  • Excellent choice for family reunion

"Our party of 9 adults and 2 kids just came back from a FANTASTIC one-week holiday at Bris Retreat where the three generations were able to visit in the convenience of one home, yet also had the space for privacy and relaxation. Every day during our stay we snacked on freshly-picked cherries straight from the garden, where the children enjoyed learning about and identifying the various fruit trees and bushes. We stayed active by cycling along the nearby KVR bike trail that took us all the way to Penticton, as well as swimming at the many beaches in the area (Bonus: Three Mile Beach, the closest one to this property, is clothing-optional). The interior of the house was very clean and there were more than sufficient linens and towels. Food preparation was made easy by the ample, well-stocked kitchen and the covered furnished patio provided for enjoyable al fresco dining without being crowded. The welcoming gift was such a nice touch too! Expect nothing less than stellar service from Traudy and Jordan, the property managers. They were professional, prompt, helpful and friendly all the way. From my initial inquiry to the minute we left the house, the communication was easy and efficient. They even sent over a friendly neighbour to assist with one of our bikes. I am confident that future occupants will be well-taken care of by these capable and genuinely kind people. One note: Do make sure that you put the mattress back into the pull-out couch if you choose to use it on the carpet. We did, as we found it too soft for our backs if left in the couch. Though apparently the housekeepers work with a tight schedule so help them out please! Thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home. We really hope to be back again!"

  • Magical Getaway

"We had a wonderful time at the beautiful and thoughtfully furnished High Chapparal guest house. From the patio, there is a magnificent view of the dry ponderosa mountains, and not a house in sight. I was enchanted by the sight of flocks of geese heading south, a bird of prey diving so swiftly it whistled as it went by, and a coyote running lightly through the woods. The wireless worked perfectly, and I was able to put in several hours of work, sitting on the patio with a glass of wine. In the afternoon, we drove down into the valley to visit a few wineries, and there are many delicious ones nearby. On the way, we stopped at Covert Farms to purchase organic vegetables for our supper. At night, we slept very well in the warm and comfortable bed, with nothing but the wind and the crickets to disturb our rest. Our weekend was very restful - a perfect break from our busy lives at home."

  • Great For Family With Young Kids

"We spent two enjoyable weeks in the South Okanagan Beach Bungalow. The beach was perfect for our 8 and 6 year old. Sand for sandcastles galore and shallow enough that the kids could walk out forever and still only be up to their waist. We rented kids kayaks on the beach for a very reasonable $5 per hour. The bungalow was close enough to the beach that we had no problem loading up the inflatable boat with towels, chairs, cooler and sand toys and walking the 5 minutes. The spray park was fun and the playground excellent. Penticton was a quick 15 minute drive down Eastside Road for mini golf on the cloudy days. Of course a little adult time at the many wineries was also enjoyed. There is no TV service but the WiFi was excellent. We made use of it on our two rainy days to watch some Netflix. Otherwise we were pleased to be off the grid. The bungalow is modest but suited us well as we don't need granite counters and stainless steel on vacation. It is well maintained but definitely 1950's era. It was large enough for our family of four and grandma and grandpa without feeling crowded. The large backyard provided additional play space for frisbee or football tossing. Diana was fantastic at answering all questions and making us feel comfortable in our selection. Definitely consider this well priced option for your vacation."
