"My Husband Jerry & dog Charlie & I arrived at Lifes a Beach on what was to be the only rainy day we had all week. The owner Chuck greeted us and took us down the long flight of steps ( the only negative about the whole rental). We had a tour of the cottage, it was everything & more than any reviews I've read. Chuck & Darlene were incredible hosts. They have not overlooked a thing, even spare light bulbs. We had a small problem with hornets one day and called Chuck and he attended to it immediately. The decor was very nautical even the mantel was covered with shells. Our dog was very well taken care of, even pink towels to wipe his feet.We would go on short trips to close by towns then couldn't wait to get back to the deck for afternoon sunbathing looking thru binoculars (provided) at Tugs pulling barges and Cruise ships passing by.All in all I couldnt recommend this cottage rental more. I am recommending it to friends for next Summer. Thank you Chuck & Darlene for memorable relaxing vacation spot. Sue,Jerry & Charlie"

"My husband and I were looking for a very special vacation home in a great location where our large extended family could celebrate a special family event. We found the ideal place in Phil and Devi's gorgeous Sunshine Coast home. We were warmly greeted by Devi and who gave us a wonderful tour of the house and made everyone feel totally welcome. I was delighted to see the large dining table which had been beautifully set with a lovely, festive theme. Having a table large enough to seat all of the family was a top priority for us.
The house was perfect. The main room has a vaulted ceiling with floor to ceiling windows facing the spectacular inlet and mountains. It is obvious that a great deal of effort was put into creating the beautiful decor. The furniture, especially in the main room, was very comfortable. (I'm sure that in the winter months it is beyond comfy to have friends and family reclining on the large sectional sofa enjoying a roaring fire.) The kitchen is modern, well-stocked, and was able to handle the many cooks who took part in meal preparations. There is a BBQ on the balcony off the kitchen which was big enough to meet the barbecuing needs of our big group.
There was plenty of space for people to gather in large and small groups throughout the house and the children were able to play without disturbing adults. All of the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable, but the Master Suite was especially enjoyable because of the exquisite view from its balcony, the large whirlpool tub, and a great shower.
The walk to the beach starts with steps going down through an amazing array of plants and flowers. Partway to the beach there is a grassy play area where we could look out at the inlet while sipping drinks and letting the children play. From there a long wooden staircase takes you down to a sandy beach, which can be large or small depending on the tides. The water was amazingly warm and everyone enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, and just playing in the water. Going out onto the water in the late evening was a particularly marvelous experience.
Thank you Devi and Phil for providing us the opportunity to enjoy a memorable family celebration in your delightful home and incredible beachfront. It far surpassed our expectations."

"My husband and I and our two well-traveled canines welcomed the new year at this very comfortable and well-equipped home, and enjoyed every minute of our week-long stay. Though we have visited Porpoise Bay Provincial Park off-season with our dogs on many occasions in the past, we had never driven three minutes further north along the same road to the community of Tuwanek. Our bad! Carmel Cottage is an ideal hideaway while touring the Sunshine Coast and walking/hiking its many trails, minutes from all amenities but in a very tranquil setting. We were fortunate to have a full week of dry (but cold) weather, and especially enjoyed the radiant floor heat keeping us warm. We also attracted two hummingbirds with a fresh batch of syrup in the feeder, and spent as much time watching them as the TV. Such is the charm of Carmel Cottage...
Lastly, one of the highlights of our week was walking the many trails of Hidden Grove. The trails are well-maintained, clearly marked and absolutely ideal for humans and canines alike, so much that we made a donation - tax-deductible at that! - to support the efforts of the volunteers who care for the trails.
All-in-all, a most enjoyable stay!"

"This is an absolutely stunning house to rent with an even better view of the ocean. House is clean and sleeps 15 people perfectly (could fit more though). Everything is modern and in great shape. Kitchen is plentiful with way more than enough space. Neighbours were very kind and helpful. We will be going back next year for sure. Owner was available and helpful on every occasion. Definitely recommend! Thank you for allowing our stay."
