  • Beautiful house, owner should attend to details

"We shared Moosehead Lodge with two other families over the Presidents Day weekend high season. It was very, very expensive, but this is the way to do it: split among 2-3 families to make it more affordable. The house is beautiful, with plenty of room for people to stretch out. It was perfect to have kids hang out on the bottom floor, where's a pool table, hot tub, large screen TV, and video games. Adults hang out in the large living room, kitchen, dining area. We had a great time, and the skiing was fantastic. Now, the negatives. The owners could easily make guests much more comfortable if they would attend to a few details. First, the house phones were not working. Our group ended up paying about $100 in international cell phone charges (we're from the U.S.) to communicate with several other groups of friends who were also at Sun Peaks. When we asked about the phones, all we got was a reply that said, it's an internet-based phone; it should work. Well, it didn't!! Also, the lighting is dim all over. It's especially crucial in the kitchen and in the bathrooms. Second, they provided almost NO TOILETRIES! That just seems cheap. It's easy to have small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotions. We assumed it would be provided, as all the other houses we've rented at Sun Peaks had them. Instead, we needed to buy that. Also, there wasn't enough toilet paper, if you can believe that. We had to take toilet paper from one bathroom to share with the other bathrooms. Not cool! Finally, the driveway is steep, and when covered with snow an ice, it's a REAL HAZARD. Two people in our party slipped and fell. One broke a bone! If you're going to spend millions to build a luxury home, why not have heat the driveway? Or at the least, pay for a plowing service to come each morning after it snows. The owners should realize that the driveway is a real liability. Some day, some guest will bring a lawsuit after getting injured. Words of advice: iron out all those details with the owners prior to renting. Insist on toiletries, enough toilet paper, and a working phone. Try to get them to put in brighter light bulbs. And very importantly, ask them to hire a plow or snowblower service for the hazardous driveway. If you do all that, you will have a wonderful time!"

  • Awesome Family Vacation

"Hi John, Thanks for renting us your condo. We had an awesome time. A great family vacation. The weather was fantastic. The ski in, ski out couldn't have been better. The Morrisey chair was not too busy as opposed to the village chairs. No long lineups. The condo was fully equipped and we didn't want for anything. In fact we had all our meals in the condo which was a great savings as to dining out with three teenage boys. Your condo was very clean and comfortable and relaxing in the private hot tub was great. I also liked your condo since it was a corner unit so you had more mountain views. Would definitely book again and recommend this place. Thanks again, Anne"

  • Great location

"Just a described. Beautiful townhouse with lots of space for the family. 3 adults and 3 teenagers. The views are gorgeous of the surrounding mountains. A short walk to the village and to the ski hills. The owner was very helpful and always quick to respond to emails."

  • Sun Peaks

"We stayed at the condo in early February 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it! The condo itself is beautiful - the owners have ensured it has a very warm and welcoming decor and the kitchen is fully equipped just like your kitchen at home! Loved the heated floors in the kitchen and bathrooms especially after a day out in the snow. The hot tub on the deck was a great luxury! In the winter there's nothing better than an outdoor hot tub when it's -15 and windy. The location was perfect - ski in access and just a few minutes walk into the main village to go for dinner or do some shopping. Thanks Dave and Lisa! We will definitely come again!"

Sun Peaks Resorts Are Ideal for Water Tours

Schedule a canoe tour with the North West Voyageur Company for a unique trip around the lakes surrounding your Sun Peaks rentals. Along the way, you’ll stop for a visit to the John Tod Fur Trading Museum, where several beaver pelts and other exhibits occupy your time away from Sun Peaks resorts. This trip lasts most of the day, and if you include it in your Okanagan Valley travel plans, you’ll likely spot some of the resident moose, bear or even cougar.

Take an Eco Tour during Your Okanagan Valley Travel

If you’re a nature- or animal-lover at heart, plan on venturing out from your Sun Peaks rentals to take one of the Bear Tracks "Eco Tours" through the mountainous terrain where the resident black bears live. A guide will teach your group about the bears’ habitat, survival, behavior and even what to do if you ever come into contact with one in the wild. Along the way, you’ll stop for refreshments and the opportunity to experience bear displays. Sun Peaks resorts' patrons find this to be an informative and family-friendly activity to include in any Okanagan Valley travel plans.
