Great spot - centrally located in Victoria
"Our host met us when we arrived at the property in Victoria and showed us the lovely apartment overlooking a busy main street in Victoria. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the spacious apartment with the exposed brick walls and bustling street below. Very nice urban feel to the place. The apartment was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The one piece of false advertising here is the "gourmet" kitchen. Not true. It was definitely a full kitchen with all the appliances - but it did not even have a coffee grinder or a garlic press. It was fine and met our needs - but it was far from a gourmet kitchen. Also the only place to eat in is at the kitchen counter - which again is fine for a quick bite - but not a lovely gourmet meal.
Besides the bit of what we considered false advertising - the place was great and the host was really nice and accommodating.
The location was great and easy to get where we wanted to go all around Victoria by foot or bus. We had a couple great meals at the little Mediterranean restaurant called Mint near by and took a 1-hr city bus ride (bus stop was a few blocks away) to Buchart Gardens - which was a really wonderful trip! Oh and the Victoria Public Market at the Hudson had really great food to go - the rotisserie chicken was great and the fish and chips were really very good too!"

"My adult son and I spent 5 nights here in March 2015. The home is beautifully modern and well-kept, superbly clean and comfortable. We could not have been happier, with high quality bedding and towels, a lovely gas fireplace to use in the cool evenings and a well-stocked kitchen. Picture windows in the living room look into their gorgeous small garden and at the surrounding trees and residential neighborhood. Best of all, we were able to walk 15 minutes to all major tourist attractions and restaurants, a grocery store, and bus lines. We would love to return some day."

"We love to walk, and we wanted to see downtown Victoria, and we found this Townhome to be the perfect place to stay. Just one block from China town, we cut through every time we went for a walk. There was always something interesting going on there. My wife and I are vegan, and Victoria is the most vegan friendly city we have ever visited. Be Love and Rebar were two of the best restaurants that we have found. And don't leave without taking a whale tour. After cruising with a pod of killer whales, I will never be the same.
The Waterfront Loft was as nice as the pictures. I enjoy cooking, and found the kitchen to be fully stocked with the appropriate cookware for making some nice meals at home. After a trip to the farmers market, we found everything we needed to prepare the food. Frances was very helpful when we arrived and made up feel very welcome. We had a rental car, and it was parked close to the door and very convenient. A two block drive and you are on the main road to the airport. The loft could not have been in a better location.
We are already discussing dates for a return to Victoria. It is a beautiful city."

"One of the special features of this home is its location - you drive up and around a mountain on a winding road that eventually runs along the ocean, about 15 minutes from Brentwood Bay. Keep an eye out for deer, bikers, other cars, and--unfortunately--police radar traps. The house is on the water below the road, accessed by a steep driveway (as are most houses along Mark Lane), and near some beautiful hiking trails along the ocean.
The first thing you'll notice upon entering the house is its bright and cheerful quality, with large windows looking out on the water on all 3 levels. The downstairs includes the kitchen and living area facing west and with a high ceiling that keeps the house bright even on darker days. The furniture is clean and comfortable throughout, and the house is wonderfully stocked with everything you need for either a short or longer stay. We particularly liked the tasteful and understated elegance of the decorating scheme, which adds to the overall cheerful quality. We would prefer a king-size bed to the master bedroom and a larger flat-screen TV in the living room with HD instead of SD reception.
Overall, the house has a vibe that says the owners really care about the place and want their guests to have a pleasant stay without complications. It is about 20 minutes from shopping and restaurants, about 30 from Victoria to the south and Sydney to the north. Victoria is a stunningly beautiful place to visit, easy to get around, lush and green and flowering almost everywhere and the ocean all around you. Check out Victoria's amazing bakeries and seafood restaurants as you explore the city and the peninsula. We rent ocean-side properties quite frequently, and it's without reservation that we can recommend "The Cottage" as one of the best homes and locations we've ever discovered. Three cheers to the owners for the care and consideration in offering their home to us!"
