  • Fantastic getaway spot

"Everything about the Seaview Lodge is designed to please. A group of six of us had a fantastic stay! The rooms were large and comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed. The red ceramic stove in the living room added a warm and welcoming feature when the weather closed in, and the wrap around deck offered comfortable seating when the weather turned warm. The view across Sechelt Inlet is breathtaking. Highly recommended for small or medium sized groups, and the Lodge is well equipped to handle families with kids of every age. I hope to return someday soon!"

  • Beachside heaven here!

"This was the most wonderful and relaxing place imaginable! Everything little detail about Life's a Beach makes it a perfect place to get away. The beach themed decor throughout the home is well chosen and really accentuates the "Life's a Beach" ambience! So many tiny little lovable details, like the little lights strung all around the outside of the home. It is well worthy of being on a House & Home magazine. This is not just a pretty cottage though, it is also functional. There is everything you'll need here for a relaxing, fun filled beach stay- a large BBQ and grilling equipment, kitchen with every kitchen tool you can think of (even a mixer and baking pans!), cutlery and tableware (in both ceramic and plastic, so you can take it out to the beach no problem), lots of fluffy white towels in the bathroom (to wrap yourself in after taking a dip in the backyard beach), comfortable seating everywhere (sofas, recliners, patio set...), 2 levels of patio seating (so you can get a little peace and quiet from the rest of your family/friends if desired, while still enjoying the beach), TV with HDMI port (for movie nights), wonderful views of the water from every angle, and probably more that we can't think of at the moment! This vacation home is perfect for families, couples, adventure seekers, relaxers, you can really do as much or as little as you want. We enjoyed every aspect of Life's a Beach and would return in a heartbeat!"

  • Quaint and Cozy

"My husband and I stayed at Grumpy Cat Cottage for 12 nights, with our adult children and their dogs visiting for part of that stay. We found the cottage to be exactly as described; clean, comfortable, and the large property and waterfront area was enjoyed every day of our stay. It was wonderful to be able to have bonfires in the evenings (the fire ban was lifted) and John provided lots of firewood. Leslie and John left a surprising amount of groceries in the cottage which made us feel even more welcomed. We loved Sechelt and the surrounding areas and totally enjoyed exploring the many beaches and parks in that part of the Sunshine Coast. As adults, we were all very comfortable at Grumpy Cat; however, we did find the noise from the seaplanes very loud and irritating which is something one probably gets used to in time. There was also a lot of hammering and banging going on during the day from house construction next door; again, there was nothing John or Leslie could do about that and by next summer that intrusion should be a thing of the past. I would certainly come back to Grumpy Cat Cottage again but I would not bring small children or the elderly there IF needing to use the 'loft' bedroom for them. It is simply too hazardous of a climb for small children or anyone with a disability. The other two bedrooms on the main floor are perfectly comfortable. Knowing that John and Leslie were next door was a comfort if we needed anything, but they gave us our privacy and we never felt 'watched'. Overall, our vacation was a bounding success and we would love to return to Sechelt again in the near future. Thanks John and Leslie; Grumpy Cat Cottage is a lovely property."

  • Hidden Gem minutes from Sechelt

"My husband and I and our two well-traveled canines welcomed the new year at this very comfortable and well-equipped home, and enjoyed every minute of our week-long stay. Though we have visited Porpoise Bay Provincial Park off-season with our dogs on many occasions in the past, we had never driven three minutes further north along the same road to the community of Tuwanek. Our bad! Carmel Cottage is an ideal hideaway while touring the Sunshine Coast and walking/hiking its many trails, minutes from all amenities but in a very tranquil setting. We were fortunate to have a full week of dry (but cold) weather, and especially enjoyed the radiant floor heat keeping us warm. We also attracted two hummingbirds with a fresh batch of syrup in the feeder, and spent as much time watching them as the TV. Such is the charm of Carmel Cottage... Lastly, one of the highlights of our week was walking the many trails of Hidden Grove. The trails are well-maintained, clearly marked and absolutely ideal for humans and canines alike, so much that we made a donation - tax-deductible at that! - to support the efforts of the volunteers who care for the trails. All-in-all, a most enjoyable stay!"
