  • Perfect

"We couldn't have been happier with our first rental through VRBO. Darrin's condo in Deep Cove was perfect for us and he was more than helpful giving us great tips. We felt like we were staying in a small village, but were so close to Vancouver. We were in Stanley Park in less than 25 minutes by car, and took the bus in one day in less than 45 minutes for $2.75 each way. Deep Cove had some great food, and steps away breakfast at Honey's was great. I don't like donuts, which they are know for, but the Big Breakfast Bagel and a coffee for about $10 in the morning was perfect. Also, the Raven's Pub which was about a 15 minute walk away was great. Some of the better fish tacos I have had. And lastly, kayak rentals and paddle board rentals are literally a minute walk away. We feel very fortunate we were so close to the ocean at such an affordable price. On Friday there was a free concert in the park as well, which happens in the summer. All in all, a super clean condo, a great peaceful small town feel, and a very nice owner made this a great last minute vacation for us. Please do not hesitate to book with Darrin. You will be very happy with your decision."

  • North Vancouver home

"Our family of four stayed at Aardevin recently. This is a lovely, roomy and comfortable home. The views of the Deep Cove and its marina were beautiful. After a busy day of sightseeing in Vancouver, it was the perfect place to escape the frenzy of the city and recharge for the next day’s activities. The extensive DVD collection was a pleasant and welcome surprise. There is a very nice, very close and well maintained hiking trail which leads through a beautiful forest to an outlook over the cove. We really enjoyed the coffee shop, the ice cream parlor, the waterfront, the little art gallery (got a couple of souvenirs there) and Arm’s Reach restaurant in the idyllic little burg of Deep Cove. And of course- Vancouver was awesome."

  • Home Away from Home

"Lovely modern apartment with absolutely everything you need. Great location, I didn't have a car but used the bus system and a bicycle. I had my little Shi Tzu with me who got along very well with Angel, a lovely resident dog. The owners were more than helpful in any request and made sure you were happy. I lived there for 2 months while visiting family. Will certainly go back again."

  • Luxurious Apartment in Peaceful, Natural Setting

"Our initial communication with Joanne & Tom, on VRBO & telephone, before we arrived, went well. Both were friendly & professional, answering all our communication promptly. Financial transactions went smoothly. Directions to their home were perfect. When we arrived, we were welcomed & Tom took us around the spotless apartment. Everything looked brand new & was in excellent condition. Joanne had pertinent info on a message board, as well as in a folder w. info on nearby furit & veggie shop, grocery stores, restaurants & attractions. Photos & items mentioned in their listing were accurate We stayed for a month at this beautifully decorated, modern apartment, with top-end appliances, provisions & treats to get us started, comfy reclining chair & couch, comfy bed & lovely bedding, & fabulous modern bathroom w. a huge tub & shower. Lighting indoors & outdoors was impressive. Wifi & the large flat-screened TV worked perfectly. Kitchen was well equipped and roomy. Spent a lot of time on the private, covered patio, relaxing on cushioned rocking chairs and enjoying the serenity of the natural tall trees & the beauty of the hosts flower-pots and plants. It was cool & shaded most of the day. Adjoining the patio & up a step, was a generous deck w. a table & seating for four, and a grill that Tom helped us to use. The convenient location made it easy for us to drive to a variety of parks in the area and other attractions. Our hosts had all the info needed for access to these parks & to other popular destinations. Joanne told us how to use public transportation to get into the city, which we used. However, our favorite place, was their home & its environs, & finding trails we could handle in the nearby parks. We were lucky to have perfect weather. It was difficult for us to leave the peacefulness & the comfort of their apartment. Hope to plan another stay in the near future. We have already recommended this apt. to friends & relatives. Went to Lynn Valley Headquarters & took trail to Rice Lake. Went to nearby Princess Park & Cleveland Dam Park. Attended Harmony Festival in W. Vancouver, Drove west on Hwy 1 to Horseshoe Bay & Ferry Terminal. Drove east on Hwy 1 to Cate's Park & Deep Cove. Drove to Costco in Vancouver City & in Burnaby. Hearty breakfast & dinner specials at 80's Restaurant. Ate at Mythos Greek Rest. on Lonsdale Ave. Took public transportation to Stepho's Greek Taverna on Davies St. in city. Recommend roast lamb, For local produce, ask hosts."
