequented by Rudyard Kipling), the Royal Museum and IMAX, the Legislative Buildings and so on. The condo's condition was immaculate - wish our own home could be as clean! There's a useful desk area and there's WiFi. Underground parking was much appreciated as street parking can be hard to find. Maureen, the owner, met us at the entrance when we arrived and showed us around the condo. She was a super host! If you want a clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay while visiting Victoria, this is it!"

"If staying more than three days it's great and would do it again. Needs a new bed for comfort. The area was good for walking for coffee, a shopping centre, and our family. The hosts were very friendly and the goodies were appreciated as we arrived late and had no time to get groceries. Thanks ."

"Firstly, we enjoyed our stay (our 6th different location in Victoria in the past 7 years). The location is great and much about the apartment is first-rate. The linen, towels, appliances, and furniture (save for an overly firm master bed mattress) were of excellent quality and much appreciated.
But there are some items which the owner might want to consider - more cutlery and dishes (we had 4 table knives and not enough dishes/glasses for all 3 daily meals). The remote (required) for the radio had no battery, which we purchased, along with metal tongs and a flipper for the BBQ (the plastic ones would not last long over a fire) plus juice glasses. And the largely empty walls begged out for a bit more artwork.
Any place we have previously stayed in, has a booklet with info about the apartment (wifi password, rules and collection days for garbage and recycling), location of stores/banks/pharmacies, and maps/brochures about local sites. The owner initially verbally gave us the wifi password for the suite below us and coverage was limited until we discovered his error.
Three of the windows on the street side rattle badly with wind or traffic, so much so that we had to stuff cardboard around their edges the first windy night.
Finally, the apartment is located adjacent to one of the busiest roads in James Bay, with many trucks and service vehicles gearing up/down as they approach the short hill nearby - the noise can be quite deafening during work hours.
So, I find it hard to offer 5 stars for this apartment - it is nice, but could stand some attention to details."
