  • August stay for Challenge Penticton 2014

"We were in for the race and stayed the week after for a relaxing family vacation. The night of the race we were able to sit out and cheer the last racers on. There was a real community feeling in that area. We had two families with 2 kids each. The kids spent the whole week on the dock, swimming, paddle boarding and floating around. The house was big, bright and modern. We ate a lot of meals there because it was so lovely with the BBQ on the upper deck and a big kitchen. The wineries were all close too. My sister and I loved sitting out with a glass of wine in the evening on the lower lounge area. Some of us swam and others rode bikes over to Skaha beach a few times. There was a playground, water park and basketball courts. We even rented a power boat at the marina and the kids tried wake boarding and tubing. We would recommend Ernie's place for a great family summer vacation"

  • A True Okanagan Gem

"My husband and I have stayed here twice now - last year and this year. It's an oasis of calm in a truly beautiful setting. Every detail has been thought of in this one-of-a-kind suite. From beautiful furnishings to bespoke shower gels, this suite truly delivers. It's cool (excellent for those hot Okanagan days), private, quiet, has a well-equipped kitchen, an awesome gas BBQ and an amazing deck with even better views. We enjoyed the sunset while sipping on some fantastic local wine. No time for wine touring? No problem - the suite has a selection of local bottles for purchase. The location is brilliant too. It's a quick 10 mins max drive to Penticton and is right in the heart of the Naramata Bench should you wish to visit some wineries on foot. We had our fancy road/tri bikes with us and owners, Pauline and Mark were great in providing secure storage for them. The word is out on this place so don't wait to book if you are deliberating! You won't be disappointed. We would return in a heartbeat."

  • Fantastic Spot

"My daughter and I used the Yellow House as a base of operations for a week's mountain biking in the Okanagan. Some friends joined us for 3 nights. This is an excellent place to stay. The house is large and well cared for. Nicely equipped (and large) kitchen made cooking meals easy - and I particularly enjoy it when staples such as spices, salt and pepper and sauces have been allowed to accumulate so you're not running off to the grocery for all the little things you've forgotten. There's even a large BBQ on the deck, and they made sure to supply extra propane. The bedrooms are nice, and there's lots of linens as well as towels etc for the bathrooms, as well as soap for the washer and dryer. In the kitchen they supply ample coffee filters, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent etc. - again, no need to be running to the store. The double garage has lots of space for vehicles or storage of equipment like bikes. Particularly pleasant was the covered back deck (off the dining room). On the couple of mornings with some rain, it was nice to sit outside under cover with morning coffee, and it was always a pleasant place to sit during the day to watch the various types of birds congregate, and to listen to the crickets at night. The back yard is a graveled desert landscaping which made cleaning up after the dogs very easy. The house is a little bit south of Penticton on Skaha Lake, so its a very short drive to get to shopping, downtown and the highway. A very pleasant surprise was the Skaha Bluffs Park just to the south. This is a climbing area, but was also a lovely spot to give the dogs their walks. I look forward to getting back to explore the bike trails some more."
