A very nice stay
"We had a very nice stay at the condo. We're a couple with two young adult children and there was lots of room for us. The place is very well stocked and the linens are great. The location is wonderful with lots of things to do within walking distance.
A few things could be improved: the walls are quite scuffed-looking and could use new paint. We had no information from the owner about how to get keys or access parking, etc. This made us quite anxious in the few days leading up to our stay (it worked out great in the end, but it would have been better to know what the procedure was ahead of time.) The guest manual really needs updating! Some information is outdated, and there needs to be better explanations for how to work things."

"My husband and I have been coming to Jim and Judy's spectacular waterfront home for 6 weeks every spring, for 5 years now. We have enjoyed it's wonderful location for water sports (kayaking and fishing), golfing at nearby courses, biking the fabulous trails found on the peninsula and general enjoyment of the scenery and wildlife viewing. The home is so well appointed that we felt instantly at home. We have no reservations about giving this property our highest recommendations."

"The Boathouse is a place unto itself. It is a tranquil, peaceful and quaint. There is no other place where I would be willing to walk outside to get to the bathhouse. Oddly, here it just seems natural. The cottage and the bathhouse were squeaky clean. The chairs in the cottage's library were fantastically comfortable and when combined with the view of the bay made for the perfect place to linger over morning coffee. One of my fondest memories of The Boathouse will always be sipping wine while sitting in rocking chairs on the dock. I would caution those who want to experience this great place to pack lightly. The steps down to the cottage are many, but the thoughtful landings make it less of a problem. Harvey and Jean were wonderful hosts. Thank you, Harvey, for suggesting the Brentwood Pub, for dinner. We ended up eating there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it each night. Thank you, Jean, for telling Curt about Cathedral Grove on Highway #4. We stopped there on our way back to Nanaimo from Ucluelet and loved it. What a beautiful place! It was a peaceful and special place - just like The Boathouse."
