"Our family of four (2 adults, 2 young adults) rented this "home away from home" for a week of rest and relaxation ... and that is exactly what we got. We thoroughly enjoyed the quietness, the nature (especially all the songbirds), the water and the amazing view. A huge plus for us was having access to a canoe and kayak which we used every day. We were there during a heatwave and the house kept us quite comfortable even without air conditioning. What you see in the pictures on the website is totally what you get! The owner was great to deal with and the housekeeper was very friendly and a pleasure to meet. This holiday definitely ranks as one of our best and we are hoping to return again next summer."

"Our family of four (with a 1.5 and 3 year old) stayed at the Devine's lovely beachside home in June. We were blessed with amazing weather - sunshine and breezes for the entire 5 days we were there. The beachside home is easily accessible from the highway but without the hazards as it faces the ocean. There was no issue with privacy! We arrived late in the afternoon the day we checked in - our hosts were gracious enough to drop off a bottle of wine and a pizza so that we wouldn't have to venture out again that day with our two small children! The top floor that is rented out has a wrap around balcony that is fantastic for all-day play, lounging with a good book, patio dinners, and star gazing in the middle of the night. The suite (with the two bedrooms behind sliding doors) is light and airy, and lovingly decorated as a beachhouse. The one downside is the small kitchen - but it does the job. There's are hotplate, a microwave, a small convec oven. There's even a bbq on the patio for guests' private use. Our hosts were generous in sharing their lovely backyard with the children, who played in their wading pool with their water toys every afternoon. The house is on the beach - and though the beach is very pebbly (bring water shoes!), the views, the aquatic life, and waves are right in front of you. We enjoyed watching a pair of bald eagles soar back and forth across the sky in front of us every day, and the girls especially enjoyed collecting rocks and finding crabs/starfish on our daily walks. All in all this was a perfect week on the west coast! Thank you Anndee for making it so comfortable."

"My husband and I were looking for a very special vacation home in a great location where our large extended family could celebrate a special family event. We found the ideal place in Phil and Devi's gorgeous Sunshine Coast home. We were warmly greeted by Devi and who gave us a wonderful tour of the house and made everyone feel totally welcome. I was delighted to see the large dining table which had been beautifully set with a lovely, festive theme. Having a table large enough to seat all of the family was a top priority for us.
The house was perfect. The main room has a vaulted ceiling with floor to ceiling windows facing the spectacular inlet and mountains. It is obvious that a great deal of effort was put into creating the beautiful decor. The furniture, especially in the main room, was very comfortable. (I'm sure that in the winter months it is beyond comfy to have friends and family reclining on the large sectional sofa enjoying a roaring fire.) The kitchen is modern, well-stocked, and was able to handle the many cooks who took part in meal preparations. There is a BBQ on the balcony off the kitchen which was big enough to meet the barbecuing needs of our big group.
There was plenty of space for people to gather in large and small groups throughout the house and the children were able to play without disturbing adults. All of the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable, but the Master Suite was especially enjoyable because of the exquisite view from its balcony, the large whirlpool tub, and a great shower.
The walk to the beach starts with steps going down through an amazing array of plants and flowers. Partway to the beach there is a grassy play area where we could look out at the inlet while sipping drinks and letting the children play. From there a long wooden staircase takes you down to a sandy beach, which can be large or small depending on the tides. The water was amazingly warm and everyone enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, and just playing in the water. Going out onto the water in the late evening was a particularly marvelous experience.
Thank you Devi and Phil for providing us the opportunity to enjoy a memorable family celebration in your delightful home and incredible beachfront. It far surpassed our expectations."
