  • Incredible location, superb condo

"This is, without a doubt, one of the choicest condos in Victoria. Not only is the view spectacular, but our hosts provided everything that is needed for a comfortable stay, from PVRs to laundry detergent, to extra bedding. The condo was spotless, the furniture and appliances modern and well maintained, and our host was but a phone call away if we needed anything extra. Despite being located in the middle of the city, this condo is vey quiet. Even sitting out on the wrap around balcony, we were able to carry on a conversation without being disrupted by city traffic. Coffee shops, restaurants and a movie theatre are right outside the building's main doors. The famous Victoria Harbour is just a couple of blocks away. It just doesn't get any better than this."

  • Every bit as good as it looks

"In recent years we have been fairly regular visitors to Victoria and have always found excellent accomodation. However, this house was probably the best we have had. Beautifully situated close to the inner harbour and all of the local attractions, the house was quiet, spacious and beautifully equiped. The fact that it was right next door to an excellent restaurant (no noise though!) came as a big boinus. Mark is an excellent host - very laid back, friendly and helpful. We had a minor problem with access when we arrived, called him and he was with us in about five minutes to sort things out. All in all a great place to stay."

  • Safe neighbourhood and close to everything

"This cute and compact cottage is all you need for your stay in Victoria. It is well equipped and it truly is your home away from home. My husband has food allergies so having access to a kitchen was so convenient to enjoy stay-in dinners. Having a washer and dryer is a plus so you spend more time sight-seeing and less time at a coin laundromat. Even on a rainy day, the view of the garden lifted our moods. The owners certainly gave us our privacy, but were always available when we needed them via e-mail or a quick call. The location is excellent; all points of interest are a short distance, but do keep in mind we had rented a car. Courteous owners. I would stay here again. Thank you; you've put a lot of thought into this place."

  • PEACE ON EARTH!

"The Boathouse is a place unto itself. It is a tranquil, peaceful and quaint. There is no other place where I would be willing to walk outside to get to the bathhouse. Oddly, here it just seems natural. The cottage and the bathhouse were squeaky clean. The chairs in the cottage's library were fantastically comfortable and when combined with the view of the bay made for the perfect place to linger over morning coffee. One of my fondest memories of The Boathouse will always be sipping wine while sitting in rocking chairs on the dock. I would caution those who want to experience this great place to pack lightly. The steps down to the cottage are many, but the thoughtful landings make it less of a problem. Harvey and Jean were wonderful hosts. Thank you, Harvey, for suggesting the Brentwood Pub, for dinner. We ended up eating there three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it each night. Thank you, Jean, for telling Curt about Cathedral Grove on Highway #4. We stopped there on our way back to Nanaimo from Ucluelet and loved it. What a beautiful place! It was a peaceful and special place - just like The Boathouse."
