  • perfect condo with everything you could wish for!

"The studio is spacious, clean and perfectly located. Every night after a long day of kayaking or hiking or beach combing we sat on our balcony and watched the boats to by and the seaplanes come and go and the eagles play while enjoying a beautifult sunset. And the jacuzzi for two was perfect for soaking our tired muscles. The apartment is within two minutes of the grocery store and all the restaurants . I recommend the Ice House, which sits at the end of the pier in front of the complex. The crab bake for two is the best I've ever had, as is the calamari. Jill (owner) arranged secure kayak storage for us in the building -perfect since the kayak launch is at the foot of the pier in front of the comp!ex."

  • Another glowing review

"We were immediately impressed when we walked through the door. This sprawling bungalow was the perfect place to call home for a week while we visited the coast of Vancouver Island. We (a family of four) slept comfortably in the immaculately kept rooms, and had enough space to get away from each other when we needed to! Kids were well accommodated with toys and games. We were able to cook all evening meals at the house, thanks to a kitchen that is well stocked with equipment and essentials. We enjoyed the yard as well, which offered a quiet getaway after busy days exploring. I will happily return to this lovely property!"

  • I'm always suspicious when a review is too good. It could be written by the owner or agent.

"But I am not the owner or agent - just an over 60 year old woman with three kids and five grandkids three generations all had the wonderful experience of staying in the Lake House. It's a charming place that is full of character and interesting details. Everything you need is there - from games, to water toys, videos and DVD's, to recliners for those of us that like to nap, comfortable beds, very clean - and all the cooking utensils you could want. As I love to cook and my son is a chef, that is saying a great deal. Lots of nooks and crannies on the properties with chairs to sit and look at the view. A wonderful deck overlooking the lake and a tremendous beach with a dock and a diving board. The water is warm and the beach is sandy. Easy to get to from Port Alberni. So many things to do at the cabin that we rushed our visits to town so we could get back (I was going to say "home again" because it feels like home and corrected myself). Our eclectic family spent four nights there and as soon as we got home, we booked a week next summer. One part of me wants to share this wonderful place with others - hence the review. The other part of me wants to keep it secret so we will always be able to book it. I guess I am taking the high road. Cathy B"

  • Waterfront cottage Nanoose Bay

"We stayed here for a week in August. The cottage is exactly as pictured. It is huge, and the views are stunning of the ocean, offshore islands and mountains in the distance. We were very comfortable, and used the recently renovated kitchen and BBQ to eat most of our meals in. We found it to be very clean and well maintained. The layout would be perfect for multiple couples or families with children and lots of room to spread out, both indoors and out. The local grocery store in Nanoose is only about a 10 minute drive. The Marina restaurant has closed, but lots available in Parksville 10-15 minute drive away. We enjoyed exploring a number of the local parks, beaches and trails with our dog, and unwinding. There were some neat markets and galleries in the area as well. We would definitely come back, and have recommended it to friends. We felt for the size, view and quality it was very good value. It is built on a slope as seen in the pictures, so there are a few stairs from the parking level down to the cottage, and then stairs down to the beach, so might be not suitable for all."
