  • Peaceful Paradise

"We spent an incredible week at Luna Vista's one-bedroom cabin. The cabin itself is cozy and well-appointed, but the real beauty of this place is the porch/deck. The east-facing view from the deck looks out over water, Rebecca spit, more water, and then layer upon layer of mountain range, stretching into mist. We looked at that view in the morning, sitting and sipping coffee. We looked at that view in the afternoon, opening a bottle of wine. And we looked at that view in the evening, from the incredible two-person soaker tub. We were fortunate to have fine weather all week, but even in poor weather, Luna Vista would be an alluring destination. Gretchen and Doug were very friendly, giving us a nice greeting and then giving us plenty of privacy thereafter. As a base camp for exploring the beaches and trails of Quadra Island, Luna Vista is fantastic. We had a terrific experience here and would recommend this spot without reservation."

  • Paradise

"This was our second time visiting Shady Akres and Noni B and it was awesome. From the moment we stepped foot on this property we felt like we were a million miles away from reality. Noni offers a fully equipped kitchen and many little extras that you would never find anywhere else. Our group had a fabulous time swimming in the lake, cooking in the kitchen and hanging around the campfire. We absolutely love Noni and will be making this an annual trip! Thanks again for all of your hospitality Noni, we have amazing memories and look forward to making many more!!"

  • Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, on Vancouver Island

"We like to hike, so stayed here in the non winter time. It was perfect! We hiked and explored all day and came home to everything we needed. The townhome was roomy, clean, well maintained. The owner very responsive to any questions. We hiked up Mt Washington and got to ride down on the chair lift! The views from the top are gorgeous. Forbidden Plateau was a lovely hike, a 5 minute walk away from the townhome. We loved the Black in Pub in Comax. We took day trips to Campbell River, Gold River, Parksville, each having charm of their own. Miracle Beach is a must see too. We stayed a week, cannot beat that weekly rate either! Highly recommend!"

  • I'm always suspicious when a review is too good. It could be written by the owner or agent.

"But I am not the owner or agent - just an over 60 year old woman with three kids and five grandkids three generations all had the wonderful experience of staying in the Lake House. It's a charming place that is full of character and interesting details. Everything you need is there - from games, to water toys, videos and DVD's, to recliners for those of us that like to nap, comfortable beds, very clean - and all the cooking utensils you could want. As I love to cook and my son is a chef, that is saying a great deal. Lots of nooks and crannies on the properties with chairs to sit and look at the view. A wonderful deck overlooking the lake and a tremendous beach with a dock and a diving board. The water is warm and the beach is sandy. Easy to get to from Port Alberni. So many things to do at the cabin that we rushed our visits to town so we could get back (I was going to say "home again" because it feels like home and corrected myself). Our eclectic family spent four nights there and as soon as we got home, we booked a week next summer. One part of me wants to share this wonderful place with others - hence the review. The other part of me wants to keep it secret so we will always be able to book it. I guess I am taking the high road. Cathy B"
