  • Lovely Victoria

"We have spent a very pleasant month in the Mermaid Suite. It is so well located for walking to all the downtown areas, only about 10 minutes to Goverment Street and all its attractions. There are many restaurants and Pubs almost around the corner, and we had great meals wherever we went. The Swans Pub's chowder is among the best we have encountered. Francis, the concierge for this unit, was most helpful and picked us up and delivered us to the airport on time and in good humour, inspite of the 4:30 am departure time. Colleen's recommendations for sight seeing and meals were really helpful. Some of the appliances could use a little upgrading. Namely the oven with its unpredictable flashing light and the vacuum cleaner which needs an overhaul. Otherwise this unit was very clean and comfortable. This was a great escape form the eastern winter."

  • An enjoyable one month stay in the heart of Victoria.

"Fabulous help from Liz in making the arrangements. She answered all of our questions promptly regarding the location, amenities of the suite and the availability of services in the vicinity of the Juliet. Lawrence McDonald was our Concierge and met us upon our arrival. He was very personable, and very helpful during our stay. The central location of the Juliet to markets, restaurants. pubs, fitness club, major bus stops and shopping was excellent. Walks to the inner harbor (Empress) were less than 15 minutes. Being located at the intersection of 2 busy streets however resulted in early morning noise from garbage trucks (dumpsters) and many sirens during the night. You learn to tune out some of it after awhile. The suite itself was located on the 8th floor. It was clean and comfortable, but is due for a painting sometime in the near future. Nice view of the downtown area and hills in the distance. Elevator service was a small issue in the first week, but after repairs had been made, it was excellent. Overall, a memorable stay (despite cool weather). We would stay at the Juliet again and our rating is 4 1/2 stars."

  • " Dream Home away from Home "

"I'm so thankful that I was able to find this dream of mine for our trip to Victoria. My boyfriend and I came out to BC for the weekend, so we needed something quick and affordable. I can honestly say without a doubt that we got to stay in our dream home at our dream location. A beach 2 minute walk from the door, a local WONDERFUL grocer and PUB 10-15 minute walk up the beach, AMAZING views and central to almost everything. It's about 30 minutes from the airport, but we took the longer way through the Mount Douglas parkway. This location was a surprise for my boyfriend and it was absolutely breath taking. We are simple people, who don't need a lot and we had EVERYTHING we needed to enjoy the weekend. There is a TV with channels and DVD's but we didn't even use it. There is so much to do! Downtown Victoria isn't far, the beach is right there, golf up the road, and hiking all over. The views are spectacular! If it wasn't a mountain, ocean, deer or bikers you had the smell of the ocean and cooling winds to entertain you. We also had about 5 family members over for breakfast, we had everything we needed to cook the food, and a place for everyone to sit. For a small little cottage it packs enourmous charm and whizmical features. If you are wanting to do A LOT of sightseeing I do recommend a rental car, if you want to find a place to just sit in quiet and have all the necessities right by you can do without one ( just keep in mind distance from airport ). The owners were fantastic, and care more about providing a wonderful, easygoing visit to their guests then they care about overcharging. They take PRIDE in what they do, and they do it very well. I am and will forever be grateful for this trip, and to meet this wonderful couple who are grateful for all the have and the ppl they get to meet. I smile as I write this because I know I will be back, and I know EXACTLY where I will be staying! Wake up to the ocean, and go to bed with the ocean -- who could ask for more?"

  • Hot tub heaven

"We had a lovely 2 night stay in Jane's duplex apartment. Jane was a welcoming and friendly host who's apartment is spacious and comfortable. It is situated just a 15-20 drive from downtown Victoria in a tranquil spot overlooking an inlet. It was a fantastic place to recharge our batteries after a long day traveling and busy day sightseeing. We especially appreciated the hot tub which really did relax our weary bones. We would recommend staying here to anyone wishing home comforts and a touch of luxury."
