  • Comfortable and cozy get away!

"Our 12 day stay is still such a wonderful memory for all five of us! The owners are warm, friendly people who made us very welcome. The neighbourhood is quiet and hilly with mountain views. Great for walks! The property itself had a lovely pool and patio area with a BBQ and seating area we used almost daily. The kitchen was set up with everything you could possibly need and there was plenty of room for all of us. On site laundry was very convenient as well. We highly recommend a stay at the Swiss Paradise."

  • Waterfront hideaway

"This waterfront Cabin has everything you need including the warm hospitality of the owners. The lovely grass sitting area with the fire pit on the water is magical. No matter where you sat you had a picture window view of the water. Wood is always available for an indoor fire. The compost toilet is state of the art and no fuss for the visitor as the owners do the care. We plan on returning to this little bit of heaven."

  • Great location and fantastic views

"I must admit I was a little concerned when we booked this property, since the reviews were pretty old, but we booked any way, and were pretty happy with our stay. While not the quickest responses, and a few queries over rate, as owners website and VRBO quoted different rates, we booked this property for a few nights prior to catching the ferry to Vancouver Island. The property is located in the lower ground floor of the owners house, it is accessed via some rather steep steps to the side of the property, and through a lockable patio door. The suite was spotlessly clean, and two large bedrooms at either end, one with two singles and one with a large king size bed. plenty of storage available and bedroom safe. The lounge area has two large sofas, but the dining area is rather small and compact. We eat outside in the lovely gardens. The suite is decorated in good quality dark wood furniture. The gallery kitchen offers limited cooking facilities, a full hob, but only a very small compact counter top 'oven' , it took three slices of bread , as was also the grill and toaster. We eat out most evenings, so not a problem, but the size may be an issue to others. There wasn't a toaster, which would have been useful. There was a bit of an eclectic mix of crockery and glasses. The bathroom was very clean, but a lock on the door may have to go on the TO DO list !! All of the windows have amazing views across to down town Vancouver. Some tourist info may be useful, but we were familiar with the area. There is some noise from 'upstairs' walking around, doors closing, and some background TV noise, although It didn't disturb us. The Owner has a small workshop area, outside the main bedroom window, a little disconcerting to see him outside your window at times !! I was a little concerned before we stayed, as the owners website refers you to the calendar of the VRBO website, and the dates we booked three months prior to staying, were still showing as available , but all was fine. The suite provides a good quality accommodation, ideal for Vancouver and ferries at Horse Shoe bay and an great alternative to a hotel."

  • Modern Tranquil Escape

"What a treat to stay at such an incredibly well designed home. The home is built in a way that captures the views of the bay perfectly below and is very private. The roof top deck is fantastic! The next level down is your fully stocked kitchen, dining room and living room. The folding patio doors are fantastic and expose the outer elements perfectly. That couch is so comfortable for just sitting and looking out at that fabulous view. When it gets cooler the floors are heated from the radiant heat! The next level down are the bedrooms. The master bedroom is large and the bathrooms are well designed and thought out with sliding doors for different uses. We were left some handcrafted soaps and lavender bath milk too. A nice touch! The two other bedrooms are good for kids with trundle beds for additional sleeping. The lowest level is the TV room with a futon couch. Great for watching movies. Outside is your garage and a little picnic table. Rosemary is abundant on this property! We picked some and used it when cooking our salmon on the BBQ! The only thing that was missing was a hot tub! Wouldn't that be amazing with a glass of wine in the evening? I think yes! We hiked Pender Hill, kayaked the bay, ate on the patio at the pub in Garden Bay, and pretty much just relaxed the entire time. A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver. Fully stocked for everything you could think of! Thank you for allowing us to experience your lovely home."
